00:28don't really do anything about it. I do shave my legs every now and then pubic
00:33hair wise I like don't shave it. When I was younger though I used to like
00:37completely shave it because I was really self-conscious about it. I have all these
00:41like queer like feminist theory and like who am I pleasing and what am I doing
00:45for me and what am I doing for like the man. Yeah there is a lot of like
00:48pornographic imagery and guys who are really really sculpted and and body hair
00:54is just like not there. I used to wax down there because I was insecure. It
01:00really has been like a transitional thing for me to go from doing it for other
01:04people to now doing it for myself because I feel much better I feel much
01:08more comfortable when I do it. When I first started having sex he made a
01:13comment and then that from then on no hair nowhere. If it was something that I
01:18wanted there and if a dude made a comment that I'd just be like you have to deal
01:23with it. I think that our disgust towards body hair comes from the porn
01:29industry specifically but I think more generally you know when you're a little
01:35girl growing up and you see all these products and you see all these women in
01:39magazines of course you're gonna think I can't wait until I grow up so that I can
01:43look just like these women. I think a lot of it now is a pressure of perfection that a
01:48lot of women feel. I started to become more confident a lot of the other aspects of
01:52my life and I think that that helped in terms of losing that insecurity. So now
01:57I'm just like okay I'll be hairy and I will not try to parse that through like
02:02this over hyper sexualized lens of like what it means to be a gay man. Own your
02:07body hair. If you want to get rid of it get rid of it but get rid of it because
02:10you want to get rid of it.
