00:05Hi everybody, Lisa here from Refinery29. I'm going to show you a little nail art DIY.
00:10It's going to be a little Mondrian inspired, great design.
00:13To begin, it's really simple. Choose your color pattern. You can go with black base or a white base.
00:20For this one, I'm doing white today.
00:23The first thing you need is a great nail polish with a really thin brush.
00:27Kind of like this.
00:29It's really just drawing lines. Steady hand is really good.
00:33If you're great with a marker, you can also use a nail or a pen.
00:37But I love these because it's just one swipe and you get a really good line.
00:42I'm just going to draw a little lines, kind of like a tic-tac-tac batter.
00:50I'm just using this as the base.
00:54And then I'm going to fill it in with color.
00:57And then emphasize the lines again afterwards.
00:59Next step is filling it in.
01:02I prefer not to color in every square, just choosing a few.
01:07Today I'm picking some of the primary colors, red, blue, and a yellowish.
01:11So I'm just randomly coloring in a square.
01:18Let's do blue maybe.
01:27Let it dry for a few minutes.
01:30It's okay if your color blocks went over the grid pattern because you can draw over the grid again.
01:35Clean it up.
01:39Now after that's dry, let's clean it up a bit and just draw over your original lines.
01:45That's it.
01:47After it dries, just cover it with a top coat.
01:49And that's the Mondrian nail.
01:51Here we go.
01:53I'll crush you, all the way.
01:54I'm in there!
01:55No strongly.
01:55You can still make
01:56Here you go.
