00:00continue on topic but now let's move to boston where our colleague dan albright also has a
00:05report for us on how the elections are continuing although they have yet to start welcome dan
00:13hey good morning uh and to our uh audience at home as well i'm here in massachusetts 6th district
00:20uh where the only uh open congress seat is going to be uh where voters will send a new
00:27a congressperson to um to washington um of course it will likely be a democrat but nonetheless
00:37there was an open primary this year after seth moulton decided to ran for senate and lost
00:46you can't see but over here the parking lot is completely full voters getting in their votes
00:52before work um it is looking like it's going to be a very busy day um polls just opened at
01:017 a.m here
01:02and they go until uh 7 p.m tonight here in boston in the boston area um big motivation for
01:10voters
01:10president trump uh last night he made the unusual choice of making his closing argument at the site
01:18of his troubled uh memorial reflecting pool a project touting his work there and on uh major
01:27grand renovations in dc so the president clearly thinks this election is about him um his party however
01:36is hoping that voters don't agree with him um in recent weeks trump and high profile surrogates for
01:44uh republicans were um notably campaigning in uh republican territory uh mississippi south carolina florida
01:54iowa um could be a sign of being on the defense rather than going to the battlegrounds uh 57 million
02:03voters uh voted before in early voting and uh mail-in ballots uh that could be a good sign for
02:11democrats
02:12because it's 25 about 25 percent more than the early voting in 2022 under biden um i say that could
02:23be a good
02:23sign because uh polls uh last week showed that enthusiasm among democrats is about 49 percent uh to go vote
02:34while for republicans is 33 percent uh democrats are looking to pick up uh four seats at least in the
02:42house which it seems they'll um far surpass that um as well as four seats in the senate in order
02:51to take
02:51control um according to the final time sienna um polling uh democrats are ahead in um all senate battlegrounds
03:03michigan texas maine ohio ohio ohio and kansas um where also uh in alaska and iowa they're ahead
03:15but it's within the margin of error prediction markets have democrats winning at 94 chance of taking the
03:26the house and a 74 chance now uh in the senate so we'll be watching closely all day and providing
03:35you the updates back to you thank you dan also for the early report we'll stay in touch in upcoming
03:40newsroom as well as well as for the follow-ups on how the midterm selections are
03:45you
