00:00I want to ask you about, you know, your Eagles here.
00:02And at the end of the season, the game yesterday was just a train wreck.
00:08It was just a train wreck for the Eagles here.
00:11At the end of the year, Kevin, can you fire a coach with a 670 win percentage
00:17who has made the playoffs every year, has two NFC championships to his name
00:22in a Super Bowl, can you not give that guy a mulligan for the injuries on the team?
00:28So I think you can because they've considered firing him, what,
00:33three of the last four years, right?
00:36Even in the Super Bowl year.
00:39Yeah, they certainly considered firing him the year that they lost to Tampa Bay
00:43in the first round and last year after losing to the Niners.
00:48So here we are again.
00:51And I think a good amount of Sirianni's undoing is that he doesn't do
00:57anything.
00:58And people are like, oh, that's so harsh, man.
01:00Well, he doesn't.
01:03He's an offensive guy who doesn't call the plays but does seem to meddle
01:09in the offense a little bit to make things uneasy for everyone.
01:16Do you know how insane it is for a quarterback in Jalen Hurts,
01:19has this long history, new coordinator every year,
01:22but his head coach is an offensive guy?
01:25And every year people have to wonder what's going to happen with the offense.
01:29Like, that's not a good recipe.
01:31And if Sirianni's not going to call the plays,
01:34well, then he has to make good in-game decisions.
01:38I have watched that part of his coaching acumen slip.
01:43He used to be on it.
01:44He is not anymore.
01:46And the best evidence of that might be the fact that the tush push is now
01:50actively, in my opinion, a negative play.
01:53This is just life, right?
01:56What's old is new.
01:58And people have now remembered that actually we don't need to do a tush push
02:03and create a mosh pit.
02:04Just sneak the ball.
02:05Just line up in five wide and sneak the darn thing.
02:10It's that simple.
02:12And then the other item, right?
02:14So we don't call the plays.
02:15We don't make good game decisions.
02:17I get my guys to play for me.
02:20Well, will you tell me, Dan?
02:21You tell me.
02:22You've been in the locker rooms.
02:23Does it look like Nick Sirianni is getting his guys to play for him this season?
02:27No, no, no, not at all.
02:29And on top of that, Kevin,
02:31I think the one void that they're missing is this.
02:34You know, when you lose Fletcher Cox,
02:36you lose Jason Kelsey,
02:38you lose Lane Johnson,
02:39you lose all of those leaders
02:41and those veteran guys that were in the locker room
02:44when stuff hits the fan.
02:46You know what I'm talking?
02:47I think the one void that Nick has,
02:49Nick can't fill that void with leadership
02:52that he's supposed to have.
02:54And I think that's the one thing that this team is missing, too.
02:58When you need leadership,
02:59the coach has to fill that void, doesn't he?
03:02Well, this is where I think there are some folks
03:06who have to think about some of their Jalen Hurts opinions.
03:11This wouldn't look like this if Jalen was there.
03:13I promise you that.
03:15This would not look like this.
03:16And there are some people who thought that,
03:19oh, give Tanner McKee a chance.
03:20Hope you're enjoying it.
03:22Kid's unplayable.
03:23Kid's absolutely unplayable.
03:25And I understand it's not the greatest situation.
03:27The offensive line is banged up.
03:29Wide receivers are hurt.
03:30I'm not a fool, okay?
03:31And it's not like Jalen Hurts was out there
03:33putting up 300 yards a game and four times.
03:34I understand, okay?
03:38But everyone can, I think,
03:39I think agree on the intangible stuff with Hurts.
03:43And they've lost six games in a row.
03:46And let's be real.
03:47Their first two wins of the season
03:49were by, what, two to Washington.
03:51They missed a two-point conversion to tie it.
03:53And then the comeback against the Titans.
03:55I mean, they're not the furthest away
03:58from being the Chargers, right?
04:00I mean, they're really not.
04:02They're a bottom five in football right now.
04:07Here's a number that will shock people.
04:10They're a game and a half right now
04:12from being the number one overall pick.
04:14But they're also a game and a half
04:17out from being in first place in the NFC East,
04:21which makes it even more wild.
04:23It shows you where the NFL is today.
04:25Yeah.
04:26The NFC East piece of it, though,
04:28this is just my outlook, guys.
04:29It's like, they are clearly the worst team
04:34in the division right now.
04:37And a bad team will win this division,
04:40but it doesn't mean that the Eagles have to think
04:42they're going to win this division.
04:43And they're not going to win this division.
04:46I thought one of the more telling moments
04:49was a reporter asked Sirianni if Devonta Smith
04:53was going to be shut down for the season two weeks ago.
04:56That wasn't a question that had crossed my mind.
04:59But Sirianni didn't...
05:02If Sirianni would have responded,
05:04that's a dumb question,
05:06then I'm like, yeah, of course it's a dumb...
05:08He didn't respond like that.
05:10He's like, yeah, we're going to have to wait
05:11and see what goes...
05:12Huh?
05:13Week five?
05:15You might shut down Devonta Smith.
05:17So I just think the writing...
05:19This got away from them fast, man.
05:22This got away from these guys fast.
05:26And look, I thought they would cover last night.
05:28I was right for 90% of the game.
05:31So that was annoying.
05:33But this team losing games...
05:35I expect them to lose games now.
05:37I expect them to lose on a week...
05:40They're a home underdog to J.J. McCarthy next week.
05:44Like, it's not great.
