A news bulletin reports that four fishermen from Kasimedu in Tamil Nadu have died and five others remain missing after venturing into rough seas during Cyclone Murasu. Four bodies were recovered along the Nellore coast in Andhra Pradesh, prompting an official inquiry into alleged lapses in safety equipment, licensing, and insurance by the boat owner. In Jammu and Kashmir, the ruling National Conference faces internal dissent following an October 27 cabinet expansion, with rebel legislators seeking a meeting with party patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah to voice grievances over leadership and ministerial representations. Meanwhile, in New Delhi, the Indian Air Force has transferred a 39.5-acre prime land parcel near Lok Kalyan Marg to the union government as part of an ongoing central land reclamation drive, raising questions among veterans regarding defence infrastructure and strategic air defence installations.

00:00This is with regards to the cyclone Murasu and its after effects that it's brought in.
00:06Well, what we are learning about is that four Tamil Nadu fishermen dead, five missing in the Murasu cyclone.
00:14Nine of these fishermen had left from Tamil Nadu and then got caught in the cyclone.
00:19Tamil Nadu minister has said that the four bodies of the fishermen were found from Nellor.
00:24Nine fishermen, in fact, four have died. Four bodies have been found.
00:29Five are still missing. But yes, it's being said that there is a high probability that all nine have, in
00:36fact, died in the very cyclone because it was a severe cyclonic storm.
00:41We've seen the effect that it's left behind in Tamil Nadu and they were out in the sea amid that
00:48very storm.
00:50Rough seas, high tide and this is what we are given to understand.
00:54Salman Nadu minister, Mary Wilson, who has come out to say that they are taking this into cognizance and such
01:02efforts are still underway for the five who are missing.
01:05Listen in to what the minister has said.
01:10fight wall.
01:13Mine town, mine town.
01:18Connections, no.
01:20We all reported that.
01:22The boat owner has a proper gear, safety, license, insurance, etc.
01:38There is a procedure lab.
01:44There is a procedure lab.
01:45The procedure lab has been taken in detail.
01:50I will tell you what I am saying.
01:55I have been able to identify the four-year-old.
01:59I will be able to identify the four-year-old.
02:01I will be able to identify the five-year-old.
02:09Anaga Keshef joining me on the broadcast with more details.
02:12Anaga, it's a very good morning to you.
02:15But it's really unfortunate what we are in fact bringing to our viewers here.
02:19Four of those fishermen reportedly their bodies have washed up in Nenlor.
02:25But five others still missing.
02:27But it's being said that it's highly possible that they have also lost their lives
02:32as they got stuck in that very cyclone while they were out in the seas.
02:38Good morning to you as well.
02:40In fact, it's a rather tragic news that we are hearing this morning about nine fishermen
02:44who had left from their houses in Kasimedo, which is the north of Chennai.
02:50But what we are hearing from the government is that they left from their houses.
02:55They got on to the voyage after knowing that Cyclone Murasu was going to happen is what we are hearing
03:01from the government.
03:02In fact, the government has pointed fingers at the boat owner saying that there was lack of safety protocols.
03:08There was no boat insurance, no safety gear used.
03:10And most importantly, the fishermen have left their boats after knowing that Cyclone Murasu was going to happen.
03:18So a lot of standard safety protocol lapse is being pointed out by the Tamil Nadu government.
03:23And therefore, they have ordered a detailed investigation into this matter to really probe the boat owner further.
03:30Because I am also learning that one of that boat that was used was more than 10 years old.
03:36So well beyond its functional date is how the boat has still been put to use.
03:41And therefore, the government has raised a lot of questions.
03:43And that's why they have put on to a detailed enquiry about this matter.
03:47In fact, out of the nine fishermen who have gone missing, four bodies have been found in Nalur, which is
03:53in Nandapadesh.
03:54The remaining five bodies are still missing.
03:57And Maria Wilson, who is the finance minister, says that he will be taking part in that search operation
04:02to sort of expedite the process of recovering the other five bodies.
04:06So it's very tragic news that's coming in from Tamil Nadu that nine fishermen from Chennai have lost their lives.
04:11Very true, Anagar. It's indeed extremely, extremely unfortunate what we are learning.
04:16And viewers, we'll keep a track of this story.
04:20And as is such, operations still continue for the five missing fishermen.
04:25Four have reportedly been killed in that cyclone Murasso as they were out in the high seas during the cyclone
04:33setting in.
04:34On that note, we are shifting focus to a different story. Up north, this is.
04:38The national conference, that is a political arena of Jammu and Kashmir, is looking at a rocky patch.
04:46Why? And especially Omar's cabinet. Why? Because the national conference is staring at an internal rebellion,
04:51putting Omar Abdullah's leadership under pressure.
04:54It's a brewing revolt that could now snowball into a major political crisis in Jammu and Kashmir.
04:59India today's exclusive scoops reveal 15 dissident MLAs held a secret huddle with four meetings since the October 27 cabinet
05:08reshuffle.
05:09Rebels are set to meet Faruk Abdullah today demanding the removal of ministers who have completed two years.
05:15Omar Abdullah too could meet the dissidents.
05:17But then the question that remains is, what was the trigger point for this revolt?
05:22Well, we have, in fact, traced it back to October 27th's cabinet expansion.
05:28Four new ministers were inducted, taking the council's strength to nine.
05:32With the exclusion of the senior leaders, particularly six-time MLA Mubarak Gul, triggered resentment.
05:39Allegations of repeated humiliation soon turned into an open dissent against the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself.
05:44The BJP, however, has rejected the Operation Lotus charge, insisting that it has nothing to do with the NC's internal
05:51crisis.
05:52Because remember, time and again, the rebels have also come out to level allegations at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah
05:58that he has been acting on the behest of the BJP.
06:03As the rebels close ranks, the big question is whether Omar can contain the revolt and keep his government intact.
06:09Because that is now what it's come down to.
06:12Take a look at some of the reactions that have come in so far.
06:16I expected more than a lot of the car.
06:20I didn't come to get any car, no one had to get a car.
06:25I didn't have to buy any money.
06:27I didn't have to sell any car, I didn't have to.
06:31I didn't have to.
06:32I didn't see everything.
06:34I didn't see everything.
06:56The initial confidence
06:58370
06:59I am not going to be able to get rid of it, but I am not going to be able
07:05to get rid of it.
07:05Assemblée in resolution is a big thing.
07:11Now, if you have asked, if you have asked, if you have a national conference,
07:16you have to get rid of it, you have to get rid of it, you have to get rid of
07:20it.
07:21So that's why these people who are here, we are going to get rid of it,
07:27they are going to get rid of it, they are going to get rid of it,
07:31if you have talked about it, we are not going to say it,
07:36but it doesn't need to be able to get rid of it.
07:39If you have related to it, I have to say that this is BJP,
07:46which is a national conference, which is a national conference,
07:48and just as I am going to resign, I am going to do it with it,
07:53I am going to say that I am going to say that,
08:00if you have a national conference,
08:04they are the ladies and gentlemen,
08:04they are part of the government and they are going to go to the government,
08:05and they are going to go to the government and that is not exactly what the parties do.
08:09So that is that national conference is part of the government.
08:17or their members of parliament.
08:20They have revealed their sins.
08:23The members of parliament,
08:26if they have put their hands down,
08:29they have called their members.
08:34And the MLS,
08:38the members of their members,
08:41in Kashmir,
08:43they are looking for their members.
08:54You are joining us on the broadcast with more details on the story now.
08:58Sunil ji a very good morning to you.
09:01You know while there is a crucial meeting that's coming up between the rebel MLAs and Faruk Abdullah
09:07but I just want to understand the scenario here if say the meeting doesn't go as per the
09:13expectations. There is no solution to the deadlock that currently exists. Is there a chance that the
09:21rebel MLAs come in to form a group and perhaps launch a new front, a new party and challenge
09:28Omar Abdullah and more such MLAs also resign from his cabinet, thus leaving him below the
09:38majority mark that's needed to form the government there and maintain the government there?
09:46Well, Shriya, all eyes are on today's important meeting between N.C. Patriarch Dr. Faruk Abdullah
09:53and the dissident MLAs of the National Conference. Ahead of this crucial meeting today, the dissident
10:00MLAs met last evening at the residence of Pampur, MLA, Justice Retired Hussain Mastoudi and they
10:11chalked out the future course of action. They discussed the strategy for this meeting. But as
10:16far as your question is concerned, yesterday at that meeting that took place at Justice Hussain
10:22and Mossoudi's residence in Srinagar, about 15 national conference MLAs were present. There one
10:29independent MLA was also in attendance. So in total, 16 MLAs were present. But the rebel group claims that
10:36there are a few more MLAs who are, you know, supporting them. They are going to discuss the
10:42issues with Dr. Faruk Abdullah. They are going to put forth their demands before Dr. Faruk Abdullah.
10:48But in case, as you said, that the deadlock remains, then the MLAs are going to meet again.
10:53They are going to discuss their future course of action. Shriya, one has to understand that there
10:59is anti-defection law in place. And as per that law, more than two-thirds MLAs should be there. And
11:07only then they can, you know, have a separate grouping and they can avoid disqualification.
11:12But if the number of the MLAs are below two-thirds, then the options before them is that they have
11:20to
11:20resign en masse. And then the strength of the assembly will come down. And there is a possibility that
11:26Umar Abdullah will fall short of numbers. And then these dissident MLAs will have to fight the elections
11:32again. But that's a hypothetical scenario. As of now, the national conference claims that all is well and this
11:38rebellion will be quelled and the daos, this rebellion fire will be daos. And there is a possibility that
11:45Faruk Abdullah will reach out and a middle ground can be found.
11:48Right. So right now, that is a far-fetched possibility, Sunilji, as you are mentioning.
11:54And thank you for putting that into context for our viewers. We're going to keep a close track of how
11:58things indeed pan out for Umar Abdullah and the NC as the meeting will take place later in the day.
12:05But right now, viewers, let's shift focus to different stories. The IAAF, that's handed over
12:1039.5 acres of prime land near Prime Minister's residence at local Myanmar to the centre.
12:16Part of a larger land reclamation drive, the move has also raised questions
12:20over the future of the decades-old defence establishment.
12:24Shivani Sharma with this report. Take a look.
12:3739.5-acre prime land parcel in the heart of Delhi is backed with the Union Government.
12:44The Indian Air Force officially handed over its sports complex near the Prime Minister's
12:48official residence to the Land and Development Office.
12:54The move is part of centre's larger exercise to reclaim prime government land around Lok Kalyanmark.
13:01The handover has been completed on an as-is, where-is basis.
13:07A joint survey by Indian Air Force, Defence Estate Office and LNDO will now verify the exact
13:14area of the land.
13:16Earlier, the government had taken back the 53-acre Delhi Race Club premises and reclaimed
13:22the Jaipur Polo Ground from the India Polo Association.
13:27The closure of the Air Force Sports Complex also meant former IAF Chief A.P. Singh could not hold
13:34his traditional golfing-out ceremony before retiring on October 31st.
13:39The Air Force Sports Complex was part of the Air Force Station on Lok Kalyanmark.
13:46Established in the 1940s, the Air Force Station has remained under IAF control for decades.
13:52The station supports air headquarters and more than 5,000 personnel.
13:58It has accommodation for married and unmarried personnel, training facilities for airmen and
14:03agnivis, medical facilities and other administrative infrastructure.
14:08It also has important air defence assets, including equipment for countering drone threats
14:13under the Delhi Integrated Air Defence Centre.
14:17The Air Force Sports Complex is also in the close vicinity.
14:21The 40-acre land parcel that has now been sealed, the sports complex of the Indian Air Force
14:26has been sealed.
14:27The VIP-89 shield that happens to be the air defence systems, the integrated air defence systems
14:35for the Delhi security, the VIP security, that also is in that vicinity of the 40-acre land
14:43that has now been sealed and will be taken by the government.
14:47Air Force veterans claim the property is a vital defence establishment.
14:52They ask if land reclamation can come at the cost of strategic priorities.
14:59Vishwani Sharma, Bureau Report, India Today.
15:05On that note, viewers, we are wrapping up the bulletin right here this hour, but before
15:09we leave, we will leave you with these visuals of a certain wedding celebration that took
15:15place last night as we speak.
15:18Well, it's Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and his Leo co-star, Trisha Krishnan, who attended
15:24the wedding reception of YS Anil Reddy's daughter in Chennai on Thursday.
15:30YS Anil is the cousin of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS RCP Supremo, YS Jagan Mohan
15:36Reddy.

15:43were also present at the reception.
15:45These are some of the visuals that have come in of the celebrations.

15:56of this break.
