You don't always have to go all dark with your smudge!

00:09I've been loving this green smoky eye I've been seeing recently and I'm hoping
00:13that James can show me a way to make it wearable. For me when I think smoky I
00:17think of warmer colors but I love the idea of bringing this green that
00:20everybody loves right now in and making it sultry and seductive and a super
00:25wearable. Do you want to try it out? Yeah let's do it. Black pencil is a great way
00:29to just be sure that you're getting the intense smoky eye that we all love and
00:34I'm bringing it right on the waterline on the top and bottom. When you line the
00:37bottom of the eye inside you've got to learn the top as well. The next way we're
00:43gonna get our wow is to continue with pencil but I'm going to use a bold green
00:48pencil. I'm sketching it right along the lash line on the top and on the bottom
00:52and it's not a perfect line it's smudgy it's sexy and then we're gonna go in
00:56with our liner brush and just smudge that right into place. An easy way to keep a
01:02smoky eye more modern without that kind of really hard Kim Kardashian look is to
01:07combine textures. So I'm working with a soft brush and a deep cream color and I'm
01:13bringing that onto the eye from crease to lash and this is kind of a blackened
01:17green and I'm bringing it right down even over my liner that's there. The reason I
01:22line the eye first is because I really want that depth of color and now to
01:27elevate it even further I'm going in with a powder shadow and I'm using that
01:32soft bit of shimmer only in the center of the lid and this is just gonna make
01:37sure that even though we're doing a dark smoky eye the eye stays really open and
01:41doesn't look small or closed off. Are you ready to try it? Alright. So what do you
01:51think? It's definitely really dramatic but I think it's great for nights out for
01:58sure. One of my tips is to take a mascara in the same color family this is a
02:03bright green. That bright green just at the tip will really counterbalance the
02:09dark effect of the smoky eye and still give you that fun green shade. My next
02:13trick bring a soft complementary color onto the lip. Something in the pink or red
02:18family is a great way to make sure that that green doesn't look too extreme. And
02:25there you go. Cool. I'm so excited to try it. I can't wait. Thank you James. Thank you
02:29babe.
