00:00 Hello there, welcome to a weather update from the Met Office. Now, through the next few
00:04 days it's rain or showers and the weather turns lively yet again on Saturday. For the
00:10 time being, that's Wednesday evening. Weather warnings remain in force for thunderstorms
00:14 across England and Wales and some heavy rain across eastern counties. Notice the winds
00:19 as well, touching Galefort along this east coast here. This whole system is clearing
00:23 towards the low countries but it will be a slow process. We've inherited a cool north
00:27 and northwesterly breeze delivering clouds and showery bursts of rain and that northwest
00:31 wind will also bring showers towards the south of Wales as well as the west country. In between,
00:36 some drier weather, some clearer skies but temperatures holding up 12, 13, 14 degrees
00:42 Celsius and a cool start to the day come Thursday morning, particularly with this wind. Now,
00:46 the winds won't be as strong as they were on Wednesday across the south coast but still
00:50 a keen breeze and that breeze bringing clouds and showers streaming in as well. We'll lose
00:56 the showers across east Anglia through the afternoon but exposed to this breeze it's
01:00 going to feel rather cool. Some breaks in the cloud, the Midlands perhaps, northern
01:04 England but we'll see some showers developing, particularly across the west initially and
01:09 then eastern parts of Scotland, northeast England through the afternoon. The risk of
01:13 thunder is out there as well. We continue to see showers across the far north and a
01:17 few showers for northern Ireland but in Shelter you'll see some brighter weather. So here
01:22 are your temperatures, 17 to 22, 23 degrees Celsius. Now through Thursday evening and
01:28 overnight these showers continue for a time and they will be heavy in places and again
01:32 it's going to be wet across central and northern areas of Scotland with that brisk wind here.
01:37 A few showers continue to run down the North Channel, clipping northern Ireland, Irish
01:42 Sea coast as well but inland again we'll see some clearer skies as showers continue across
01:48 eastern counties into the early hours of Friday morning. So come Friday this is where we'll
01:54 see most of the showers, central and eastern areas. Notice some brighter skies for northern
01:59 Ireland, a few showers clipping the far north there. Some brighter weather also for Scotland,
02:03 western Scotland seeing some sunshine and some sunshine coming through further west
02:08 across Wales as well as the west country. These showers though could be heavy, again
02:12 with the risk of thunder through the afternoon. But this ridge moves in, dampening shower
02:16 activity for a time before through the early hours of Saturday morning this area of low
02:21 pressure deepens and tracks across the country. You can see a squeeze on the ice bars, outbreaks
02:26 of rain, some thunderstorms will be associated with it as well as it clears again towards
02:31 the east into the early hours of Sunday. And then things look a little bit better through
02:35 Sunday afternoon. A ridge extends across the country, still some showers in the north but
02:40 some drier skies coming through towards the south west. So here's your cities list on
02:45 Saturday. Yes, it's rain or showers and temperatures will be suppressed 16 or 17 degrees Celsius.
02:52 For England and Wales not a lot of difference. Most of the heaviest rain will be in the north
02:57 as well as the west but even south we'll see some showers again with the risk of thunder.
03:02 Highest temperatures possibly 20 degrees Celsius. Bye bye.
