00:00Let's talk about the most important tournament of football in the world, the Champions League, the Champions!
00:07And what a bunch of games we have tomorrow. There's some games today, but I'm going to focus on the
00:11ones tomorrow,
00:11so you have an idea of what's going to happen.
00:14And for me, the biggest game of this day, without a doubt, is Leipzig versus Manchester City.
00:22Manchester City requires to win this game to continue being at the top of the standings,
00:27and Leipzig is a strong team. I like them for an upset.
00:31Now, Real Madrid has an easy game. They most likely will win.
00:37Humberto, we were talking, Mbappé didn't go the nod as best player, the Ballon d'Or.
00:44He's going to come out trying to make a statement, and Real Madrid is in a different place.
00:48Now, they come from defeating Barcelona in the Clásico, and now they have an easy game outside.
00:54I think that this is the moment that Real Madrid takes a commanding leap to the top of the standings.
00:59Yeah, how does the mentality shift from when you're playing your league games to the Champions League?
01:02Because it just, you know, it's, when it comes to American sports, you're staying within the league.
01:08Yeah.
01:09Outside tournaments usually happen, you know, at a different part of the season.
01:12So, for them to have, hey, we're playing for the Premier League or La Liga.
01:17And then go to Champions.
01:19And then you shift to the Champions where you're in a different place in the standings.
01:23Oh, this is a different place.
01:24So, you might go from a leader to a trailer. How does the mentality shift?
01:27Here's the thing. As a soccer player, this is what you live for.
01:30There's nothing higher in your mind than to experience the midweek games of Champions League.
01:36This is the, this is the, this is the pantheon. This is the highest that it gets.
01:41You're going to go to any stadium in Europe and you're going to face the top teams of any country.
01:47And you have to prove why you are the best.
01:49Only the top teams compete in this competition.
01:52So, when Wednesday, I think for me, I will say that most of the players plan their workloads around Champions
01:59League,
01:59even more so than the Domestic League, because winning the Champions by far.
02:03For the teams that are fighting to win the Champions, the local tournament is almost like a given.
02:10You know, we're talking about the teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich.
02:13As we can see, Paris Saint-Germain.
02:16Liverpool and Aston Villa are, you know, maybe right now they're over-indexing in Champions compared to their local tournaments.
02:24The same with Real Betis and Stuttgart.
02:26But that's the beauty of Champions League.
02:29They play eight games in a league setting and then the top 16 advance on a seed and the middle
02:3524 compete on a play-in.
02:38The winners join the top 16 in elimination.
02:42I'm seeing a lot more Bundesliga.
02:43That's the German league.
02:44Yeah, the German, yes.
02:44Stuttgart, I'm assuming, is from there, yeah?
02:46Correct.
02:47So how do you compare the Bundesliga, the French league to the Spanish and the English league, which are thought
02:56to be the top of the league?
02:57I mean, the ranking is clear.
02:59Premier League, the English league is at the top.
03:01After that, La Liga.
03:02Then I will say the German league and finally the French league.
