00:17We're going live to Uruguay as Pope Leo XIV continues his apostolic journey in his first
00:22stop on his journey in Latin America in Uruguay. We're seeing the Pope being greeted by the people
00:29that are gathered here in a very vulnerable community that he's visiting today, the community
00:37of Casa Valle, one of the vulnerable communities of the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, where he's
00:44going to meet with the heads of the parish of this social community. We are seeing people have
00:52gathered to welcome him, and the Pope has been greeting as many people as he could, as he can,
00:58as he continues to walk alongside church authorities, the person that we're seeing to his left is the
01:06priest of the parish of this social community Casa Valle in Montevideo, one of the areas that houses
01:16vulnerable population, one of the impoverished regions in the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo. These are all
01:25activities scheduled, as far as we were saying, of his apostolic journey to Latin America, which will see him
01:35travel to Uruguay, where he is today, and then to Argentina and Peru. He's undertaking this journey across
01:44South America, as we were saying, visiting these Latin American countries for the next 12 days, and it represents an
01:51important moment for the Catholic Church in Latin America, a region with deep Catholic traditions, and a history
01:58closely connected to the Church's religious, cultural, and social influence. We are seeing the Pope now greeting the
02:07children, the young, of this social community Casa Valle in Montevideo, as he's walking, and as you may notice, the
02:14housing that is around where the Pope has been walking, they're all pretty much the same. They all look the
02:20same
02:20because it's part of projects to provide housing to this vulnerable community. We continue to see the Pope
02:28greeting the people that live in this neighborhood. There from this overview, you can notice what I was referring to
02:37to the housing as construction continues to spread to be able to provide housing to the people that are vulnerable.
02:50And when we say this is a vulnerable community, it's because it's on the outskirts of the capital, and public
02:57services, for example, are difficult to come by in this outskirts, in this town that is in the outskirts, this
03:06community that is on the outskirts of the capital on the video. We continue to see the Pope greeting, speaking
03:15with the people, and see if we can listen to what he's saying.
03:29A big blessing from the Pope for all the people who have gathered here.
03:38Life is important, he says. And that we, he also asks for the blessing that we can remain faithful in
03:47our faith.
04:02And to the Pope, speaking with the people of the Casa Valle community, and giving them his blessing as well.
04:11We're seeing this old lady that was very shyly saying if he could greet her, and the Pope said yes,
04:18and he greeted her, shook her hand.
04:21Now the Pope will continue as part of this, we're saying, his apostolic journey through Uruguay.
04:26That will also continue this area earlier on Saturday. He traveled outside the capital to Paisandu, a city in western
04:35Uruguay near the border with Argentina.
04:37And that visit was one of the major activities of Uruguay, bringing together thousands of faithful from different parts of
04:44the country and other regions.
04:46And now he's continuing his schedule planned here in Uruguay after visiting Paisandu.
04:58He's currently visiting the visit to Casa Valle neighborhood. And now he will go on to have a meeting with
05:05members of the community at the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
05:10And that's where the Pope is going to be heading now. After greeting the people here in this area of
05:17the vulnerable community of Casa Valle, he will now move on, as we were saying, to have this meeting in
05:25the parish of Lady of Guadalupe.
05:26And this is a particularly significant because Casa Valle faces social, as we were saying, socioeconomic challenges, including poverty, marginalization,
05:35insecurity, and the impact of organized drug traffic in the visit.
05:41This visit to this area highlights the social dimension of the Catholic Church's mission and its work with communities facing
05:50difficult living conditions.
05:52It also provides an opportunity to discuss the importance of community organizations, social support, and public policies capable of addressing
06:05structural causes of exclusion and violence.
06:08Let's listen to the ambience of the people gathered here where the Pope is going to have a meeting with
06:15the community.
