00:03So when I look at myself getting my hair cut, I'm like, dang.

00:10Today, I will be dyeing my hair to a pastel pink
00:12and getting it cut to a short bob.
00:15So for the past few years, I've
00:16been in the performance industry doing theater, music
00:19theater, everything on a stage.
00:22And changing my hair color or getting it cut
00:25was seen as a huge, huge career change
00:28regarding the roles you'll play or how you're seen on stage.
00:34And it's really looked down upon.
00:36I've decided to take a step back from the performance industry.
00:39And because of that, I just feel like I
00:41can do whatever I want with my hair, and it's really exciting.
00:45In high school, I played around with dyeing my hair a darker
00:48brown, and I didn't really feel like it was me.
00:50But I've been highlighting it for the past three years or so.
00:54And over the summer, I played around with dip dyeing my ends
00:58pink.
00:58And I really, really liked it.
01:00That change was just the start and the spark that
01:03started this whole transition.

01:46I'm excited to just kind of let it be and not have it be in my face,
01:50and not have to put it back, and have it be so easy.

02:27So my hair, to me, expresses a lot of personality.
02:31And especially because I've never done a drastic change, and I feel like I am going
02:36through a career assessment, a life assessment, if you will, I definitely think it's time
02:42for my hair to reflect that as well.
02:44I think I've been doing it in my appearance with my clothes.
02:48I've been trying out more risky fashion trends, and I'm ready for my hair to reflect that pep
02:54in my step and change as well.

03:13Besides highlights, I've never bleached it or done it a permanent full color.
03:18Of course I'm nervous that I'm going to be like, oh, I don't know if this is exactly what
03:23I wanted.
03:24But your hair, you can change it whenever you want.
03:27It's always going to grow back.
03:28You can always change it to something you know you love.

04:04When you're still performing and doing theater, I have a feeling that they'll see the hair
04:09and immediately say, well, what are you going to do about auditions?
04:13What are you going to do when a casting director sees your hair?
04:16What's going to be the outcome of this?
04:18I know that everyone's going to question it because of that reason.
04:21And to that, I say, I'm just going through a change.
04:24It's reflecting in my appearance.
04:26I'm really happy about the change.
04:28And I like the unexpected.

05:13The color is so great.
05:15And just with this short cut, it feels really healthy.

05:25But in retrospect, I'm just so happy that I'm in a place in my life that I was able to
05:30do this right now.
05:31I'm really excited to play around with it and just show everyone my bold new luck.
