00:00We've got a matchup between North Carolina and Miami
00:05that just had a bit of shine taken off of it last week
00:10with UNC losing in OT to Syracuse.
00:14One of the themes of the college football season is the,
00:18you want the ball second now in overtime,
00:21like definitively in,
00:23people probably maybe will say that's always been the case,
00:25but because basically now what happens is you go second,
00:29you go for two and getting two point conversions right now in college
00:33does not seem to be all that difficult here.
00:36And people will say, well, why, why does that take shine off?
00:41Like, oh, how good are UNC?
00:43They're four and three.
00:44They would have been five and two, five and two.
00:48For everyone to remember, UNC last year won four football games,
00:54four, and they were seen as a joke.
00:59And the idea from Belichick and crew, you know,
01:05was the end was inevitable.
01:08And now Belichick has an opportunity to get what would be by far
01:17his biggest win at UNC.
01:20UNC, and there's an argument it would be his biggest win since whenever the
01:25last Brady Super Bowl was.
01:28I mean, the, I don't know, the,
01:30the in-between win that comes to mind was when they played Josh Allen and
01:35Buffalo in the snow with Mac Jones.
01:37And he let Mac throw it like four times and they won the game.
01:40So it's been a long time, 14 point number.
01:45Now in spots here, Dave, what do you make of UNC and Miami?
01:51I'm going to take your little bit of a shine off.
01:54They could be five and two, and I'll go a step further.
01:57Kevin, they had a lead against Clemson.
01:59When lightning stopped the game, they should have beaten Clemson.
02:03They came back and played the last eight minutes and then all hell broke
02:07loose and Clemson winds up winning and covering,
02:10which we don't want to discuss ever again.
02:12This team is two plays away from being six and one, not four and three,
02:18but six and one losing overtime to Syracuse and you have the Clemson game.
02:22And I'm not telling you North Carolina is a six and one team.
02:24That's good.
02:25And it's going to go to the college football playoff.
02:26That's not correct.
02:28They did beat TCU over in Ireland to start the season.
02:31They played Notre Dame very, very tough.
02:34That was a close game at halftime.
02:36They should have beaten Clemson and they should have beaten Syracuse.
02:38Now good teams win those games.
02:40Average teams don't, which is why North Carolina is four and three.
02:43They're getting 14 and a half points and I'm not calling for the upset.
02:47I'm not saying this is going to be the crystal ball spot that you and I have
02:50discussed for eight weeks now, but it could be.
02:55It could be North Carolina 20th and red zone defense.
02:58So maybe they mix things up against that Miami offense.
03:03107th ranked pass defense.
03:04Miami has 107.
03:06So the one weakness is we all talk about Miami and their Heisman trophy
03:10candidates on offense and how they lead the nation in scoring in yards.
03:13That's great.
03:13It's going to continue scoring.
03:14They can absolutely win this game 40 to 10.
03:16I'm not saying they won't, but your 20th and red zone defense.
03:19You have a passing attack that can exploit Miami's 107th ranked defense,
03:25pass defense.
03:26And they're the fourth fewest penalties in the nation.
03:30They're a smart team, disciplined team.
03:34Miami, not always smart in discipline.
03:36Get seven, eight, nine penalties a game.
03:39Crystal ball does dumb things.
03:40If UNC can get Miami to stall a few times in the red zone, catch Miami looking ahead.
03:46And we haven't even mentioned this yet.
03:48This is a classic look ahead spot.
03:50Kev South bend next week.
03:53Number one versus number five.
03:55It's there.
03:56Miami has to go to Chapel Hill first.
03:58Now again, Miami can win this game 40 to 10 and nobody would be surprised, but you're
04:02giving me 14 and a half points, two plus touchdowns with a North Carolina team who has a good
04:08defense, who has a six time Superbowl winning coach in a spot where this would make, you
04:15said it biggest win since Brady's.
04:18I don't remember anything Belichick did after Brady left.
04:20And so would most Patriot fans biggest win in a decade for him.
04:25They have the ingredients to get it done.
04:28And we all know crystal ball becomes crystal ball in some spots.
04:31Again, Miami could win this game.
04:33Miami could win this game 40 to 10 and be whatever.
04:36I'm going to take the 14 and a half.
04:38It is a look ahead spot.
04:39I think North Carolina can keep it close.
04:41They did it versus Notre Dame.
04:42And I think you're looking at a scenario where Miami wins, but maybe it's like Wake Forest
04:47and Wake Forest keeps it a little bit close and covers at the end of the game with a little
04:51bit of a backdoor.
