00:00Senor Top of the line!
00:03They're no support!
00:05It's Bialder!
00:07Gunrunners on top of the world!
00:09Secretariat-like Breeders' Cup Classic win!
00:22In the Breeders' Cup he was 11 lengths of the lead.
00:25At some stage the commentator said
00:26and Ryan wrote him very positively on the inside
00:30and when the gap opened he just accelerated through it
00:32and it was, yeah, so special.
00:37It's a great night.
00:41We all watched it together in a local bar
00:44so there was great excitement that night
00:46to see him go and do the business.
00:48When he won the Breeders' Cup
00:50it was very, very good.
00:52It was like a World Cup.
00:56The roar from the Churchill Downs.
00:58I just remember when they turned for home
01:00it was like as loud as a sporting venue could possibly be.
01:05Senor Top of the line has won it!
01:08As loud as it was it was instantly gone as soon as they hit the wire.
01:11People were like, how could you possibly be cheering right now?
01:14I wasn't from home.
01:15He was, you know, I was beating the couch.
01:18Trying to get him across the finish line.
01:21When he won the Breeders' Cup mile
01:24because he was a long shot.
01:26It's pretty exciting.
01:27I mean, he, you know, he was all the way on the outside.
01:32He had a heck of a run.
01:33I mean, and that kind of goes with his character.
01:36He's got a lot of heart.
01:38After he won, the feelings of confidence and excitement turned into feelings of
01:44I'm about to have the world's best racehorse in my barn.
01:49And the stress that goes along with that.
01:51But he walked off that van.
01:53He just showed himself off like the champion that he was.
01:59I remember through my career people saying, what is the most amazing horse you've ever worked with?
02:05With Gunrunners on top of the world!
02:07This horse, Gunrunner, he's going to be the one I always will say he's the tip top.
02:15Beholder was probably a really good racehorse because of her intellect.
02:21She obviously has a lot of guts too.
02:25She, and she will, she won't back down here on the farm when she has, you know, something that she
02:30wants to do.
02:31She doesn't back down.
02:34I had so much admiration for Curlin when I was young.
02:37And just so grateful to be able to spend the years that I have, you know, with him.
02:42To now, you know, be a part of Good Magic's career and be here with him as he kind of
02:47takes over.
02:48Something I'm going to tell my kids and grandkids about.
02:50When a lot of people say, I work at Spendriff and I do this and that.
02:53And they ask me, do you know this mare?
02:55And I go, yeah, Beholder, yeah.
02:56I work with her every day and it feels good to talk about it.
02:59It's a little humbling sometimes.
03:01It doesn't feel like I should be managing a horse that great.
03:09But it gives me some pride to think about that.
03:12I've been with him 16 years.
03:15My kids claim I love him more than I love them.
03:18If I showed you my phone, he's my screensaver.
03:21It's not my family, it's he and I.
03:25I never had kids of my own, so I raise these like I think kids should be raised.
03:30And you've got to care about the animals to do this job.
03:35The folks that make it happen that are on the ground, those are the people that deserve all the credit.
03:41Having a horse like that is so much history and so much appreciation what you have in life.
03:47Do you be able to touch a horse and one day you'll be able to say, I take care of
03:52a special horse and I enjoy it and love it.
03:56That's the way it is with horses.
