Barbie Ferreira makes drinks with Refinery29
Transcript
00:00It's blending time.
00:04Hi, I'm Barbie Ferreira, and welcome to my exclusive Swim Up Bar.
00:07Our only menu option, pina coladas.
00:11We shall be doing a pina colada, and of course,
00:14I've made this many times.
00:16Tips are very much welcomed.
00:19Thanks.
00:19OK, we're going to start off with some ice.
00:23I do not necessarily go for a pina colada like Catwood.
00:27I like more of like a limey drink.
00:29My go-to drink is a gin and tonic, or a margarita,
00:33or anything of that sort.
00:34Also, we have two rums.
00:35OK.
00:42I relate to Cat in every single way possible.
00:45You know, obviously not in camming.
00:48Through life, I was a One Direction fan.
00:51I had an online persona.
00:53I still do.
00:54Yeah.
00:55Everything about her is pretty much like something I can relate to almost directly.
00:59But I know there's ramen, pina coladas, and I know there's all these ingredients.
01:02And I don't think there's necessarily, like, there needs to be one before the other.
01:07So I'm just going to go ham.
01:11My personal experience was very similar to Cat's because I felt pretty invisible.
01:16But also maintaining, like, a few friendships and, like, that loneliness of finding the escape
01:20into online communities and finding people who are like-minded is very much related.
01:24It's relatable to me.
01:25Should I add some, like, chunks?
01:27Also, banana?
01:29I don't know about banana.
01:30Oh, my God.
01:34I think social media has both helped and hurt young women because everything is a positive,
01:39negative to it.
01:40Everything in excess.
01:41And I kind of curate my experience to be positive and fun.
01:45I'm not here to feel bad myself.
01:47I'm here for a good time and for memes.
01:50So...
01:50Banana.
01:56My advice to young women learning how to love their own bodies is to curate your experience
02:02on the internet.
02:03Curate what you watch.
02:04If anything makes you feel bad, it's not worth it.
02:07I'm going to keep it real.
02:08I don't use any kitchen utensil things or...
02:20It's ready.
02:24Oh.
02:27It doesn't feel good!
02:29Ah!
02:34I think that people are exploring their sexuality in different ways now.
02:39There's different outlets for it.
02:40And I think just being open-minded and not judgmental about anyone's sexual needs and,
02:46you know, what they're curious about.
02:49And having that mindset kind of opens up to be like, oh, like, I'm a sexual being.
02:54I am allowed to be a sexual being.
02:56I'm going to try it.
02:58I'm scared.
02:58I'm scared.
03:02This is...
03:03This is a bad colada whooshin!
03:08It's so bad.
03:09It's literally like oatmeal.
03:10I think the only natural way to fix it is by adding more rum.
03:18A real mantra, we're going to keep it real, is you are worthy and you are loved.
03:25Bon appetit!
03:32Still bad.
03:33Thank you for watching Refinery29.
03:34I'll see you in the next video.
03:34And I'll be back.
03:35One beautiful thing is going to be rude as well.
03:35I want you to be rude as well.
03:35Bye.
