00:05Hey everyone, it's Taylor at Refinery29. Today I'm going to show you three different uses for one lipstick.
00:11So one of the trends this year is a really deep plum lip, but that color can be a little
00:15bit intimidating if you're not used to wearing a lot of color.
00:18So today I'm going to be using the Sonia Kashuk Plum Wine Satin Luxe Lip Color to show you how
00:23to make a really beautiful stain on the lip, a cheek color, and a deep, fancy lip.
00:29So I'm going to start by using the lipstick as a lip stain. It's going to be really easy. We're
00:34just going to use our finger to apply it and get a nice wash of color.
00:37I like to just warm the lipstick up on my fingertips and get a little bit of the color on
00:42there.
00:45And then we're just going to press it into the lip.
01:16That's one way to use a deep lipstick.
01:20And now, keeping this on, I'm going to use the same sort of technique and use it as a really
01:24pretty brightening cheek color.
01:26This color is really dark so it doesn't look like it's going to come out really good on the cheeks,
01:30but you'll see.
01:33I like to put it on the tip of my finger first, and then onto the back of my hand.
01:41I'll work off of that just so I don't get too much on my cheeks, which can be a little
01:45scary.
01:47Like that.
01:49You just want to start with a small circle and sort of diffuse the color out.
01:54It looks like it's naturally coming from your skin.
01:59You can use a clean finger to blend it a little bit as well.
02:04See how that just looks super, super bright and not dark and plummy like it did in the tube.
02:17And that's how you use a super deep wine lip color as a brightening cheek color.
02:21Now I'm going to show you the third use.
02:25So here's the lipstick just as it would be if you applied it, which is also really pretty.
02:28But we're not going to stop there.
02:30We're going to go ahead and plod it, and then we're going to apply a brightening, almost reddish color lip
02:34gloss on top of it to really make it pop.
02:43The color I'm using is the Becca lip gloss in Hummingbird.
