00:00NFL overreaction or reality, of course, he's here to always let us know what really matters.
00:05Overreaction or reality, you do not want the Cowboys to make any more additions prior to the NFL trade deadline.
00:15Six days away.
00:17Overreaction.
00:18Oh, really?
00:19Look, dude, I told you yesterday, I'm going to try and salvage this table no matter what.
00:25Okay.
00:25No matter how bad this table looks, and it was my own fault for destroying this table because I didn't
00:31know how to put the table together.
00:33This is an analogy.
00:35I understand.
00:36For the Cowboys.
00:37Right.
00:37This table's falling apart.
00:39I get it.
00:40Actually, Kevin, when I opened the package to this table, it looked like there were broken parts when I opened.
00:46I should have said it back then.
00:47I understand the analogy of the table being the Cowboys.
00:52However, I don't want to give up on any season.
00:55Because you love this busted table.
00:57It's your Charlie Brown Christmas tree.
00:59I couldn't wait to see this table.
01:00When I ordered this table, Kevin, my first thought was, this will be the best table.
01:08Maybe we've had better tables before.
01:10You stop it.
01:12But I, no, I keep, again, honestly, keep adding talent to your roster you need to.
01:18Now, is that going to sacrifice the younger future talent that you might not be able to draft anyway down
01:23the road?
01:23Yeah, probably.
01:24Um, but if you want to win right now, you need certain players on this team to be better.
01:31All right, Alec.
01:34Please don't say anything about tables.
01:36Overreaction or reality, you don't want the Cowboys to make any more additions prior to the NFL trade deadline.
01:43You know what, Kevin?
01:44I'm going to turn the tables a little bit here.
01:45And I'm going to say that I am going to go against what Corey said.
01:50I'm going to go with the reality because I don't often agree with this dude, but he said something yesterday.
01:56I didn't even know he had a podcast.
01:58Chris Collinsworth was talking about Cowboys.
02:01Yeah, I didn't know that.
02:02And I'm not the biggest fan of when he speaks.
02:05But, um, he's, he was talking about the Cowboys and he said, I kind of agree with Jerry where it's
02:12like, Hey, I did the heavy lifting for you.
02:14That's your turn to figure it out.
02:15Right.
02:15I figured it out.
02:17It's your turn.
02:17I've put the pieces in place, whether it's Joey Porter Jr.
02:21I mean, heck, Rashawn Gary, that was an acquisition that did happen.
02:25Jalen Thompson, you drafted two defenders in the first round.
02:29The offense, you brought everybody back in one piece.
02:32It's your turn to figure it out.
02:34Go figure it out.
02:35I will say this.
02:37He has a point there.
02:38I still think that when Jerry Jones did that, he didn't complete the mission.
02:43Okay.
02:43We, we talked about it.
02:45There, there were still missing things on this defense that were left bad beforehand.
02:51Right.
02:51It's like when the coach comes in and goes, what do you need?
02:53And he's like, all right, I need this, this, this, and this.
02:55And he's like, you get this though.
02:56And you didn't get, you didn't finish building this team.
03:00Uh, but I do agree with the, the idea of at some point your players have to show you that
03:07they deserve the addition.
03:09Okay.
03:09And so far, this team has done nothing to show you that they can play up to the level of
03:15the Seahawks or even the Cardinals.
03:18Yeah.
03:18No, I, I'm okay.
03:20I, I stick with, I, I love that idea of rewarding your players for good work.
03:25And so far, they haven't shown you anything.
03:27Overreaction or reality.
03:29The Commanders win over the Eagles was the start of a turnaround for Washington that can put them back in
03:35the divisional race.
03:36No.
03:41Um, no.
03:43They're not a good football team.
03:45They have problems, just as many problems as the Cowboys.
03:49They're trying to hope that, you know, Sonny Stiles can turn that defense around all alone.
03:54And he's got a secondary that's just like, we don't want to try and help you.
03:58And yet their win percentage is almost exactly the same as the Cowboys.
04:01I'm not saying the Cowboys are good.
04:03Okay, good.
04:04See, that's a, that's a problem.
04:05We take a shot at a quarterback that exists out there and people text, what about Dak?
04:10You're like, what, what is, what did that have to do with Dak?
04:13And on the flip side, if you say Dak has been missing on long passes, people are like, boy, did
04:18you have to play perfect?
04:19No.
04:20But be better at deep passes.
04:23That doesn't feel like a crazy opinion.
04:25Alec!
04:26Don't underthrow him all the time.
04:27Yeah, that was a definitive answer.
04:30We go to you.
04:30Overreaction or reality?
04:32The Commanders win over the Eagles.
04:34Was it the start of a turnaround for Washington that can put them back in the divisional race?
04:39Absolutely not.
04:40It's still a miserable football team.
04:43I feel bad for Jaden Daniels as much as I've crapped on him after the whole Jersey fiasco.
04:49I think he's been playing some pretty good football.
04:51And I see those flashes, especially on the downfield passes of like 15, 20 plus yards, where I'm like, that
04:58is a really talented football player that is throwing to nobody.
05:03There is no talent on that team right now.
05:06It is so decimated.
05:08It's an ugly roster.
05:10I feel really bad for him.
05:11It was a fun win to watch.
05:13It was a really good game.
05:15But hey, running back by committee, all of that, that roster is just gross.
05:21NFL overreaction or reality?
05:23This has moved up all season.
05:25It was top five, then it was top, excuse me, top ten, then top five.
05:29Now this.
05:30The Los Angeles Chargers will have the number one pick in the 2027 NFL draft.
05:37Oh yeah, 100%.
05:38Ooh, interface Dolphins.
05:41Or whoever.
05:43The Dolphins are very good at tanking.
05:45They are.
05:46Like, they make you think for like three quarters, dude, no block, no rock is a thing.
05:52And then they're like, watch this.
05:55You thought the Cowboys flamed out in the fourth quarter.
05:59We'll figure it out.
06:00But no, it's just because of the putrid offense that the Chargers have.
06:08Their defense is actually pretty good.
06:10Right.
06:10Their offense is atrocious.
06:14Alec, it's taking us a while to get here, but overreaction or reality?
06:18The Los Angeles Chargers will have the number one pick in the 2027 NFL draft.
06:24I'm saying reality because I want to see the chaos that comes because of it.
06:29I want to see, do they dangle Justin Herbert in trade conversations?
06:33That is a great question.
06:34And then, what if they say, nah, we paid this guy for a reason, he's our champion, Jim Harbaugh,
06:41he's going to get him in the Hall of Fame, like he said.
06:43So then do they actually take calls on the number one pick?
06:47What does that conversation look like?
06:49I'm here for all the chaos.
06:51Please get the number one pick.
06:53I have a question for you.
06:54Yep.
06:55And I know they're at the number four pick.
06:59Oh, that number, that pick goes to the Jets, so never mind.
07:03The Jets have three top ten picks right now.
07:05Dude, it's insane.
07:06I was looking at the Colts and trying to figure out if they were able to get the number one
07:10overall pick.
07:11Right.
07:12Would Arch leave and Peyton take over as the GM and he immediately drafts that guy?
07:18Holy overdraft.
07:19But they would have to do that in the second round.
07:23Overreaction or reality, the Dallas Cowboys are now the team other teams look at on the
07:28schedule as their get right game.
07:30Yep.
07:31I mean, think about this.
07:32If you're the Colts right now.
07:33Oh, yeah, I get it.
07:35You're the Colts and you're like, dude, we are awful.
07:39The first reason we know we're awful is Daniel Jones is our quarterback.
07:43We should have known in the first place.
07:45Secondly, our GM owner is like, let's get rid of everything.
07:50Let's go ahead and trade.
07:51Let's fire sale this thing.
07:53And we have played.
07:55But you've played close games against some of these opponents out there.
07:59Like they've been close matches.
08:01You're looking at it going, before we give up this year, why don't we go out there and
08:07put good tape out there for everybody to see that we're good against the team that's going
08:14to be watched the most.
08:15Right.
08:16How cool of a feather in our cap will it be for at least one week to be like, we
08:21beat
08:21the Cowboys.
08:22Everybody will be talking about them and nobody will be talking about us.
08:25No.
08:26Oh.
08:27So, yeah.
08:27Yeah.
08:27The Cowboys are a get right team.
08:29Yeah.
08:29I wonder what Steven would think about that.
08:31All right.
08:31Alec, overreaction or reality, the Dallas Cowboys are the team other teams look at on the schedule
08:38as their get right game.
08:40We're just focused on Indianapolis, Kevin.
08:42We're not here to talk about hypotheticals.
08:45No, I think they do.
08:47And it's unfortunate because it's become a trend and especially the second half collapse.
08:53I think teams can kind of zero in on that and say, hey, they're getting lucky here and
08:59there.
08:59They're getting some pressure early on in the game, but their depth and lack thereof is
09:03showing its ugly face in the second half.
09:06When Caleb Downs and Joey Porter aren't on the field, bad things are happening to that
09:10defense.
09:11I think there is a book out there on how to beat this team and how to beat them pretty
09:15simply.
09:15I think we might have talked about this last week, but from the 9-4-0, trade Herbert straight
09:20up for Dak so I can see what Herbert can do with anything with weapons.
09:24We said that was one of the rare trades where we feel like both teams would say no.
09:29I think they would both say no to that.
09:31Hey, man.
09:32I do.
09:32I really do think that he doesn't have anything to throw to.
09:38That's an absolute fact.
09:40I also think, Ted Wynn said the other day that he doesn't think he's in the right office
09:44system either.
09:44And that's a problem if you don't know what system your quarterback belongs in.
09:49Agreed.
09:50All right.
09:51I'm interested in what y'all say about this.
09:53Because Brada said that, I'm sorry, Brada said that yesterday about the Cowboys.
09:57He was like, I think the scariest thing is not knowing your team.
10:00Yeah.
10:00And we're halfway, essentially, through the season.
10:04All right.
10:05Corey, overreaction or reality?
10:08Trevor Lawrence is in the midst of a career-redefining season.
10:12So he's the first quarterback with three passing touchdowns on fewer than 15 pass attempts in
10:1811 years.
10:20He is top 10 in the NFL, in QBR, third in touchdown passes, but probably just as important.
10:27His team looks like they're pretty darn good.
10:30What's the question again?
10:32He's...
10:32Trevor Lawrence is in the midst of a career-redefining season.
10:37Yes, I think that's true.
10:39Does that have to come with...
10:40That only happens, though, with playoff success, too, right?
10:48Yes, but this is now two years of winning.
10:52Right.
10:53Which, like, before it was, they won once, and then there was like three years surrounding
10:57it that were miserable.
10:59And you could blame the coaching staff they hired with...
11:01There's a lot of things you could just feel like.
11:03There's a lot of dysfunction around him.
11:06And right now, it looks like there's some stability.
11:08How do you do in stability?
11:10I think that career-defining, after this year, like, without playoff success, would be like,
11:16okay, now we need to see some playoff success from you.
11:19But career-defining would be like, dude, you just put two really good years together as
11:23a team, too.
11:25And look what Liam Cohen has been able to build there.
11:28So, Kevin, I think that, yes, he has changed for the positive.
11:33And a lot of teams would love to have him, knowing that you build some stability around
11:38a quarterback.
11:39Man, just think about that, dude.
11:40Put some stability around your team.
11:43And look at how much it changes everything for them.
11:45What a wild concept, indeed.
11:48All right, Alec, we go to you.
11:50Overreaction or reality?
11:52Trevor Lawrence is in the midst of a career-redefining season.
11:56Reality, he's not turning the ball over.
11:59He's averaging almost a full yard and a half more per completion compared to any other
12:05season in his career.
12:07He's not getting sacked a ton, either.
12:09He's staying upright, which he might actually get sacked for the least amount of times in
12:16his career for a single season this year.
12:19Like, everything is going perfect for him in that offense.
12:22And so, like Corey said, Liam Cohen has absolutely identified what he does very, very well and
12:28put him in positions to do that.
12:30That team is very good.
12:32And I'm excited to see who they can play upset to.
12:34When you asked that question originally, my brain immediately started thinking of where
12:38he's ranked right now.
12:39Like, where would I put him?
12:41Sure.
12:42And I know he's top 10.
12:45I don't know that I have him top 5.
12:47Do you think going into the season, that was a unanimous...
12:50No, I don't even close.
12:51Yeah.
12:53Close?
12:54Was that Uberflus?
12:55Uberflus.
12:56Not even Uberclus.
12:56Not even Uberclus.
12:58Yeah, no.
12:58He wasn't even close to the top.
13:00He was maybe like a top 14.
13:02I could see that, yeah.
13:04But right now, would I say Josh Allen, Purdy Burrow?
13:10Would I throw Jared Goff in front of him?
13:13Caleb Williams.
13:14Stafford.
13:15Uberflus.
13:16I don't know if I have Stafford there right now.
13:18Ooh, okay.
13:19Caleb Williams, I would.
13:20Ooh, yeah.
13:21Would I have Jordan Love in front of him?
13:23I think I might have Trevor in front, but both behind Caleb for the moment.
13:28So that's my brain immediately went, oh, is he a top 3?
13:30You know what?
13:30No, no, no, no.
13:31But top 5?
13:33Yeah.
13:34Top 7?
13:35Okay.
13:36Top 8?
13:36Okay.
13:37I feel like, not Steve DeBerg, I feel like top 7, with the potential of top 5, would
13:42be a big step forward.
13:44So is that career redefining when you were, people were like, man, I don't even know if
13:46he's 18.
13:47Exactly.
13:47I think it is.
13:49But if it comes with a trip to the AFC Championship game, I know it is.
13:53You're right.
13:54Okay.
13:54Okay.
