00:00It is Georgia, it is Florida, it is a big one here, man.
00:04Now, here's question number one.
00:08I'm used to this game being played in Jacksonville,
00:11but maybe that's just me, like,
00:14misremembering things a little bit here, Dave.
00:18Am I right?
00:18I see this game, it says it's being played at Georgia.
00:21Like, I understand that the Jacksonville Jaguars
00:23maybe need their stadium,
00:25but it says it's being played, you know,
00:27at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
00:30Isn't it supposed to be the large,
00:32the world's largest outdoor cocktail party?
00:34Like, what's the, that seems hard to do when it don't.
00:38Keyword is outdoor.
00:39Yes, it's a two-year sabbatical
00:40because the Jags are redoing their stadium.
00:42People don't even know that even though the Jags
00:44are still playing games there, it's half capacity.
00:46So the Jags are playing in a stadium that's 40,000
00:49instead of 80,000 as they redo their billion-dollar stadium.
00:52Two games in London, as you've seen,
00:54so Jacksonville can get away with that
00:56and only play a couple of home games.
00:57Florida and Georgia elected
00:58that it wouldn't be fair to their alumni base
01:01to play in a half-capacity stadium.
01:03So they're moving it for two years.
01:04They did this back in the early 90s
01:06when the Jags got their team
01:08and they needed to rebuild the old Gator Bowl
01:11to make it NFL-ready.
01:12And they played one game in Athens
01:14and one game in Gainesville
01:15and people said it was the greatest thing in the world
01:17and then they went back to Jacksonville.
01:18So I would have done the same thing.
01:20I would have gone back to Athens
01:21and back to Gainesville
01:22and let the home bases enjoy the games
01:24because as a student,
01:25I would have loved to have gone to Athens.
01:26And so I had five games in Jacksonville.
01:28But they're going Mercedes-Benz this year
01:31and they're going to Tampa
01:32and Raymond James next year.
01:33So they are playing it in neutral sites,
01:37so to speak,
01:38in states that are close to you.
01:40So this is in Georgia's backyard,
01:42but it's Atlanta.
01:43Atlanta is still different than Athens.
01:44And next year will be in Tampa,
01:46which is different than Gainesville.
01:48We're talking an hour and a half here or there.
01:50But they are going away for two years
01:52so they can redo this stadium in Jacksonville
01:54and, you know,
01:55get another Super Bowl there one day.
01:57The type of thing, though,
01:58that does impact the point spread,
02:01I would say, a little bit, right?
02:03Like if this was in Jacksonville like normal,
02:05you call it a neutral field.
02:07Or maybe not.
02:08I mean, so give me your look here.
02:11I mean, we got a double-digit number,
02:12you know, in a big spot.
02:14To answer the first question,
02:15it's a 50-50 split.
02:16So the tickets are 50-50
02:17and it's one of those fascinating things.
02:19You walk into Jacksonville
02:20and it's literally red on one side,
02:22blue on the other,
02:22and they flip every year.
02:23This is in Atlanta.
02:25So, like, if Florida fans decide
02:26they don't want to drive the three hours,
02:28those tickets get put back on the market
02:29and they'll be gobbled up by Georgia fans
02:31because it's closer and vice versa next year.
02:34So you could say Georgia has a little bit
02:36of a home field advantage,
02:37no different than playing the SEC championship game there.
02:39That said, full transparency, Kevin,
02:41I was not going to play this game.
02:43I am tired of trying to predict
02:45what Florida's going to do every single week.
02:46I am beyond stunned that Georgia lost that game
02:49versus Auburn last week.
02:50We're going to look back at the end of this year
02:51and say, how the hell did they lose at home to Auburn?
02:54That said, this number kept climbing.
02:57It was 10, then it was 10 and a half,
03:00then it was 11,
03:00and all of a sudden it's Thursday afternoon
03:03and I have a 12 and a half up there.
03:05And I said, you know, 12 and a half is a big number
03:08and it's going to go the other way.
03:10You're going to get the buyback, which you have.
03:11It's down in the 11 and a half this morning.
03:13I grabbed it at 12 and a half and here's why.
03:16And again, I wasn't going to play this game.
03:18Buster Faulkner, the Florida OC,
03:20which we've talked about has revolutionized Florida's offense.
03:23They've played some of the best offensive games
03:24in their school's history as a team
03:26that had Tim Tebow and company
03:28and had Spurrier for a decade.
03:30Buster Faulkner coached with Kirby Smith at Georgia.
03:33He then went to Georgia Tech
03:35where they played every single year.
03:36And I'm going to give you some numbers
03:37on Buster Faulkner with Georgia Tech's offense,
03:40not Florida's offense.
03:41Over 24 points per game, 400 yards per game.
03:45With Georgia Tech, he now has an offense at Florida
03:48that's ninth in points and 21st in yards.
03:50And here's the number that spoke to me.
03:53Those three Georgia Tech games versus Georgia,
03:56the Yellow Jackets lost by a combined 17 points,
04:00covered all three games,
04:01gave Georgia a scare all three years
04:04that they didn't need
04:05because they were already going
04:07to the SEC championship game.
04:08For those that don't know,
04:10the Georgia-Georgia Tech game
04:11is the last game of the season
04:12before the SEC title game.
04:14So Georgia has the SEC wrapped up by then.
04:17Have the playoffs in their sights
04:19and Georgia Tech gave them a scare all three years.
04:23That's what Buster Faulkner has done at Georgia Tech.
04:26Now this game is in the swamp.
04:29Sorry, this game is in Mercedes-Benz
04:31and he has the Florida offense.
04:34And John Sumrall, new to Florida,
04:3730-11 against the spread in his career
04:40as a road dog, coaching Tulane,
04:43coaching in Troy, other places,
04:45enjoys this spot as a road dog.
04:48And it's not a road dog, but it is on the road.
04:51So I'm going to take the 12 and a half
04:53and hope the right Florida team shows up
04:55because Georgia, who I still think
04:57is the best team in the country,
04:59still shows me some issues sloppy with the ball
05:02against Auburn two weeks ago.
05:03I'm going to take the 12 and a half
