00:00Look at that form I'm giving you, look at that form, look at that curve.
00:06My name is Candice Brathwaite, I'm an author, entrepreneur and mother, and this is my Sunday.
00:12I would sum up my Sunday as restorative, Sunday to me, that's my church.
00:17I get up about 5.30, even on a Sunday.
00:20I love going cycling, it's just time to like ground and centre myself.
00:25Every day, especially with children, is going to be hectic at some point.
00:28But at least I've held on to this moment of calm really early in the day.
00:33I think a lot of parental anxiety isn't from what's happening, it's from not feeling like you're prepared.
00:40Feeling organised means that I'm not feeling flustered.
00:44So Sunday in this house is pancake day.
00:49Hello.
00:52I love keeping my fruit crisp and fresh, it's amazing how well this fridge does that.
01:00Bro, look at that drip.
01:03The first crepe is always horrendous, do not get hard on yourself.
01:08But when I see that stack start to pile up and they're looking really good, that's my favourite part.
01:14Creating the tradition of having pancakes on a Sunday is creating memories.
01:19My dad was very respectful of a Sunday.
01:22Super hard worker, but Sunday, it's good tunes, it's good cooking.
01:27Seriously, Esme?
01:29Oh, Dad, you look like, you look like the Lion King.
01:33Esme, you are funny.
01:34There are certain things I could smell or hear now that put me in my dad's kitchen.
01:38And I want my children to have that moment.
01:42It's like roots, you know?
01:43No matter where they travel to or what they do, it's their comfort.
01:47The day Sunday means to me just connecting with myself and slowing down,
01:52especially prior to lockdown.
01:54There just seemed to be this incorrect idea that success aligned with living life at 200 miles per hour.
02:01Lockdown came along and then Sundays especially became to me really sacred.
02:06It's using that time to keep the parts of you alive that you might keep quiet Monday to Saturday.
02:12Sunday's that time for you to come alive.
