00:00There was some big news in the college landscape that I just want to mention around the Oregon program.
00:06Now, I don't think Dan Lanning's job is on the line this season.
00:11It's obviously been a nightmare of a year, but they have been given the official word that Dante Moore is
00:20done for the season.
00:21And I never felt that Dante Moore was as good as some others did, but obviously a massive downgrade for
00:28this team and losing more.
00:30Their season was over. I mean, their season's been over like four different times.
00:34It feels like already here, Dave, but just a tough blow for the kid as well, who last year, every
00:43indication was had a real good chance to be a top 10 draft choice.
00:46And now the future a little more up in the air for Dante Moore.
00:50It is, but I actually think it's the right decision.
00:54And sometime in the future, whether it's college or NFL or both, are going to learn to take head injuries
01:00a little bit more seriously.
01:01And regardless if it's because their season is over or because it was the player's decision, whatever it happened, it's
01:07the right call.
01:08There's no reason to bring him back. It was a really, really bad concussion.
01:12Nothing good can come of bringing him back at the end of the season and he gets another one.
01:16And then his pro career might be done before it starts. So let him sit out the year, let him
01:21decide what he wants to do.
01:21He still may be a top 10 pick when we're done with the combine and we're done with the pro
01:26days.
01:26And he hasn't changed since last year. He had a rough season. A lot of it was his on his.
01:33A lot of it was on his coach. A lot of it's on the team. Just wasn't as good as
01:36everyone thought they were.
01:37But he's still Dante Moore and he still could go in the first round, let him or he could come
01:42back for another year.
01:43There's nothing good can come from him coming back in a lost season and getting another blow to the head
01:48that could potentially end his career or even worse with the health.
01:51You saw what happened to a tag of by Loa. You know, he shouldn't have come back.
01:55He came back. He got another concussion. And now look at him in the NFL.
01:58He's barely even a backup quarterback. So we see this time and time again.
02:01You saw the report over the weekend, the CT report about the NFL.
02:05Take care of what he needs to take care of and reassess when the season's over.
02:09Yeah, I just think for me, I am so.
02:13Of course, you wish Dante Moore the absolute best.
02:17I am so fascinated what the Oregon Ducks are going to look like next season.
02:23Can't stress it enough, guys. We are going to get a 2014 playoff next year.
02:28Oregon entered this college football season, the number two team.
02:32Every person in the world would have told you Oregon's obviously in the playoff and the Oregon Ducks this year
02:38would not make a 2014 playoff.
02:41They lost both their offensive and defensive coordinator over the offseason.
02:45One of them is a mega star in Lexington.
02:48The other is a disaster in Cal.
02:51Quarterback wise, they were supposed to be set for the future.
02:54The Dylan Gabriel to Dante Moore pipeline was going to turn into the Dante Moore to Dylan Raiola pipeline.
03:00I'm not sure they can bring back Dylan Raiola.
03:02It doesn't feel like they can.
03:05And they're probably going to have to do musical chairs of coordinators.
03:11And it's just, it's one of the most fascinating spots, in my opinion, from the offseason of college football.
