US sanctions on firms aiding Iran: the Treasury Department has imposed fresh sanctions on companies and people in India and Turkey accused of helping Iran.
Washington says the action targets a network run by India-based businessman Suniel Kumar Sharma, his wife, and two other Indian citizens, along with nine linked companies, accused of giving false flags and certificates to ships carrying Iranian oil. Turkey-based Fugo Ground Services was also sanctioned for supporting sanctioned Iranian airlines, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned the US will keep going after anyone supporting Tehran, by land, sea, or air.
