00:00Hi, I'm Grace Hosking from Quambatook in northwest Victoria, and I'm really proud to be a finalist for the Next
00:07Gen Agri Leader Award.
00:08I'm a sixth generation farmer at Woodlands where my family is celebrating 150 years on the farm this year.
00:15And I also work as a senior extension specialist with Birchip Cropping Group.
00:20As a grower myself, I know how much information farmers have coming at them all the time.
00:25A big part of my work is trying to make that information easier to access and actually useful,
00:31whether that's through traditional extension or newer ideas like ChatBCG that help meet growers where they're at.
00:37The thing I probably love most about agriculture, though, is the community around it.
00:42Through BCG's Young Farmer Network, I've been really passionate about creating opportunities for young farmers to meet,
00:48to learn from each other, and to build those connections that are so important in rural areas.
00:53I'm also involved with the Bort Agricultural and Pastoral Society because I think we need to keep celebrating agriculture
00:59and sharing the real story of what farming and rural communities are all about.
01:04Farming has given me a lot, a career, great people around me, and a community I really love.
01:10So I suppose a lot of what I'm trying to do is just give a tiny bit of that back.
