00:00Big news and listen carefully. If you're a voter whose name has been left out of the electoral rolls, the
00:05draft electoral rolls, you have an opportunity to reach out to the election commission and get your names added.
00:11This is a big news that has come in, ladies and gentlemen. The election commission has given a fresh opportunity
00:16to electors who've been left out of the draft electoral rolls in seven states.
00:21So what states are these? Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand and Nagaland.
00:27The election commission very categorically has said, electors who were issued enumeration forms but whose names could not be included
00:34in the draft electoral roll on different accounts.
00:37It could be because you were absent or you were shifted or if a family member has died or duplicate,
00:43there will be an opportunity to ensure that that is clear.
00:47If someone has been marked dead, for example, or absent or away, but of course are still living and are
00:53still living at that address, you will be provided one more opportunity.
00:57To get their names included in the final electoral roll.
01:01I want to immediately bring in Aishwarya Paliwal for the latest on that.
01:04Aishwarya, this was the precise problem or concern that was raised by several voters in different parts of the state.
01:12Do you think if this opportunity comes in, and should have come in already as well, that is going to
01:17resolve this whole controversy about SIR?
01:20And also voter watching you right now, Aishwarya, whose name has been deleted, how does one get their name added
01:26back?
01:28Well, you know, one of the things that those people have been given an opportunity is that they can fill
01:32form 6 and they can make sure that, you know, they get in touch with the respective BLOs.
01:37The Booth-level officers, in fact, have now been instructed and the instruction is very, very clear.
01:42All those people who were marked as ASDD, which means that they were marked as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate,
01:48they should, in fact, be given one more opportunity to get their names included in the final electoral roll.
01:53This is something which is very, very crucial because we did see, you know, Pooja and the state of Delhi,
01:58Maharashtra, Haryana, Andhra Sadej, Jharkhand, Telangana and Nagaland,
02:02we did see how there were close of people who found themselves not being named in the final electoral roll.
02:08The opposition Pooja, especially the Hongwish party, pointing fingers at the election commission and saying that this is something which
02:13is being done at the behest of the BJP.
02:15The BJP time and again was giving clarifications and saying that this is something which is a clean-up exercise,
02:21making sure that the electoral roll becomes pure.
02:24I do believe, Aishwarya, you know, if this had come earlier as well, there wouldn't have been all the political
02:29showdown that we witnessed, but nevertheless, it has come now.
02:32So, ladies and gentlemen, the BLOs, as Aishwarya is telling us, will make every possible effort in coordination with concerned
02:38BLAs of various political parties.
02:40So, they are going to get in touch with different political parties and their agents, booth-level agents and so
02:45on, and that carder will help establish contact with voters through house-to-house visits.
02:52So, if there are names that have been deleted, there will be an opportunity to add that name back into
02:57the final electoral roll, and all of that will now be clear.
03:01If that happens, who will that end the whole SIR controversy?
