Transcript
00:00Hey, I'm Nagin.
00:01Welcome to My Sweet Digs.
00:02Come and meet my plants.
00:04My apartment is $14.50 a month, and I have about 840 square feet.
00:10It's a one-bedroom, one-bathroom with a giant walk-in closet.
00:14I have a washer and dryer in-unit, which is incredible.
00:18And my apartment complex also has a pool,
00:21so I think it's just a really great deal for me.
00:23This is my living room.
00:25One of my favorite finds of all time is my beautiful coffee table.
00:30I found it on Facebook Marketplace, and it had a water stain,
00:34and so I got it for, like, $80.
00:36Such a steal.
00:38So the one thing that my friends are definitely not a fan of
00:41are my Oak Knoll chairs, but I'm so in love with them.
00:45They're just so old, and they creak a lot.
00:48I really splurged on my credenza.
00:51I got it at this vintage store called Rave On.
00:54It was about $850.
00:57I die inside when I say that.
00:59The next big purchase I made was this really amazing and comfortable couch.
01:04I paid $675 for it.
01:07I got it from Living Spaces, and it just fits so perfectly.
01:11I am a full-time YouTuber.
01:13Above my dining table, we have, oh, it's my YouTube plaque.
01:16I cried when I received it in the mail.
01:18It was such a pivotal moment in my career.
01:21It was just really nice to have it on display.
01:24I've been collecting my plants for roughly three and a half years,
01:29and none of them have died.
01:31I really make it a point to have real plants living in this space.
01:35I think fake plants don't even.
01:37I'm sorry.
01:37If you have them, just don't.
01:39It really gives a fake vibe.
01:42So this whole place, all real.
01:45I hate fake plants.
01:46We have my fiddle leaf fig tree.
01:49His name is Fiddle.
01:50And then I have my pilea called Penny.
01:53And it is just a beautiful, beautiful plant.
01:56I definitely talk to them every day.
01:57I'm not crazy, but I'll walk up to Fiddle and I'll be like, good morning.
02:02Doesn't say anything back, but you know, you do what you can.
02:06And we have my kitchen over here.
02:10I like to cook every single day.
02:12I really love cooking a roast chicken.
02:15I'm using Ina Garten's famous roast chicken recipe.
02:19I love it.
02:20I cook it like every month.
02:21I'll just have it in the middle of the week and it'll just last me for forever.
02:26My little morning routine is going to my Nespresso, putting in a Venezio pod.
02:32It's the vanilla pod.
02:33And then I'll add in my collagen creamer.
02:35Then I'll come and sit onto the couch and I'll just do my work on my laptop.
02:40And you guys, this is just the highlight of my day.
02:43Everything in my apartment, I like to keep extremely like super neat, except for
02:49my junk drawer.
02:50This is the only place where all of the random stuff goes.
02:55Here we are in my bathroom.
02:57I was really wanting to give off some spa-like vibes.
03:02I added in dried eucalyptus so that whenever I'm taking a shower, the steam from the shower will
03:10bring out the essential oils and it's divine.
03:13I decided to get a wooden mat to step out on.
03:18It doesn't really work that well, but it's for the aesthetic, you guys, and it's worth it.
03:21Although I don't have a window in my bathroom, I really wanted plants to live in here, but it just
03:27wouldn't work.
03:28So I did go for fake plants, but they're pretty cute, you guys, and they're small.
03:33Well, the real, because it really adds to the, they add to the aesthetic, okay, you guys?
03:39Don't judge me, okay?
03:41But I still hate them.
03:42If I could get rid of them, I would.
03:45And through this door, we have my walk-in closet.
03:48What really tops this apartment off is the walk-in closet.
03:53I mean, I just really love that it's so spacious and I know my friends say that I'm spending a
03:58lot
03:59of money, but have you seen the closet?
04:01And this is my bedroom.
04:04For my bedroom, it is still a work in progress.
04:07I really was trying to go for a bohemian vibe, but I think it turned into industrial as well.
04:14Ideally, it would be bohemian.
04:16Bed frames can get pretty expensive.
04:17And at the time I was like, oh, this is a cheap bed frame.
04:21The side tables work perfectly because they have a lot of wood accents on them.
04:25So industrial in the back, boho in the front.
04:28I really wanted to have a really nice desk to work at whenever I'm editing my videos.
04:33I wanted a wooden desk and I found it on allmodern.com.
04:37It's just perfect.
04:38It's a great size for me.
04:39It's not too big, not too small.
04:40I really wanted to have some influences from Iran.
04:44I have a little box.
04:47It has my grandfather's watch in there.
04:50Whenever he passed, I asked my family members to bring the watch down from Iran.
04:55I wanted to wear it and so we got new batteries put in,
04:58but then the watch just completely died within the week.
05:01But, you know, it's great to look at once in a while.
05:03I have a Polaroid of my parents displayed right above my desk.
05:08I think it's so cute.
05:09I grew up as an only child and I have never had a pet before.
05:13Just growing up in a really tight-knit family has really helped me just get super close to them.
05:19We literally have matching tattoos.
05:21I don't know.
05:22It was cute.
05:23It was a little sweet little activity that we all did.
05:26Because I'm a YouTuber, I pay very close attention to what's in the background of my videos.
05:32And so that really influenced the way that I decorate.
05:35So having white walls is super, super important.
05:38Having a lot of natural sunlight is really beneficial for my videos.
05:42Working from home is really amazing and it's also challenging at times.
05:48It does get a little lonely just always being here.
05:51I have to designate a lot of times throughout my day to see other people, like see humans.
05:58And so it's hard but I just really love the time freedom that I have with working from home.
06:04So it's just something that comes with it.
06:06I actually was living in this complex and I went through a breakup.
06:10And I really just love this place so much that I decided to move within the same complex.
06:15But it's okay because I really love it that much.
06:18I moved in here with my plants and my desk and my clothes and my kitchenware.
06:23I had to invest a lot of money into literally everything in a really short period of time.
06:29So I would say I've spent upwards of $4,000 or more.
06:34It was really hard adjusting but it took about two months for this place to really feel like home.
06:40And the moment that it clicked, it was such a memorable moment.
06:43And it's just been a really empowering and fulfilling moment in my life.
06:47Now that I'm living alone and paying for my bills and taking care of myself fully,
06:53I feel like such a grown up.
06:55And I just feel really happy and proud that I'm just not relying on anyone.
07:00I can do all that I need to do by myself.
