Voters took to the polls on Tuesday in Colombus, Ohio, where crunch battles for governor and senator are underway, as well as for 15 House seats after the state's congressional map was redrawn.

Former Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown is hoping to overcome incumbent Republican Jon Husted, while Republican Vivek Ramaswamy is taking on Democrat Dr. Amy Acton in the race for Governor to succeed Republican incumbent Mike DeWine, whose term is coming to an end. A vital constitutional amendment on voter ID was also put to the vote.

Election Protection member Michael said he signed up after feeling 'disturbed' over 'concerning things' enacted by the government, while hitting out at Democrats for allowing bills to pass.

"The current felon in the White House has only been able to do what he's been able to do because of what I call collaborators, and I use that word advisedly," he claimed, pointing to the war with Iran and suggesting voters will show their disapproval in the polls.

"I don't think the current administration has any real interest in ending the war. If they really did, they wouldn't have started it in the first place. I think what's going to happen in this election, if it goes the way it seems to be going, is the people of our country will say, we never asked you to fight this war," he stated.

Locals from both sides of the divide also shared highly-polarised views, concerns and frustration over aspects of the platform and record of both parties.

"I see a turning point here. One direction I feel very uncomfortable about. And the other direction I feel a little more comfortable about," explained Republican supporter Dave, criticising Democrat 'hatred' towards Trump but admitting that he is not satisfied with the Trump administration over its approach to the war in Ukraine.

"I don't feel we've supplied proper support for them, and neither party does anything to satisfy me in that area," he noted.

Fellow Republican supporter Diana insisted the GOP would help to "keep things on an even keel," but expressed reservations over aspects of the Republican administration.

"I don't know it's for or against anything specifically. It's more I think against the policies we had in the past. So it's not really for or against Trump, because some of the policies I don't agree with," she explained, stating that putting Israel "in front of the US" is 'not right', which she said she felt too many of those currently in office are doing.

Meanwhile, Democrat supporters expressed hardline views on the Trump administration, which one labelled as "scumbags and criminals," while another blasted the government as "wretched, totally incompetent and corrupt."

"It's going to hopefully reshape where things are going and make them better," said Pam, adding that she has reservations over whether Ohio representatives will be able to impact the nation's political course.

"For the actual candidates themselves, you know, you got to look and see what they're going to do,"

00:16I see a turning point here. One direction I feel very uncomfortable about and the other
00:23direction I feel a little more comfortable about. I am very disappointed in the people
00:30who demonstrate their hate for Trump and an example of that was during the State of
00:36the Union when a military member who gave a part of his body for our country stood
00:43up to receive an award and the Democrats did not stand up except for one. I'm not
00:51happy with the way the war has been handled by our country in Ukraine. I don't feel
00:59we've supplied proper support for them and I neither party does anything to
01:07satisfy me in that area.
01:13My opponent's policy have been miserable for us. As a family of three kids it has
01:19the economy is on the floor so we need somebody who can help us. Yes, Israel have
01:25too much influence and our portfolio influence which is not right. America should
01:29be first. I will trust the result because I've voted I've seen it at first place I
01:35have to be a US citizen to be allowed even to enter the whole and vote.
01:44It is very consequential because the middle class is really suffering at this time. I will trust
01:51the results of the mid-term because I know even though they're talking about recollections
01:56all the time. The statistics have showed that it's minimal. Ohio, I mean, I love Ohio. I've lived in Ohio
02:06for
02:06most of my life, you know, so this is my state and I would like to see a state that
02:12is more accommodating.
02:20I think it's so consequential because so much is happening within our world and our
02:24nation and because of everything that happened in the past we have to look
02:29towards the future to keep things on an even keel.
02:35I don't know if it's for or against anything specifically. It's just how it's
02:40more, I think it's more against the policies we had in the past. So it's not
02:45really for or against Trump because some of the policies I don't agree with.
02:50And if you go and put the state of Israel in front of the United States of
02:55America, that's not right. And we have too many people in our office right now that does that.
03:07We have seen a lot of concerning things get enacted and enforced in ways that are very disturbing to me
03:20personally, which is one of the reasons I'm standing in this parking lot in Franklin County, Ohio.
03:26It's not either or in my opinion. It's both. And what I'll say about the second part of the question
03:34is
03:35the current felon in the White House has only been able to do what he's been able to do
03:42because of what I call collaborators. And I use that word advisably. I don't think the
03:47current administration has any real interest in ending the war. If they really did, they
03:53wouldn't have started it in the first place. I think what's going to happen in this election,
03:58if it goes the way it seems to be going, is the people of our country will say,
04:04we never asked you to fight this war. We never asked to fight this war.
04:13Because it's going to shape the country. It's going to
04:18hopefully reshape where things are going and make them better.
04:23You know, they're scumbags and criminals. Sorry.
04:28Some of both. And a lot for the actual candidates themselves. You know,
04:34you got to look and see what they're going to do.
04:38It is wretched and totally incompetent and what's that? Corrupt. Yeah.
