Indian equity markets marked a historic milestone as the total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies crossed the 500 lakh crore rupees mark. The Sensex rallied 2,100 points, extending its winning streak to six sessions, while the Nifty climbed back above the 24,540 mark led by strong gains across financial services, automobiles, and real estate sectors. Meanwhile, corporate developments saw internal friction at Sir Dorabji Tata Trust as former trustee Mally Mistry challenged his removal, raising governance concerns against Venu Srinivasan. Cybersecurity agency CERT-In also flagged high-severity vulnerabilities in Tata Motors' connected car applications, prompting the automaker to roll out necessary software patches. In commodity markets, gold and silver traded significantly lower ahead of Dhanteras following sharp corrections from their January peaks, while Adani Ports announced the acquisition of European liquid storage firm EVOS BV for an enterprise value of 2.56 billion euros.

03:40sharad bom welcome uh good afternoon to you and uh happy festivities happy dhanteras and diwali
03:46look at how the fireworks are coming in onto the market sixth the day of gains coming in
03:50and a historic milestone bsc listed market cap crossing 500 lakh crore rupees mark for the very
03:56first time do we have to thank uh donald trump's loss for this yeah certainly i think a man like
04:04him
04:05losing should be good news for everyone i think uh i was expecting the markets to rejoice yesterday only
04:11but uh probably the u.s was a bit more skeptical about whether he would really go out or not
04:16uh people i think still have fear of what uh donald would end up doing even after losing the elections
04:23he could be a a finicky loser or a sore loser you could call him but i think uh now
04:29today when the u.s
04:30markets have moved the type of reaction that we have received i think it's largely confirmed that
04:34uh his wings are more or less clipped and uh most probably the social media era of volatility in
04:40the market uh will be put to rest for some time absolutely hold that thought there sharanji we'll
04:48come to the market so much to discuss with you but we have to track this very important story on
04:52the
04:52tata group fresh controversy at tata trusts with former trustee meli mystery challenging his removal
04:58from sir dorabji tata trust mystery has now accused fellow trustee venus rinivasan of voting against
05:05his reappointment after his own tenure had ended questioning the validity of his decision also
05:10the he's also sought an inquiry into alleged commissions and conflict of interest issues within
05:16the trust let me go across to krishna kopalan with more details on the same krishna more developments
05:21coming in uh what does this latest information really mean what will happen next
05:27well it's interesting because it is srinivasan who voted meli mystery out in the first place so i
05:31think it's also an absolute affirmation that all is not well within a trust uh mystery has obviously
05:35raised very serious governance issues he's also questioned the citizenship i'm sorry noel tata but
05:41fundamentally i think all errors are being targeted at the industry was the person who voted him out
05:44i'm just going to bring up one particular point here there's obviously a lot going on because we
05:48have the upcoming tatasans board meeting the end of this month there's also another issue with
05:52venus srinivasan and the corporate governance allegations in terms of what's happening
05:55between him and chandra as has been reported by it in the media so we're speaking of multiple
05:59issues playing at the same time it'll be interesting to see how it plays out but fundamentally i think
06:03mystery is raised what he believes uh is a clear lack of corporate governance in the way tata trusts are
06:08functioning absolutely krishna thanks a lot for getting us all those developments i'm sure there is
06:13more news flow to come and we will continue to track this very closely for all our viewers on india
06:17today and business today with krishna they're tracking all those details but there is more trouble
06:22coming in uh for the tata group this time from tata motors yet again tata motors connected car apps
06:28are now facing a major cyber security scare the indian computer emergency response team cert in has
06:35flagged four high severity vulnerabilities in the ira 2.0 and ira.ev apps warning that hackers could
06:43potentially steal authentication credentials impersonate vehicle owners gain unauthorized
06:50access to vehicle related information and services the agency has advised users to update the latest
06:56versions karan dhar is now joining in with more details on the same uh karan go on and tell us
07:01what
07:02has the company really put out as an advisory and as a caution to all the tata motors consumers
07:07uh the owners of the vehicles as well and uh how is the company looking to resolve this big issue
07:14that
07:14has stepped up uh you know how much at risk are the consumers and users of tata motors who've been
07:19using these apps uh for their regular services that they do for the tata motors vehicles and so much of
07:25details go on there from personal data so that's right actually yesterday india's cyber security agency
07:31indian computer emergency response team or cert cert in flagged four security vulnerabilities in tata
07:39motors connected car apps these are called ira apps and these are for both ice and evs and these apps
07:45provide connected car services uh to uh these car uh to ice cars and ev cars and these include
07:52access to vehicle status health monitoring trip information and remote vehicle commands so uh in a
07:58vulnerability vulnerability note issued uh yesterday certs has classified this as high severity uh
08:03vulnerability so it said that this these flaws could allow hackers to obtain sensitive data or
08:10in person with the car owner and the agency has advised uh car owners to update their apps uh to
08:16address
08:16these issues so in a statement we just got from tata motors just right now uh tata motors has said
08:22that
08:22it has done its own assessment and it has found that customer data and vehicle related information
08:28remain secure and there's no evidence of unauthorized access or compromise of customer
08:33credentials personal information or vehicle related data and tata motors in a statement to business
08:39today has said that continuously monitors systems for potential vulnerabilities and is working
08:44and the tata motors passenger vehicles is working closely with cert uh the government cyber security
08:49agency on this uh and i'll just read from the code that the tata motors passenger vehicles has shared
08:55with us they said the vulnerability the vulnerabilities identified in applications have been addressed
09:00through software updates and enhanced security measures these updates are automatic automatically
09:05prompted when users open their respective applications and can be completed over the air within a few
09:10minutes the update rollout has been completed for all active users and we are proactively reaching out
09:17to remaining customers who are yet to complete the updates to ensure we had transition to
09:21the latest version is smooth unquote so tata motors is saying that they have addressed the issue and
09:27they've rolled out a new uh you know version of the app and customers can you know update get their
09:33apps updated back to you all right karan thanks a lot for getting us those details important details
09:38right there and for consumers and owners of tata motors vehicles i hope this information is something
09:43that you are taking note of do speak to your own dealers where you go for your regular services in
09:48case you're
09:49using these apps to ensure that all your data is safe and sound and to ensure that uh whenever
09:54you reach out to them uh you know your uh of course all the uh you know personal details are
09:59very well
10:00secure as well but uh let's uh shift focus to the markets back we have sharaji with us uh um
10:06sharaji
10:06there is just one more breaking news coming in i'll come to you in a bit uh there is this
10:10news coming in
10:11on adani ports to buy ebos of bb of netherlands adani is to buy 100 stake for 1.18 billion
10:20euros and adani
10:21is to buy the evos at 2.56 billion and uh enterprising enterprise value that is and evos is used
10:29second
10:29largest liquid storage company evos has also got a presence in five countries is what we are given to
10:35understand at the moment the stock has not reacted too much um at this point in time but there is
10:40a
10:40clear news of acquisition there uh coming in from the adani group adani ports to buy evos bb of
10:48netherlands to buy 100 stake for 1.18 billion euros and to buy at 2.56 billion enterprise value a
10:55second
10:56largest liquid storage company of europe is with a presence in five countries is being acquired by adani
11:02ports as well but uh sharaji to you uh with the markets now coming back in full force give us
11:08an
11:08understanding of how are you pencilling in what's ahead uh a lot of uh you know viewers are taking
11:14this sharp move with a pinch of salt as to whether this will be sustainable or will profit taking yet
11:19again uh take shape what's your sense there uh and uh you know for the new samvathia uh any projections
11:24for the markets i think uh for some people angur khattai is the right answer so i think
11:31um there are many people who are searching for a lot of direction i believe that has been put to
11:36rest and you know once we slide in a particular direction i think the last two thousand points
11:41were also very painful uh in terms of the broad based correction and the type of drawdown people
11:46saw in their portfolios and small caps it's very easy to talk about it right now when they've come up
11:52but i think the pain was very relevant in the last two thousand points so i think that is why
11:56there
11:56was a bit of skepticism and the international scenario as such was very problematic i think
12:01the silver lining was that you know in spite of so many problems whether it was tariffs more oil
12:06prices particularly rising rates india was still still sitting in a very sweet spot q1 has been good
12:12q2 numbers that have still now come out seem to be surprising positively uh we have very high hopes
12:18from the next two quarters also i think the numbers will surprise us on the positive side because
12:23last three four years the second half has been the time when your earnings projections have come down
12:27substantially uh this time around i think that is not going to play out and that will probably put
12:32to rest some of the valuation concerns or the earnings growth concerns that have been around it in
12:37markets uh urban consumption is finally picking up i think uh there are parts of the country which
12:43are starting to contribute so all this should add up very well uh so we are very positive i think
12:48uh omcs look like a no-brainer after the type of crash we have seen in oil prices i think
12:53uh lower
12:54interested regime should also follow so we are also seeing some impact on the g sex so that will
12:58support you know all the tragedy numbers also for most banks so i think banks and omcs should be a
13:05large no-brainer at this point in time okay uh let's also try and understand on the fii's a quick
13:11word there with the four days of massive move coming in on the positive side almost 21 000 crores of
13:16inflow coming in um you know is this going to be sustainable are they back for good i think should
13:22be because you know the currency is showing some strength you are looking at a lower rate trajectory
13:28probably and one of the biggest headaches for us is oil um oil most probably is in control now or
13:33heading much lower so that should be very positive for india uh i think add to that the fact which
13:39i
13:39think is a big sentiment wise you know positive development which we have been speaking about since the
13:45fm you know did some changes with respect to debt taxation for the fii's i think the way they've
13:50come to the table to understand the issue and not really ignore the fact that fii flows are needed
13:55for us as a country i think that's very positive development that they are thinking about it not
14:00being very you know radicalized with the thought kfi kia saru prath hai uh they're talking about it that
14:06you have to bring your investment scheme in at par with what's available globally for fii because for
14:11them you know like we choose five stocks they choose five countries so unless around until your
14:15country is at par in terms of tax regulation with the other countries you become a sole loser and
14:21then what happens once performance kicks in i think the faster money on that fii side will also start
14:26coming in long term trajectory wise we never had a doubt that india is in a sweet spot over the
14:31next
14:31decade or two uh so i think all in all it's a very positive development long term was always favorable
14:36i
14:36think uh these short-term triggers of taxation and performance already last month i think dollar
14:41terms we are outperforming and i think this will continue to happen over the next you know
14:45at least six to nine months even beyond that okay uh we'll also shift focus to the pharma space and
14:52then thereafter take a view from sharaji as well u.s healthcare policy and drug pricing remain in focus
14:58and challenging political dynamics in washington particularly for india on the tariff front in fact
15:03earlier my colleague nitru chandra sharma spoke exclusively to kirin mazundar shaw executive
15:08chairperson of biocon who believes india is unlikely to be impacted given the strong partnership between
15:12the two countries let's listen in to what she had to say all right now let me also ask you
15:19about
15:19something beyond biocons business the latest developments include involving you know dolan trump
15:25and u.s senate have brought healthcare policy drug pricing and funding into focus now could changes in
15:31the u.s healthcare policy have implications for biocon and particularly in technology research
15:36investments and global partnership and also help us understand how is the company preparing for this
15:42evolving environment and also do you think that the development can have any kind of implications on
15:48the indian pharmaceutical industry going forward well you know it's very difficult to make comments on such
15:54a question because you know there's been a very big change in the the outcome of the midterms and i
16:02think
16:02you know it's very difficult to know what the midterms mean for any of these policy changes i think it's
16:09very clear that the tariffs are not going to kick in for pharmaceuticals for at least two years and i
16:16don't
16:16think they will kick in because uh there is a a very synergistic uh you know partnership between india
16:25and the u.s when it comes to generics and biosimilars and i think what the u.s is really
16:31concerned about
16:32is the price of you know proprietary patented uh branded molecules which really they want an mfn kind of a
16:41label or a status with products and and and there i don't think india really gets impacted so i for
16:50one believe that the tariff threat is not going to impact india and i really believe that as a company
16:59we are very well represented both in the u.s and india and in other parts of the world so
17:05i think having
17:05a very distributed network like we have puts us in a very strong position
17:12let me take a word from sharaji on the same um sharaji how would you look at the pharma and
17:17the
17:17healthcare space of course there was a large looming factor on the pricing pressures on the policy
17:23changes on tariffs there uh how are you looking at the pharma story now developing i think that is
17:30something uh which the u.s could continue to play around with considering you know that's a mass
17:35opinion thing and politics always plays around mass opinion and mass sentiment uh but largely i think
17:41for companies like biocon or companies that have not got into profiteering like sipla doctorate these
17:47are companies which are not really profiteering some products might get hit if you're profiteering too
17:51much uh but as uh uh mrs majumdar was also saying i think there is a high probability that the
17:56generic
17:57side of the business will not get impacted uh one segment that i'm a bit skeptical about maybe the
18:02cdmo crm cram segment because the currency is appreciating and there the valuations are a tad on
18:08the higher side across the board not every company but most of them seem to be trading at higher valuations
18:13so maybe there you could uh see a tepid kind of environment over the next one one and a half
18:18year
18:18uh but uh pure pharma players i think who are just not dependent on cdmo and cdmo or cramps i
18:25think
18:25uh they could continue to deliver very good numbers over the next one one and a half year
18:29okay and sharaji we'll start taking some questions from our viewers um the arpit dube has the first
18:35question for you from indore who says is it a good time to invest in auto stocks from a long
18:39-term
18:40perspective what would you advise here yeah certainly i think the numbers have been good till now we do
18:45not see any kind of slowdown now the festive numbers will start showing up and i think as i was
18:51telling earlier urban consumption is also picking up uh the government's impetus is very clear uh
18:58new norms etc they will kick in and that would regard but i think the ev space is doing very
19:02well
19:03so yeah in large i think it's a good space to be in on the two-wheeler side we are
19:07betting big
19:08i think hero motocorp looks like a very good benefit very good beneficiary of the r&d initiatives that
19:13they've taken over the last four five years now that should start yielding results and on the four
19:17wheeler side in spite of that news that you carried on regarding tata motors i think tmp looks like a
19:23very good bet uh based on a jlr turnaround which we are very hopeful so i think that could be
19:27a very
19:27strongly trading candidate that's also good i think at these valuations maruti etc also make very decent
19:33bets so i think all in all the auto space barring probably a tvs or an actor most of them
19:38look like
19:39decently value uh if you want to divert a bit i think even escorts could be a good bet over
19:44the next
19:44six to nine months as the kubota and just start tipping in i think there will be a very strong
19:49rating for him as well okay we have the next question from pavan choudhary he's from agra he
19:54asks you what is your outlook on gold financing stocks for the next three months three months
20:03but i think you know uh the valuation at which uh has come down to i think now there's not
20:10much
20:10froth or rather no froth in the prices uh so i think high probability that it will uh move much
20:16higher so i think manapurum remains a better bet obviously but at these valuations even go through
20:21this good larger company i think uh we're trading at around three and a half four times around six
20:26months nine months ago today we are back to two point five times and i don't see any kind of
20:31big
20:31slowdown there so there's a lot of competition etc but i think there is a lot of space also in
20:35terms
20:36of any financing in india and particularly when you're on the retail side i think uh the pie is
20:41too big for competition to you know affect you uh so i think even that these prices though three
20:47months is a very short time for me to come in but i still believe since we are very bullish
20:50in the
20:51markets i believe these companies should also do very well and i don't see anything very inadvertent
20:55happening to the you know uh model of these gold finance companies so i think yeah you can look at
21:00them for buying for the next uh two three months but when you are looking at it short term i
21:05think
21:05uh put a 10 percent kind of stop loss that's that should make money okay one last query uh from
21:11our
21:11viewers this is ritu varma asking you from delhi are oil marketing companies now well positioned for
21:16investment over the next one year yeah certainly certainly i think uh the numbers have been very
21:22bad over the last you know so this year probably they're not too much uh but i think uh the
21:28way oil
21:28prices have corrected we were expecting this but you know it over extended to 115 20 for god
21:34close me it was very difficult even for me to fathom that they would go up to 115 20 uh
21:39then you
21:40start questioning your theorems you know but i think yeah it was a question of when rather than
21:46whether it would happen or not so that has happened i think oil marketing companies are
21:50trading at very attractive valuations across the board we are expecting minimum 40 to 50 percent
21:54upside over the next one year as prices normalize correct further the earnings would start coming
21:59in you would have five six percent seven percent dividend deals in most of the stocks i think
22:04it's a no-brainer you should go all in for your marketing companies at these prices all right
22:08sharaji thank you so much for being with us then sharing all these wonderful insights with all our
22:12viewers wish you happy sambat 2083 we'll of course be in touch more often with you to understand more
22:18understanding on the markets insights for all our viewers on both in there today and business today thank you so
22:23much
22:25all right viewers we'll quickly look at how the markets are shutting shop today we are at
22:303 30 almost 24 536 almost 576 points of a jump is what we have seen panned out to be
22:37a fantastic day
22:38even despite the fact that it was the sensex expiry session today 2.4 percent higher for the nifty is
22:43what we have seen the nifty bank up by 3.3 percent almost ending at the day's high point with
22:48huge volumes
22:49financial services 4 percent higher led by of course bajaj finance and sriram finance some of the big
22:55heavyweights there uh auto stocks 4 percent higher again uh driving in the fastest lane today over a
23:021000 point rally coming in for the auto stocks real estate three and a half percent higher
23:07so you can clearly see the rate sensitive sectors as well as the traditional sectors they are all moving
23:12in true uh and you're looking at the broader markets mid and small caps also supporting in the
23:16sentiments all those small caps have ended lower at the day's low point just with half odd percent
23:21higher gains but the large caps have really pulled up into the markets today with all the sectors
23:25managing to get you the gains uh as i pointed out the top movers are bajaj finance freedom finance
23:31indigo maruti uh tatam motors passenger vehicles m m so auto and banks financials these have been the
23:38flavor in the session today among the top winners from those gains coming in on the large caps as well
23:44but let's now get you our somewhat special conversation as the data approaches the big
23:50question that all of you might also have is whether gold and silver still have room to shine we have
23:56seen some cool off take place over the last couple of months and thereafter we have seen gold prices see
24:03a cut of 30 percent this year silver prices down by almost 60 percent from its all-time peak and
24:10therefore the big question on dhan terrace is a great time to get uh your gold and silver in check
24:16in
24:16your investments and ajay keria the md and director at keria advisory in fact sees the recent correction
24:22as the big buying opportunity backed by strong central buying and etf demand as well but for the
24:27dhan terrace which metal should you pick let's listen in for all those investors looking to buy on the
24:41dhan terrace day between gold and silver what should they purchase so dhan terrace i think uh gold and silver
24:49both is uh ritually a good but i think silver should be a preferred one with a performance what we
24:55have
24:55seen this year is the best time to buy gold and silver behind us is today or right ahead of
25:02dhan terrace
25:03the best time or is the best time going to be coming so i think this is the very best
25:08time first of all
25:09on the festive view definitely you should buy uh one story uh i was just looking whenever crude prices
25:15goes beyond hundred dollar we see initially gold prices will drop but from there at least gold will
25:23double take an example in last 25 years there are three instance where we have seen crude prices was
