00:03So when I look at myself getting my hair cut, I'm like, dang.

00:10Today I will be dyeing my hair to a pastel pink and getting it cut to a short bob.
00:15So for the past few years, I've been in the performance industry,
00:18doing theater, music theater, everything on a stage.
00:22And changing my hair color or getting it cut was seen as a huge, huge career change
00:28regarding the roles you'll play or how you're seen on stage.
00:34And it's really looked down upon.
00:36I've decided to take a step back from the performance industry.
00:39And because of that, I just feel like I can do whatever I want with my hair.
00:43And it's really exciting.
00:45In high school, I played around with dyeing my hair a darker brown.
00:48And I didn't really feel like it was me, but I've been highlighting it for the past three years or
00:53so.
00:53And over the summer, I played around with dip dyeing my ends pink.
00:58And I really, really liked it.
01:00That change was just the start and the spark that started this whole transition.

01:41The short bob is a very carefree hairstyle, in my opinion.
01:45I'm excited to just kind of let it be and not have it be in my face.
01:51And not have to put it back.
01:53And have it be so easy.
01:55And I don't have to mess with it.

02:27So my hair, to me, expresses a lot of personality.
02:31And especially because I've never done a drastic change.
02:35And I feel like I am going through a career assessment.
02:39A life assessment, if you will.
02:41I definitely think it's time for my hair to reflect that as well.
02:45I think I've been doing it in my appearance with my clothes.
02:48I've been trying out more risky fashion trends.
02:51And I'm ready for my hair to reflect that.
02:53Pep in my step and change as well.
03:11I am nervous.
03:13Besides highlights, I've never bleached it or done it a permanent full color.
03:18Of course I'm nervous that I'm going to be like,
03:20uh, I don't know if this is exactly what I wanted.
03:24But your hair, you can change it whenever you want.
03:27It's always going to grow back.
03:28You can always change it to something you know you love.
03:32You always have that option.
04:02My friends and colleagues that are still performing and doing theater,
04:06I have a feeling that they'll see the hair and immediately say like,
04:11well, what are you going to do about auditions?
04:13What are you going to do when a casting director sees your hair?
04:16What's going to be the outcome of this?
04:18I know that everyone's going to question it because of that reason.
04:21And to that, I say like, I'm just going through a change.
04:24It's reflecting in my appearance.
04:26I'm really happy about the change.
04:28And I like the unexpected. It's exciting.

05:01For real though, this looks so, I'm so happy.
05:10I have never seen my hair like this.
05:13The color is so great.
05:15And just with this short cut, it feels really healthy.
05:18It fits my character and this new me.
05:23I wish I had done this sooner, but in retrospect,
05:26I'm just so happy that I'm in a place in my life that I was able to do this right
05:30now.
05:31I'm really excited to play around with it and just show everyone my bold new luck.
