00:30I am so grateful to be here today to be able to look into my right and my left and
00:35say hello to Senator-elect Stratton and everybody that's up here.
00:45You know, even while we wait for the final couple of votes to be counted across the country, it's already
00:50obvious that Americans have sent a very clear message.
00:53There's a couple of races out there still that we think we're going to win.
00:57Last night, Americans sent a very, very clear message.
01:00They are sick of Donald Trump's bullshit.
01:08They are tired of him promising one thing in the morning, then going back on his word by the afternoon.
01:14And they are done with him putting his self-interest over our national interest.
01:18So we're here today to let those folks know that we hear them, that we see them, and that we
01:24are with them, that we are just as pissed off as they are,
01:28and that with Juliana joining our ranks in D.C., we are going to use every seat we gained to
01:33fight back against Trump and fight for what Americans' families really need.
01:38The reality is, from utility bills to grocery bills, from health care to child care, far too many Americans feel
01:47like they're one bad day, one doctor's appointment, one stop at the gas pump away from disaster.
01:54Far too many fifth-generation farmers have told me that they can't sleep at night because they don't know if
01:59they can hold on long enough to hand the farm to a sixth generation.
02:03And meanwhile, Trump has quite literally said that, and I quote, give a damn about inflation so long as it
02:11makes him a fortune.
02:13And every day, his action shows that he means it.
02:16Well, I give a damn.
02:19We give a damn about Americans.
02:28That is why you better believe that in this next Congress, we're going to fight to hold Donald Trump accountable
02:34and deliver real results for families.
02:37It's going to be our priority to restore the ACA tax credits and cancel Trump's cuts to Medicaid.
02:43Cuts that are set to kick millions off their health care plans and put hundreds of hospitals at risk of
02:49closure, just so Donald Trump can hand Elon Musk and the big tech billionaires massive tax breaks.
02:56We are going to work to pass bills that drive down everyday costs for middle-class families, bills that look
03:02out for the people we've been sent to Washington to serve.
03:04Because I've been that little girl whose parents didn't know how they were going to afford enough bread to make
03:10sandwiches for the next week.
03:12So I refuse to let any Americans feel like they're falling through the cracks.
03:17And we're going to keep using every lever we have to force Donald Trump to end his illegal war with
03:24Iran, a war that no one wanted, one that has killed at least 23 of our finest heroes, our service
03:31members.
03:31It has crashed our economy and put our country in more, not less danger.
03:37Because unlike that five-time draft-dodging coward in the White House, we would never use our troops as political
03:44pawns.
03:45And we refuse to let one man's personal insecurities trump our national security.
03:51So let me just close with this.
03:53These priorities only scratch the surface of the mountain of things we need to get done in the next two
03:58years.
03:58Because Americans don't just want a repair job.
04:02They don't want a patch job.
04:03They need and they deserve a top-to-bottom renovation.
04:08They deserve us not to just fight back against this administration, but to fight for them.
04:14To fight for policies that will better their everyday lives, things like universal child care, affordable housing,
04:21and every hopeful parent's right to access IVF.
04:26And when I become senior senator in January, with Juliana by my side in D.C.
04:31and JB as our partner here in Illinois, we were in a fight like hell for that more perfect union
04:37that I know we can achieve.
