00:00Ashton Jalant once again on the tackle for Kansas City.
00:05Get after him, Jamie Sherr. Get after him, my friends.
00:09Seahawks football when we come back.
00:19Seahawks defense stood up the Chiefs offense,
00:22and now Jalen Milrow and the Seahawks offense taking over once again.
00:27Let's hear more about that defense.
00:28So let's head down to the sideline.
00:30Cliff Averill with Demarcus Lawrence.
00:32D-Long, my man.
00:33So obviously you played for another team for the bulk of your career.
00:38Moving to Seattle, talk a little bit about the transition,
00:40not just being here from a football perspective, but even outside of that.
00:44Yeah, man. I'm definitely loving it.
00:47You know, it's a different transition for me.
00:49Different atmosphere, but, you know, it feels like football, you know, here.
00:52So I'm excited to be here, excited to play for the Hawks, man,
00:55and get this thing rolling.
00:56Yes, sir.
00:57So D-Long is the most seasoned group on the defense.
01:02Tell me why you're excited about the D-Long
01:04and what they can bring to this team.
01:07Yeah, man.
01:07Like you said, we got some seasoned vets that knows how to rush the passer,
01:12you know, get after the run game, stop the run.
01:14We got some young guys, you know,
01:15ready to get out there and make their name in the league.
01:18So, you know, man, just excited about the whole defense,
01:21the whole bunch of, you know, as a Seahawks culture, man,
01:24that we're building here.
01:24Yeah, for sure.
01:25Now, you play with AD.
01:27Obviously, you had DQ, you had AD.
01:29Tell us a little bit about why we should be excited about AD being the D coordinator
01:32and obviously bringing you here.
01:33Yeah, man.
01:34My guy, man, you know, he just knows what to do.
01:38He knows how to get his D-line rushing, getting us attacking the ball,
01:41and, you know, have our backhand attacking the ball also.
01:44So, you know, man, you're going to see us with a lot of turnovers this year,
01:48you know, getting after the ball a lot.
01:50Oh, man, just excited, bro.
01:52No doubt.
01:52Now, last one for you, Bidal.
01:53So, this defense, again, D-line season, got some great guys on the back end collectively.
02:00What kind of identity are y'all trying to have?
02:03Say it again?
02:03What kind of identity are y'all trying to create for y'all selves?
02:06Man, being that dark side, you know, that dark side that nobody don't want to come to,
02:11that nobody don't want to play against, and, you know, when you see us,
02:14we're going to definitely shut the lights off.
02:16Appreciate you, bro.
02:17All good.
02:17Yes, sir.
02:18Appreciate you.
02:18All right.
02:19That's DeMarcus Lawrence.
02:20Looking forward to seeing him on defense for the Seahawks during the regular season.
02:24And how about the play that happened at the end of that interview?
02:26Jalen Milrow finding Ricky White III for a 20-yard connection and Seahawks first down.
02:32Here's Milrow now.
02:33Again, Kate, invaluable reps for Jalen Milrow right now.
02:39He needs to see as many defenses as possible.
02:41This is Anthony Tyus, fifth running back in tonight for the Seahawks.
02:47Josiah Izzard, the rookie out of Penn State, on the tackle for Kansas City.
02:51Good night for Drew Locke, 10 for 12 for Drew, 129 yards, two touchdowns,
02:57including that dime he threw to Jake Bobo on the right side of the end zone.
03:00So love seeing that after Sam Darnold made his Seahawks debut and went a perfect 4-for-4 for 34 yards
03:07before handing off to Zach Charbonneau for the first Seahawks touchdown tonight.
03:11So what you're saying is, Kate, the quarterbacks have been efficient tonight.
03:15Only two passes missed.
03:16I was telling that through the statistical story, my friends.
03:19Here's Tyus, almost lost his footy, but stays upright.
03:23It's close to at the 41-yard line.
03:26That was a pretty cool play right there.
03:27I think that was a called pitch play, but Jalen forgot.
03:31And then he was going to hand it, and then he said, you know what, let me toss it to you.
03:34It's actually pretty cool to see.
03:36Kid just figuring it out, but again, this is what preseason is for.
03:42And like Coach Paterno used to tell me, in my quarterback days,
03:46when all else fails, you know you got legs to run.
03:51Most likely last play of the quarter on this rainy night in Seattle.
03:586 of 7 on third down so far.
04:00Milrow trying to spin his way to the first down, but not going to be able to do it.
04:04Mike B., thanks for joining us again tonight.
04:07No, it's easy.
04:08I love coming up here with you guys and love football.
04:12Don't say it's easy, though.
04:14Because Zion is on the tackle for Kansas City.
04:16Don't say it's easy, though.
04:17Yeah, it's not easy at all, actually.
04:18Why would you say that?
04:19It felt like the right thing to say is it's like text LOL.
04:24Love you, Michael Bennett.
04:26Mike B. is headed down towards the fields.
04:28Mike, Rob, and I will have the fourth quarter for you.
04:3030-10 Seahawks as we head to quarter for four.
04:34Seahawks are going to be the first to know about exclusive Seahawks ticket offers and more.
04:47Sign up today for Seahawks text notifications.
04:50Just text SEAHOWKS to 7-12-11 to register now.
04:55See, he knows what's up.
04:57Seahawks are going to go for it on fourth down here.
04:58Michael Robinson, Kate Scout with you on a rainy night up here in Lumen Field in Seattle.
05:03But Seahawks fans don't care.
05:05Fourth and three.
05:06Anthony Tyus, the running back.
05:09Milrow under center.
05:10Maroyal comes in motion.
05:16That just had been a hard count here for Milrow.
05:19That's what it looks like so far.
05:20Trying to get somebody to jump off.
05:25The flag way back towards the 15-yard line behind the Chiefs.
05:29But good effort by Milrow.
05:33These are all, again, reps and experiences.
05:35I know we did this in college, but this is the NFL.
05:38The land game.
05:39Offense.
05:41Five-yard penalty.
05:42Fourth down.
05:45Yeah, it's crazy.
05:46You see this situational football in practice periods at practice.
05:50Coach McDonald does a great job getting guys ready for these moments.
05:57But it's nothing like having the live rep that Jalen Milrow just got
06:01at trying to get somebody to jump off sides.
06:04Right near midfield.
06:06This is Michael Dixon's first punt tonight.
06:10Wow.
06:11It's the fourth quarter.
06:13For what it's worth, Chiefs just punted at the end of the third quarter.
06:18And we've got a couple of flags, one at the 50,
06:20one down near about the six-yard line where the ball went out.
06:24Let's see what Sean Smith, a beg your pardon, has to say.
06:29Yeah, a little laundry on the field.
06:31Yeah, it's been a cleaner night, though.
06:32Yeah.
06:33Way too many penalties for both teams, the Chiefs and Arizona last week
06:36and the Seahawks.
06:37Understandably, preseason opener.
06:38Absolutely.
06:41All right.
06:44Should offset.
06:45Let's see.
06:46Smith.
06:48In his 10th season in the NFL, came in in 2015 as an umpire
06:53and has been a ref since the 2018 season.
06:57Usually don't like re-runs.
06:59There's fouls by each team on the field.
07:02In legal formation, offense number 46 was not lined up on the line of scrimmage.
07:07During the kick holding, number two, those fouls offset will replay fourth down.
07:13As I was getting ready to say it, on the punt team, I used to hate having to re-punt.
07:19But, you know, you run down, you got to come back, you run down again.
07:25Something that you just don't like.
07:27Derek Jackson, rookie out of Kentucky.
07:33Frustrating night so far for Andy Green.
07:35But, again, I'd say those 301 wins and three Super Bowl titles, I think Andy's doing okay.
07:41Yeah, Andy's worried about the regular season.
07:44Yeah, what a career.
07:45That is it.
07:46You know, that Kingdom documentary debuted last night.
07:53Watched the first couple episodes.
07:55It was pretty darn interesting.
07:56Looked like Rashard Smith might have stepped out on the six-yard line.
08:00There was no whistle.
08:01So, a long field ahead for Bailey Zappi and the Chiefs offense.
08:07Good work by Tai Okada for Mike McDonald and the Seahawks.
08:19When you play Washington's Lottery, you're helping fund the pursuit of dreams
08:23through college and career training.
08:27And I wouldn't go so far as to say tonight has been a dream for the Seahawks,
08:30Michael Robinson, but it sure has been a good week, too.
08:3330-10.
08:3520-point lead right now.
08:36A couple of rushing touchdowns, a couple of receiving touchdowns.
08:40And the defense has looked darn good, too.
08:43Absolutely.
08:43They're controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the football.
08:48And you've got to like that not just the starters are playing hard and well,
08:52but everybody up the depth targets.
08:53Yep.
08:54Bailey Zappi and out quarterback swinging it out to former Fresno State Bulldog,
08:59Niko Ramehio.
09:03Barely Zappi right there.
09:06Fourth year.
09:09Spent some time in New England.
09:11Really is a good quarterback, as far as from a backup standpoint.
09:15Yeah.
09:15And obviously, you've got Patty Mahomes over there.
09:18He won't be starting over Patrick.
09:19There's Bailey.
09:2226-year-old in Western Kentucky.
09:26A good chunk of playing time last week in Arizona at 20-17 loss to the Cardinals.
09:31Here's Ramehio on the other side.
09:34So back-to-back plays to Niko Ramehio.
09:37Another one of the guys trying to make 53 for the Kansas City Chiefs.
09:42Oh, he's a great kick return.
09:44Yes.
09:4448-yard kick return last week.
09:46And a couple of great returns in the postseason last year.
09:51Now trying to show he can.
09:54Played great for this Chiefs offense as well.
09:57Third down and three.
09:59Like the hustle on that play by Anthony Campbell.
10:02Rushed the quarterback.
10:04And he came back.
10:05Make the time.
10:06More of the motion man.
10:08Rashawn Smith in it running back for Kansas City.
10:12Zappy from the gun.
10:15Quick pass out to the right side.
10:17And that is caught.
10:18Can't believe this guy's still in the game.
10:20And it's Robert Tonian, seventh-year tight end,
10:24who has the one touchdown for Kansas City tonight.
10:27And that's good for KC first down.
10:28Tyno Kata on the coverage.
10:31Yeah.
10:32Robert Tonian is getting some work tonight.
10:34Beg your pardon, not a first down.
10:37Same.
10:37He came up short.
10:41So good work by Tyno Kata.
10:43And the Seahawks defense once again.
10:45Yeah, Tyno Kata's been having a really good camp as well.
10:49Always in the right place.
10:51And the guy's energy is contagious.
10:52He jumps off the table.
10:56Ryza.
10:57Lefty punter.
10:59On to send this one away.
11:00Ryan Williams.
11:09He gets tripped up from behind.
11:11At about the 40-yard line.
11:14Nice tackle there by Kevin Knowles of the Chiefs.
11:18Seahawks with a chance to add to their lead.
11:21They come back.
11:21Welcome back to Seattle.
11:30Rain continuing to fall on Lumen Field.
11:34Jalen Milrow now in at quarterback for the Seahawks,
11:37who have a comfortable 30-10 lead.
11:40Sam Darnold making his Seahawks debut tonight.
11:43Mike Robb.
11:44And he was perfect on that first drive.
11:47Four for four.
11:48The Seahawks all the way down the field.
11:50And Zach Charbonnet finished it off.
11:52So he couldn't have written a better script for a start for a new quarterback.
11:56No, it was perfect.
11:57I mean, not just because he was four for four,
11:59but he also finished his drive with a score.
12:02And a row handing on to Anthony Tyus III.
12:05We got to talk to Sam.
12:09Understand we're so excited to be reunited with Clint Kubiak.
12:12And when we talked with Clint yesterday,
12:14I loved what he said about Sam because they worked together for the first time
12:17a couple years ago in San Francisco, right,
12:19when Sam was kind of resetting the career, backing up Brock Purdy.
12:22And he said, Clint said, I was so impressed by Sam's humility.
12:26Yes.
12:27To have a guy who's dealt with so much adversity, obviously,
12:29coming in as a top pick, wasn't sure what to expect.
12:33As Milrow booths to his left here,
12:36hooks up with Cody White for a Seahawks first down.
12:40And he said, Sam was just there to learn
12:43and to get back to where he knew that he could be
12:47as we take another look at this first down.
12:49Yeah, first of all, a great catch right here by Cody White
12:53because, you know, Jalen put a little mustard on that pass right there.
12:59He's a rookie. He's excited.
13:00Yeah, made it a little harder than it's supposed to be.
13:03But just going back to your point, I had Sam Donald,
13:06me and Beast Mode had Sam Donald on the Get Got podcast.
13:09And Sam, like, loves Seattle.
13:12Like, he loved the fact that he's able.
13:15This is Tyus.
13:16Working his way forward for another Seahawks first down.
13:20A great run by the rookie out of Ohio.
13:23Thanks to another good block from a tight end, Marshall Lang there out ahead of Tyus.
13:28That was a really good run, man.
13:31Yeah, I was listening to the podcast.
13:32Tell me more about the Get Got Pot.
13:34No more Sean this week. Apologies.
13:36Sorry, the 12 is out there.
13:36Yeah, no more Beast Mode this week.
13:38But Sam was on with you.
13:39But Sam was on with us, and he just showed how appreciative, I mean, he was not just for, you know,
13:45John Snyder and the Seahawks coming to get him, but he loves these fans, man.
13:49Like, he kept talking about the love he gets from the fans, not just on social media,
13:53but when he's walking the streets of Seattle.
13:56The fans, the 12, definitely have a big effect on the players.
14:00Yeah, I think Sammy D is going to have a good season here in the Emerald City.
14:07Seahawks calling a timeout here.
14:12Jalen Milrow again in at quarterback.
14:14And it wasn't just Sam.
14:14I mean, Drew Locke looked great tonight as well.
14:17Very efficient.
14:19In his time, taking over for Sam.
14:22Absolutely.
14:23Again, I can't overstate it.
14:25When you have an offensive system that a defense has to actually worry about, right?
14:31Like, it gives an offense something to hang their hat on, right?
14:36And it's the run game system with this Kubiak system.
14:42First and ten, Milrow pitching to Tyus, and lost his footing there on the slick turn.
14:47And he's going to have a pairing on the tackle for Kansas City.
14:50I think it's easy to forget that Sam Darnold, he's been in the league this is his eighth year now.
14:56But he's only 28 years old.
14:57When he was drafted, he was the youngest opening weekend starter since the AFL-NFL merger.
15:05And you think about that, and you think about, again, this is spinning as positive as we can.
15:09So, Jackson Smith and Jigna is 23 years old.
15:12Tori Horton is 22.
15:14Zach Charbonnet is 24.
15:15Kenneth Walker is 24.
15:18A.J. Barner is 23.
15:19Elijah Royo is 22.
15:20Jalen Milrow finding Brady Russell over the middle.
15:25And Brady loses his footing, but takes it down towards about the 15.
15:29Brady!
15:30Did he just dive?
15:32Did he just run it and say, you know what, I just want to dive?
15:36Think the grass monster got him.
15:37Yeah, the grass monster did.
15:39Grady Russell right here.
15:41But good job by Jalen Milrow just standing in the pocket, being firm and decisive with his throw.
15:45But it looked like Brady was trying to give a little deadlift move and just tripped and just fell.
15:53You know, not everybody can be Jackson Smith and Jigba or Cooper Pupp.
15:58Yeah, good job by Brady Russell right there.
16:00Brady Russell is only 26 years old.
16:02Robbie Outz, the starting fullback, is 22.
16:05Here's Milrow on the boots.
16:07Jalen following Brady Russell and reaches towards that 10-yard line.
16:12And this is better for Milrow.
16:14But what I was trying to say is just, if things work out in this offense, so much of the talent is so young
16:20that this could be a great-looking offense.
16:23Matching up with a great defense we saw in the final eight weeks of the season last year,
16:27this could be a great football team for years.
16:29Absolutely.
16:29And that's why it's so important that Sam Donald came here this offseason, right?
16:35Yeah.
16:35He's still a young guy, but he's old enough to be a veteran
16:40and know exactly what to do with the football team.
16:42All right, we've got an injured chief on the football field, so we'll be back after this.
16:47That's Felix Anudike Uzama, defensive end who was down injured for Kansas City,
17:01walked off under his own power.
17:02But it's been another tough night as far as injuries for Kansas City.
17:06He lost a couple of guys for the season last week in the opener at Arizona.
17:12So hopefully no more injuries here on out.
17:15John Milrow, Brady Russell, Anthony Tice.
17:20Play action for Milrow.
17:23John Milrow's going to keep it.
17:25Bounce outside.
17:27Did not get the first down.
17:28So it'll be third and short.
17:31Good work by the rookie out of TCU.
17:33Number 59 for Kansas City, Cooper McDonald.
17:36Yeah, what you want to see out of Milrow right here is, first of all, taking care of the football.
17:41You're in the scoring zone.
17:42At the very least, you have three points, right?
17:44So you don't want to do anything foolish with the football.
17:47Number two, you want to be decisive.
17:49And I thought he was decisive right there.
17:51Nobody was open.
17:52He had already made up in his mind he was going to run the football.
17:54But be decisive in your decisions the closer you get to the goal line.
17:58Six of eight on third down so far.
18:00The handoff to Tyus, who's got the first down.
18:02And almost had Moore reaching for the goal line.
18:06And not going to get it.
18:08But you love the effort from every Seahawk back who's been in tonight.
18:13Oh, my goodness.
18:14Anthony, Tyus just walked through this tackle.
18:17Boom, get off of me.
18:18I'm just going to walk right through you and get the first down.
18:21And he almost stayed up and scored.
18:23That's why you see he's a little frustrated.
18:25He knew he had six in the back.
18:27Trying to be the third Seahawk running back to score tonight.
18:30Charbonnet got the scoring started in the first quarter.
18:33Damian Martinez, the rookie out of Miami,
18:35with his first NFL touchdown in the third.
18:39First and goal for the Seahawks.
18:41Thanks to Anthony Tyus.
18:42Milrow looking right.
18:44Firing out towards the right side.
18:45A little bit high.
18:46Tyus was the intended receiver.
18:48And just a little bit too hot there.
18:50Glendon Miller, the rookie out of Maryland,
18:51on the coverage for Kansas City.
18:53Yeah, just a little bit off with that throw from Jalen Milrow right there.
18:58Don't know if the rain or anything had anything to do with the ball kind of slipping out of his hands.
19:02But he had an open receiver right there in the flat.
19:05Want to hit those when you get down here in the scoring zone.
19:08Donald's lock looking on.
19:14Open for a fifth touchdown tonight for their Seahawks.
19:18Tyus met in the backfield that time.
19:22What an awesome tackle by the rookie out of Oregon, Jeffrey Bassa.
19:26Yeah, Jeffrey Bassa.
19:28This kid had a heck of a career at Oregon.
19:32All the things you hear about him.
19:34Great communicator.
19:35A little undersized for an inside linebacker.
19:38But he makes up for it with his instincts and speed and quickness.
19:42It's a good play right there.
19:43Yeah, I love the Chiefs in tackles last week.
19:45The opener in Arizona.
19:48You got too long!
19:49You got too long!
19:50Third and goal from the five.
19:53Chiefs bringing pressure.
19:54Milrow was looking for Tyrone Brody, his fellow rookie of Arkansas.
20:01Josh Williams on the coverage.
20:04But he didn't throw it where nobody could get it, but he's got it.
20:06Yeah, Jalen tried to do a little bit of a back shoulder throw right here.
20:12Tyrone Brody just couldn't get his hips around.
20:14He couldn't get his hips open to get the football.
20:18And those, both of those last passes feel like kind of a touch and feel passes
20:24that Jalen will grow into in his NFL career.
20:27This is from 23 for Jason Myers.
20:31Good work by Michael Dixon to get that high snap down.
20:35Great job.
20:36Myers puts it up and through.
20:39And on a rainy Seattle night, it has been all Seahawks.
20:42Number 33-10.
20:44Seattle.
20:46Cruising.
20:48Domination by Jason Myers and the Seahawks here tonight at last drive.
20:5912 plays, 55 yards.
21:01Another five and a half minutes off the clock.
21:04And ending with a 23-yarder off the right boot of Jason Myers.
21:0733-10.
21:09Seahawks in front.
21:11Jimmy Holliday in and back deep along with Elijah Young for the Chiefs.
21:17And here comes Holliday.
21:25Holliday takes it all the way on close to the 40-yard line.
21:28Nice run back by 8-2.
21:30All right.
21:30He only had one catch tonight, but we know what this guy can do.
21:32Let's send it down to Mike B.
21:33He's with Jackson Smith and Jigba.
21:35Yes.
21:36Hey, JSN is one of the best receivers in the NFL.
21:39Right now, the run game is getting a lot of credit right now.
21:41But Bobo and Young, what are you seeing from these guys that practice every day?
21:45Consistency.
21:46Those guys make those plays all the time.
21:48And they're just doing it at a different setting.
21:50So it's good to see them ball out.
21:52One of the things that we notice is that people will say, oh, JSN is a smaller receiver.
21:56But this year, there's a noticeable gain in your body mass and the way that you're running on the field.
22:00So how are you feeling about your body and your ability to make plays this year?
22:04I feel good.
22:05I'm ready to go.
22:07Got good work in the offseason.
22:08So, you know, I'm ready to put it on the field.
22:12How much muscle weight have you gained so far?
22:14I think I gained about 7 to 10 pounds.
22:17They can check that for me, but somewhere around there.
22:21Most of America is trying to get rid of weight, and you're gaining weight.
22:23But listen, one of the things about leadership is there's guys who are very vocal.
22:27There's guys who are quiet.
22:28This year, you lost some of Tyler Lockett, DK, and you're a young guy,
22:32but you're beginning to step into your own leadership role.
22:34How are you doing it, and what's your mode of doing that?
22:37I'm doing good.
22:38I mean, I just come into work every day and show consistency.
22:41These guys know what to expect from me.
22:43I'm going to, you know, every day just work my tail off and support these guys,
22:48and we're going to have a great year.
22:50So I'm excited.
22:51Seattle is known for having group names like L.O.B., all these types of old-school defenses and offenses.
22:59This year, if you had to name what the receiving core would be, what would you call it?
23:03Man, putting me on the spot.
23:05But playmakers, man.
23:07We just some playmakers.
23:08Any time the ball in the air is ours.
23:10So, yeah, I think playmakers is very fitting.
23:13Thank you so much, JSN.
23:15Back up to Mike and Kate enjoying this running game today by the Seahawks
23:19and, of course, the Seattle weather.
23:22Always, Mike B.
23:23Great stuff there with JSN.
23:24Third and three here for Kansas City.
23:27Pocket collapsing.
23:28And it's the guy you talked about in the open, Mike Grom.
23:32Give it up for the rookie, Seth Coleman, there for the sack.
23:36Great job by Seth Coleman right here on this play.
23:39Again, just a disruptor of a player.
23:42He's going to be screaming off the right side of your screen right there.
23:46Good handwork.
23:48Way to swipe the tackle's arms down.
23:51Yeah, and have fun while you're out there doing it.
23:55It's a pretty good play.
23:5724-year-old rookie out of Illinois.
24:01And a big play on third down, forcing another Kansas City punt.
24:05Marion Williams back deep to receive.
24:09For the Seahawks.
24:11From the 20.
24:12That's the first guy in this, and then three Chiefs around it.
24:17But, again, it has been a dominant night for the guys in navy blue.
24:23Just how dominant Mike Grom.
24:24Listen to this.
24:26466 yards of total offense.
24:29151 for Kansas City.
24:31163 plays to 34 for the Chiefs.
24:36And that's this 33-10 score.
24:39Oh, so they're like outlapping the Chiefs right now.
24:42They outpaced them.
24:43They've laughed them.
24:45But, again, you've seen it throughout all of camp.
24:48There's a renewed or different energy this year with this Seahawks team.
24:55You've got to believe that Coach Mike McDonald has now started to have the team the way he wants to tell.
25:03He's really putting his imprint on it.
25:05And led by the big uglies up front, right?
25:09Absolutely.
25:09You talked about it again.
25:10You talked about Seth Goldman in the open.
25:11It's like you're an oracle, Michael Robinson.
25:13And he talked about the offensive line looked great last week.
25:17170 yards rushing.
25:19They had that in the first half here tonight.
25:21Yeah, they had it in the first half.
25:23And any time you can get 300 and 350-pound grown men that play on the offensive line,
25:30any time they can go run into other people and move other people and be big and physical,
25:35they're going to have some fun.
25:37And Giacardier Wright does well to skip over a couple of would-be tacklers.
25:42And then McDonald's and Miller take him down.
25:46You see John Benton right there.
25:48One of the other assistant coaches that Clint Kubiak shouted out yesterday,
25:51brought John Benton along with him here to Seattle.
25:57What you love about Coach Benton is he challenges these offensive linemen, man.
26:02You should see these guys in one-on-ones when they're going up against big Leonard Williams
26:06and those defensive linemen.
26:07He challenges guys, but in a good way.
26:11He's a teacher.
26:11That's one thing I can say about a lot of the coaches here in Seattle.
26:15They're teachers.
26:16It's a movement before the snap.
26:21We mentioned it back in the first half,
26:23but I don't think we've talked about it enough yet this preseason.
26:27The health of a guy who's not in right now,
26:29but will be the starting right tackle as long as everybody stays healthy.
26:33And that's big number 72 out of Washington State.
26:35Dave Lucas wasn't healthy last year.
26:38Started the year on the pup list.
26:39Was injured the year before.
26:42And finally, 100%.
26:45And I think we can tell.
26:47Yeah, that was one of the first things I asked him when I first saw him in this training camp.
26:51I'm like, hey, how you feeling?
26:53He said, Mike Robb, excellent.
26:55Gave me the A-OK.
26:56I said, oh, yeah, man, ready to see you maul some people.
27:00But he's a big guy who can bend, and he's just a mauler of a right tackle.
27:06Can't wait to see this guy get going in the regular season.
27:08Number 72 on the left, and then Bradford, Charles Cross.
27:13Dancing Bear, 67, yeah, that's the Dancing Bear right there, man.
27:16Coming back, just had finger surgery.
27:17All of these guys will be ready week one when the San Francisco 49ers come to town.
27:24And one thing, Kate, these guys hang out together.
27:27You know, they're always eating lunch together.
27:30They're always together.
27:32Olu at center as well being a big part of what's going on up front for the Seattle Seahawks offense.
27:39Great punt by Michael Dixon.
27:41No surprise there.
27:42This is Sky Moore streaking down the left sideline for Kansas City.
27:46And Sky Moore is going to go all the way to the house.
27:51Touchdown, Kansas City.
27:5388 yards for Sky Moore.
27:58Wow.
28:00Sky Moore has had some issues catching the football from the quarterback tonight.
28:05But when it's coming off the foot of a punter, he seems to have no issues.
28:10Stayed in bounds.
28:12Walked the tightrope.
28:13Let's check it out again.
28:16Catches the football.
28:18One move going to the right.
28:20And, yeah, he stayed in bounds the entire time.
28:24And he finished it.
28:27It's almost like Dixon outkicked his coverage there because he's got such a strong leg.
28:33That can happen when you have a punter that constantly outpunts his coverage.
28:39Yeah, man.
28:40Kansas City is going to go for two here.
28:42Okay.
28:42Good for 2-4 because, as you mentioned, had a couple of drops earlier tonight.
28:46So, nice little finishing kick there.
28:50Number 24.
28:51Looking for all these guys.
28:53Whether they need the 53s of the teams who are calling tonight or whether they get a shot with somebody else here in the NFL.
28:58So, Seahawks are going to call time.
29:01Get set for this two-point conversion.
29:0330 seconds.
29:04But in the preseason, man, you just want everybody to stay healthy.
29:08And you want everybody to show out because we're rooting for every single one of these guys to reach their dreams.
29:15Absolutely.
29:16And you want to see good football, too, right?
29:19You do some more guys healthy.
29:21See Coach McDonald taking time out right there.
29:24It's preseason for the officials.
29:26It's preseason for the players.
29:27It's also preseason for the coaches.
29:29And you just can't, again, you can't simulate these situations like they come up in a game.
29:35So, you see Coach McDonald wanting to get the right defense on there with the young guys, making sure he has his calls.
29:42Three minutes to go here in week two in Seattle.
29:46Derek Smith is the back.
29:48Bailey Zappi in a QB.
29:50Jamie Holliday motioning behind the line.
29:54Zappi does out and roll to his right.
29:57Fires.
29:57And that one is deflected.
29:59And incompletes.
30:00Jarek Reid the second with a pass breakdown for Seattle.
30:06Jay Reid had his eyes on that one the whole time.
30:08He was baiting the quarterback to throw this football.
30:12You see, Bailey on the sprint out.
30:14All this sprint right option.
30:18Oh, yeah.
30:18Jay Reid sat, waited, saw the quarterback's eyes and reacted.
30:23It's a good play.
30:25We were just talking about how important that touchdown was for Sky Moore.
30:29That's a big play for Jarek because this is a year three for him out of New Mexico.
30:34And he's kind of slowly fallen down the depth chart just because other guys have been playing so well in camp.
30:40He started last year on the pup list like Abe Lucas, who we talked about.
30:44Only played five games.
30:45Went on IR in mid-December towards ACL in 2023.
30:50So, he's had to deal with a lot of injuries.
30:52And now he's finally healthy.
30:53He's finally healthy and the kid is always smiling, having a great attitude.
30:59Yeah.
31:00Definitely glad to be.
31:03Tyler Hall and John Rice Plumlee, the deep man for Seattle.
31:083-0-3 to play.
31:11And to Plumlee it comes.
31:12Former college quarterback takes it out to about the 31-yard line.
31:18Flags on the play.
31:23All right, Mike Robb.
31:24So, around this call from Sean Smith.
31:29I just want to talk about the things that impressed you most tonight.
31:32Let's see what Sean has to say first.
31:34Seahawks have run for 268 yards, Mike.
31:47Passed for 209.
31:49Got two rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns.
31:52A safety, a field goal.
31:55I mean, other than that, front return touchdown they just gave up.
31:58It's been a pretty impressive night for Mike McDonald's squad.
32:02Yeah, and they have just the energy that they're playing with right now.
32:08I mean, it jumps off the tape.
32:10That's one thing I've been impressed with.
32:12It doesn't matter whether it's the starting unit, the backups, or the third string.
32:16They're all playing at a very high level.
32:20Some quarterbacks right there.
32:23All smiles understandable.
32:24Of course.
32:25Of course their smiles.
32:26They were almost perfect out there.
32:28And Cooper Cump, too.
32:29But I love what Cooper there with the hoodie on.
32:33Yakima, Washington native back here where he grew up playing football.
32:37But what he said about Sam, he said, Sam's best football is in front of him.
32:41Yeah.
32:43And that's saying something about a guy who threw for over 4,000 yards last year for the Minnesota Vikings
32:49that had one of the best records in the NFL.
32:51No row hands off to Tyus again.
32:53He's just going to lower the shoulder pads, get it out towards about the 22.
32:57But Cooper talked about, hey, that won everything back in 2021, right?
33:02Best wideout in the NFL, in the Super Bowl, did it all.
33:06He said, early in my career, I wanted to be an impact player.
33:09And now I want to be that and an impact person.
33:13And he's been that so far.
33:15Looking forward to what he does this season.
33:17Two-minute warning here in Seattle.
33:24In Seattle, 33-16.
33:26The Seahawks over the Chiefs.
33:28And we've got a lot to get to with the postgame show coming up.
33:32Cliff Aver will join me as always.
33:34And Michael Bennett will have some walk-off interviews down on the field
33:37where the Seahawks will be a very happy bunch.
33:39Very productive night for them on both sides of the ball.
33:42And really, just an impressive, efficient evening.
33:45Kate, Mike.
33:47A lot for you guys to talk about on the postgame, Paul.
33:49And maybe a few more things here.
33:51Final two minutes of Week 2 in Seattle.
33:55And the Seahawks have dominated from the opening kick.
33:58Anthony Tyus trying to break that tackle.
34:01Wasn't able to do so.
34:02Good work by Brandon George, the rookie out of Pitt.
34:04Yeah, this is the time in the game where Beast Moe used to say,
34:08Mike Robb, let's go make our money.
34:10Okay, four-minute offense.
34:12We want to keep the ball, not give it back to the opposing offense,
34:16and just run it right, run it left, run it right, run it left.
34:20Well, unfortunately, Tyus tried but couldn't get past a couple of guys
34:24in the white jersey.
34:25So, Brashard Smith back deep around his own 35-yard line.
34:30Michael Dixon out to punt for the Seahawks.
34:34Buck 20 to go tonight here in Seattle.
34:36Seahawks will wrap up the preseason next week in Green Bay.
34:41And Kansas City finally headed home after two road games to start their preseason.
34:45Take on Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.
34:48They open the regular season down in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
34:51Gets the Chargers another booming punt.
34:56And Smith unable to keep this one inbounds.
35:00So, Michael Dixon, what a little revenge there.
35:02He averaged 55 yards per punt last week, Mike Robb.
35:05We know that he's one of the best all-time in the NFL.
35:08He's amazing.
35:09Like, when he punts the football, it's beautiful.
35:12I, like, watch it like a pass.
35:13Like, oh, my goodness.
35:14And it turns over like a pass as well.
35:16Third-highest career average in NFL history.
35:20This is Michael's eighth season.
35:22That's crazy.
35:22He averages 48.2 in his career last year, just on the season, 49.4.
35:29So, just on average, just whatever, just average, he swings his leg and the ball goes half of a football field.
35:35Doesn't happen for you?
35:36No.
35:37Just average.
35:38No.
35:40Let's see if Bailey Zappi and Kansas City want to do anything here to close this one out tonight.
35:46Handing off to the rookie out of Western Kentucky, Elijah Young.
35:50First carry for Young tonight.
35:53Yeah, looks like Kansas City's just trying to get out of here without anybody else getting hurt.
36:00It is good to see number 35 out there in blue.
36:03The rookie out of the University of Washington.
36:07Just signed earlier this week, a federal way, native and star.
36:12Alfonso Tuputala is part of that.
36:18Husky team that made it all the way into the national championship in college football a couple of years ago
36:22and finally got the call to come play in the NFL, making his debut here the last couple of minutes.
36:30Any rep helps.
36:32All 32 teams are watching the tape.
36:34The more you can put on tape, the more you give yourself an opportunity to make a living playing football.
36:40And that's going to do it tonight here in Seattle.
36:41Final score 33-16.
36:44As the Seahawks cruise past Travis Kelsey and Kansas City.
36:49Talked about the domination, Mike Robb.
36:51Four hundred and seventy-seven total yards of offense.
36:55Two hundred and sixty-eight of them came on the ground.
36:57That guy had a couple of receiving touchdowns for the Seahawks.
37:01Zach Charbonnet and Damian Martinez with the rushing touchdowns.
37:06Oh, yeah, there was a safety.
37:08Yeah, it was a safety.
37:08As well, Brandon Peely.
37:09Shout out to the backup nose for the Seahawks.
37:12Shout out, Peely.
37:13What's going on, Brandon?
37:14And Jay Reed and Spoon and all the starters who didn't play.
37:20Spoon saw a little bit of time way back at the start of the first quarter.
37:23But, again, we talked about it last week.
37:25Seeing the guys get a couple of penalties, which you don't want during the regular season.
37:28But all the starters who didn't play were running on to the football fields
37:33because they were so excited for their teammates who were making plays here in the preseason.
37:37Twelve is one.
37:38And that's the message Coach Mike McDonald has been saying to this team.
37:44throughout all of training camp.
37:46And now in the preseason games, you're starting to see that energy manifest on the football field.
37:52It's a beautiful thing to see.
37:53All right.
37:53Well, couldn't get the win last week.
37:54A 23 all-time with Pete Carroll and the Raiders.
37:57No doubt about this one tonight.
37:59That guy, that guy, and everybody else getting in on the fun
38:03as the Seahawks knock off the Kansas City Chiefs by a final score of 33-16.
38:09Stay with us, though.
38:10Paul Stilvey, Cliff Averill, Mike Bennett.
38:13We've got a lot to talk about on tonight's postgame show.
38:17From Michael Robinson, Ted Kozak, Jeff Chapman, all of us up here in the booth.
38:21I'm Kate Scott saying thanks so much for watching.
38:23And so long from the booth.
38:25We'll send you down to the postgame show.
38:27Seahawks, roll past Kansas City.
38:29We'll see you next time.
38:31We'll see you next time.
38:31We'll see you next time.
38:31We'll see you next time.
38:32We'll see you next time.
38:32We'll see you next time.
38:33We'll see you next time.
38:33We'll see you next time.
38:33We'll see you next time.
38:34We'll see you next time.
38:35We'll see you next time.
38:35We'll see you next time.
38:35We'll see you next time.
38:37We'll see you next time.
38:37We'll see you next time.
38:37We'll see you next time.
38:39We'll see you next time.
38:39We'll see you next time.
38:40We'll see you next time.
38:41We'll see you next time.
38:41We'll see you next time.
38:42We'll see you next time.
38:43We'll see you next time.
38:44We'll see you next time.
