00:00Welcome along to a latest update from the Met Office.
00:03A grey Sunday for many of us, but there are some places enjoying some sunnier skies.
00:09Thanks to high pressure, there's not a lot of rain around.
00:11But this weather front is dribbling southwards and bringing some damp conditions
00:15over parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in particular as it continues to track southwards,
00:19also bringing some patchy rain to parts of North Wales,
00:22maybe spreading down towards Worcestershire for a time too.
00:26One or two showers also coming into northern Scotland, but they're pretty light,
00:30pretty few and far between.
00:31Central, southern Scotland, northern Ireland enjoying some decent spells of sunshine.
00:35There's a bit of brightness further south as well through parts of southwest England,
00:39some sunshine, but generally a lot of cloud for England and Wales
00:43and that fairly dull and damp weather from that weather front
00:46just extending into parts of the East Midlands by the end of the afternoon.
00:50The breeze picking up down these North Sea coasts, bringing a cooler feel.
00:53temperatures here may struggle to get much above 10 or 11 Celsius,
00:57certainly feeling cooler in East Yorkshire with that drizzly rain persisting.
01:01And if the mist and fog lingers, well, temperatures may struggle further,
01:05but generally with a bit of brightness, getting up to 13, 14 degrees in Northern Ireland,
01:10South Wales and southwest England.
01:12As we go through the evening, that rain and drizzle will continue to trickle southwards,
01:16turning up across East Anglia and spreading into southern counties of England.
01:19Ahead of it could see some mist and fog forming.
01:22Behind it, generally clear skies for much of southern Scotland,
01:25Northern Ireland, Northern England and Wales.
01:28Just a few showers continuing to feed in across parts of northeast England and northern Scotland.
01:34And that breeze is still fairly noticeable on some of those North Sea coasts.
01:38As we head further west, we're right in the middle of that area of high pressure.
01:43And here the winds are light.
01:44And so with clear skies, it will actually turn quite chilly in this zone.
01:47Some pockets of frost certainly likely over the west of Northern Ireland and parts of southwest Scotland,
01:52although Glasgow and Belfast should stay a few degrees above freezing.
01:56But certainly a colder start to the working week with, as I say, some pockets of frost around.
02:01There'll be showers coming down the eastern side of England, Lincolnshire, East Anglia.
02:05Seeing quite a few showers actually across Norfolk throughout the course of Monday.
02:09Some will feed into the home counties through the afternoon all set.
02:13Many places, though, again, looking dry.
02:15And certainly in the west, we'll see some good spells of sunshine once more.
02:19West Wales having a sunnier day compared to today for sure.
02:23That breeze, though, will make it feel a bit cooler.
02:26Temperatures mostly tend to 12 degrees Celsius and certainly feeling fresher than 13 on those eastern coasts
02:32with that strengthening wind, which will become more of a feature of the weather throughout the week.
02:36Still a few showers coming into the southeast and east Anglia during Monday evenings rush hour.
02:41Perhaps a few more filtering down into southeast Scotland as well.
02:45So some showers around during Monday nights, but overall high pressure remains in control for most of this week.
02:52As it waddles its way to the north, the ice bars squeeze together and the easterly winds will pick up.
02:57Getting quite noticeable, I suggest, this wind along southernmost counties of England and south Wales,
03:03particularly through the middle part of the week.
03:04That will bring something of a chill, I suspect.
03:07The high pressure isn't going to bring much rain, of course,
03:10which isn't good news after such a long, dry spell over recent months.
