00:00This is about the office of the President of the United States, and it is critical that we find out
00:05what is going on, what has happened, so we can get to the truth and move on.
00:09It is absolutely unprecedented in American history that the President would fire the FBI director full stop, let alone that
00:16the President would fire the FBI director in those fraught circumstances.
00:21There really has only been one other FBI director fired ever before, and it was for nothing like this.
00:27We've got to turn the heat up.
00:28If you're confident your guy is innocent, great, get a special prosecutor out there, get to the bottom of it,
00:34and everyone in America will know what the answer is.
00:37This country is in a crisis. We have a President that's a liar, that cannot be trusted, and so we've
00:44got to keep trying in every way that we can.
00:47President Trump has begun to test the strength and limits of our Constitution.
00:52He has challenged the separation of powers. He has lashed out against the free press.
00:57He has singled out individual religions and even individual judges.
01:02You specifically asked me in that hearing that if the President asked me to do something that was unlawful or
01:10unconstitutional, would I say no?
01:12And I looked at this. I made a determination that I believed that it was unlawful, and I said no,
01:19and that's what I promised you I would do, and that's what I did.
01:22Donald Trump also does know this to be incorrect. He's joked in private with reporters. This is a shtick that
01:29he does. It's to give them an excuse for holes that might not be in his favor.
01:33It's to give them an excuse to berate somebody other than Donald Trump and to blame somebody for something that
01:40doesn't look as good as they want it to look.
01:43If you really believe America is weak, with our military, our values, our capabilities, that no other country comes close
01:52to matching, then you don't know America.
01:56And you certainly don't deserve to lead it.
