00:16nail art design that's perfect for summer.
00:18You can use any colors to do this design but we chose neon because it's such a big trend this
00:23season.
00:23What you'll need for splatter paint nails are a white nail polish, two colors of neon, a top coat, nail
00:30polish remover, a straw, scissors, tape, and a paper plate.
00:36So the first step is just to paint all of your nails white. It's best to use an opaque white
00:42so you don't have to do a bunch of coats.
00:48So this is when things start to get messy. To avoid nail polish staining your fingers, you'll want to wrap
00:53your fingers with tape.
00:56You don't have to be super precise about this. This will just make cleanup way easier.
01:01You'll wrap the tape around the bottom part of your nail. You don't have to do it too tight. And
01:10then around the top part.
01:19The first step is you'll want to cut your straw. I cut it a little shorter because it's easier to
01:24handle and control.
01:25So I just cut it maybe like three inches long. So I'm going to be starting with the neon yellow.
01:32I'll put a dab of it on the paper plate. You can use any work surface.
01:38So make a small little pool of it.
01:43And then you're going to want to dab your straw in it and then use it like a blow dart
01:50and blow on top of your nail.
02:00So you get this really cool splatter pattern by doing that.
02:05Just keep adding more paint to your little pile. So it doesn't dry.
02:21It's really up to you how much splatter effect you want.
02:25You can like really go for it with each color or just do a small amount.
02:32So now that I'm done with the first color, I'm going to start with the second color.
02:36We chose a bright neon pink.
02:37You want to cut another section of the straw so you don't mix your colors.
02:42And then you go through the same process.
02:43Just make a little pool of your second color and blow dart it on your nail.
03:06So now that you're done splattering your nails, you can take the tape off.
03:10The tape helps control most of the mess, but you'll still need to clean up your nail beds with nail
03:14polish remover.
03:15Now that my nails are dry, I'm going to go ahead and apply the top coat.
03:20You want to wait until they're completely dry so it doesn't smear.
03:23And voila!
