00:14Today I'm double daring myself to try purple eye shadow.
00:17Purple is my favorite color, but I am a little bit nervous to try it on my eyelids.
00:22What is it about purple that makes you so nervous to you?
00:25I just feel like when it's done wrong, it looks like a bruise.
00:28Okay. Generally I find when ladies use a purple color, if it has a gold fleck in it, it actually
00:35will look nicer on the eye and maybe bring out more of the blue in your eye.
00:38Great.
00:39Maybe we'll try that.
00:40Applying a loose powder underneath will catch any of the fallen shadows so therefore you
00:44won't have that darkness around the eye that will make you look like you have a bruise.
00:49Using a short brush, a firmer brush, apply the purple eye shadow on the lid.
00:55Make sure to pat it so it gives it a nice intensity.
01:00Right up to the edge.
01:03Using a purple shadow with a gold fleck in it, brightens up the eye so it doesn't look bruise
01:07and also bring out the blue in your eye.
01:10Use a very soft brush for a little blending just along the edge.
01:15A smaller brush will give you a little bit more detail and bring it in tighter right under
01:20you.
01:21Starting from the outside.
01:23Make sure to connect the corners to give it a nice lift.
01:27Sweep away any of the shadows that have fallen.
01:33Now take a look.
01:34Oh, I like that.
01:35It gives you a nice smokey eye with a touch of purple, brightens the eye with a little
01:38bit of the gold fleck so it doesn't feel like you have a bruise now.
01:42So we'll finish it off with a little mascara.
01:46So here's the brush for you.
01:48Now you're going to mimic this.

01:49So apply a little loose powder underneath to catch any falling shadow.
01:54Use a firm brush.
01:58Bring it up just a little bit more.
