00:00One team who's not ranked that made your card
00:04and they're in the receiving votes category,
00:06so they would be technically right now 26th, 7th, 8th, 29th in the country.
00:13And look, they probably don't deserve to be ranked.
00:16They lost their first two games of the year in fine fashion,
00:19but, you know, to the better teams that they faced.
00:21But they're obviously, you know, an exciting team
00:23and every week people are checking in on what Oregon State are doing.
00:28Looks like you're going to be more than checking in here
00:30for a late-night trip to Fresno State.
00:34Yeah, I like the spot with Oregon State and their scoring.
00:37Obviously, they're scoring a lot of points, but what I like about this one,
00:40I think you're getting a by-low number on Oregon State at 32.5
00:44because Fresno State's defensive numbers don't look bad.
00:47But why don't they look bad?
00:49Because they played Sacramento State and Washington State, two horrific teams.
00:52So this is a step-up in class for Fresno State.
00:55You're talking about an Oregon State offense that can put up tons of points
00:59and tons of yards.
01:00And when we saw Fresno State play USC, they gave up 39 points in 500 yards.
01:05When we saw Fresno State play Boise, they gave up 38 points in 500 yards.
01:09The Beavers have scored 33 or more points in each of the last five games,
01:13winning all five of them, which is why people love betting them.
01:15The only one that they failed to break 30 in is when they played ranked Houston
01:19and ranked Texas Tech.
01:20Let me tell you something.
01:22Fresno State is not Houston, and they're not Texas Tech.
01:24I have the Beavers to score often tonight.
01:27We're going to isolate the team total over 32.5.
01:30I see them putting up 40 or more in this one.
01:32I want to ask you a question about LeGree.
01:36Jeremiah Smith is currently the Heisman Trophy favorite.
01:41When I said earlier today that LeGree is going to push him for the bullet in the cough,
01:44I was not kidding.
01:46Jesse LeGree plays for a 5-2 Oregon State, and he's 30-1 to win the Heisman Trophy.
01:50Okay?
01:51It's there for a reason.
01:53For anyone who's unaware, LeGree has had 100 receiving yards in every single game.
01:56He's scored a touchdown in every single game.
01:58He has the country's lead right now in 14 touchdowns.
02:02Jeremiah Smith is at 12.
02:04And he has lead in yards at 1,040 compared to Jeremiah Smith's second place right now, 984.
02:13So he's about 60 or so, a little bit under 60 yards ahead of him.
02:19Could Jesse LeGree's season hurt Smith's Heisman campaign?
02:25Because we end up debating Smith versus LeGree, and if Smith isn't even the best receiver, then—or do you think
02:34that'll have no bearing on it?
02:36If the Heisman Trophy award was given out to the guy with the best statistics, then you'd have a point,
02:42and it could potentially hurt Jeremiah Smith.
02:44I was writing a Heisman column for prize picks last week, and I was looking at it, and I used
02:49to have Jeremiah Smith setting records and number one in every category.
02:54And I realize he's not number one in every category, and he's not on pace to break the same records
02:58that Jesse LeGree was on pace to break.
03:00But the short answer is no, because this is not a stats award, totally.
03:05It is a popularity contest for the media, and Jeremiah Smith is the favorite for a reason.
03:12And if it doesn't go to Jeremiah Smith, it's going to go to a quarterback.
03:14It's not going to go to a guy who has better stats than Jeremiah Smith because he's playing inferior opponents.
03:19I just went through some of the opponents Oregon State has played this year.
03:23Jesse LeGree has not had 100 yards and two touchdowns against Texas.
03:28He hasn't had it against Indiana.
03:30He's not going to have it against Michigan.
03:32He's not going to have it against Oregon.
03:33He's not having it against the same caliber of games that Jeremiah Smith had.
03:39And to me, that matters, and that's what the voters see.
03:42The voters have seen Jeremiah Smith every week make ridiculous plays, make game-changing plays every week.
03:49If you lined up the Heisman Trophy voters and told them to pick Jesse LeGree out of a lineup, they
03:54probably couldn't do it.
03:56And that's why it'll have no impact.
