02:52Hello, everybody.

02:53Welcome to this episode of the Pro Wrestling Podcast.

02:55I'm Dr. Fro.

02:56If you've got questions, comments, concerns,

02:58something you want me to talk about in a future episode,

03:00the best way to do that is to call into the Pro Wrestling Sound Offline 267-642-1160.

03:05And I will get to those questions, comments, or concerns in a future episode.

03:08But tonight, we've got a lot to talk about and I don't have a ton of time.

03:11So let's get through all of it.

03:13First off, Glenn Jacobs, also known as WWE Hall of Famer Kane,

03:18had his last day in office as the mayor of Knox County.

03:21And he is leaving, but not without controversy.

03:24His last order, his last thing he signed into law was to get the flock out of Knox County

03:31ordinance, which is going to ban the ALPRs, which if you don't know what those are,

03:36those are the automated license plate recognition software things from flock.

03:40They are very controversial because they track every movement you make and people feel it's

03:44very invasive.

03:45Signing an order to ban them from Knox County based on the fact that originally he supported

03:51them, but there was all kinds of money and shady business going on.

03:55And then he found out what they really do and who was getting kickbacks for this stuff.

03:58So he ended up banning those in Knox County.

04:00Last act of official business before giving up his role after eight years as the mayor of

04:05Knox County.

04:06Now getting ready to head off into the sunset and do the next chapter of his life.

04:09I hope he gives back to the wrestling business.

04:11Be an agent.

04:12Go see the fans.

04:14Do some cons.

04:14Whatever it is.

04:15But thank you, Glenn Jacobs, for your service to your community.

04:17It's a beautiful thing.

04:19Lots of confusion today with Carmela.

04:21She came out on the Hot Mom Shit podcast.

04:23And I don't usually curse on here.

04:24I apologize.

04:24That's the name of the podcast.

04:26And when speaking to the host, she talked about being retired.

04:29She's like, I can't wrestle anymore.

04:31I was a professional wrestler.

04:32I can't wrestle anymore.

04:33I'm retired.

04:34But then later on X, when people were losing their minds over this, they basically claimed

04:39that it was because of her foot.

04:39If you don't remember, she had drop foot issues, similar to what Scott Steiner had way back in

04:43the day, and your foot just doesn't react the way it used to.

04:48Basically, it's almost like having a dead foot.

04:50She said, no, my foot's healed, and I'm not retired.

04:53I'm so confused.

04:55I hope you are as confused as I am, so I'm not the only one.

04:58When you tell a podcast that you're retired, you tell the people on X that you're not.

05:03And later on, there was a comment about she'll always come out of retirement whenever she

05:07wants kind of thing.

05:09Not sure what to make of that.

05:10Is she coming back?

05:11Is she not coming back?

05:12Is she happy being a mom?

05:13Does Corey Graves make enough money that she doesn't have to come back?

05:16I don't know.

05:16But definitely sent some mixed messages, and people are not sure what to think.

05:20Let's talk about some free agency news.

05:23Anthony Bowens, AEW superstar, apparently will become a free agent on October 1st, as will

05:28his former acclaimed tag team partner, Max Caster, both contracts expiring on October 1st.

05:34Now, Caster, we've talked about before.

05:36Anthony Bowens, this is new.

05:38And there's rumor that WWE wanted him in 2019 before they kind of dropped the ball on it.

05:42He ended up signing with AEW.

05:43I would be very shocked if they didn't jump all over him as soon as he's available.

05:47But if they were smart, because they've been talking about this new push on the tag team

05:50division, sign Bowens and Caster and put them back together.

05:53That was the best versions of them to begin with and reunite the acclaimed in WWE.

05:58If you really want to bolster that division like they've been claiming, then you bring

06:01in great tag teams.

06:02And the acclaimed were over like Rover, man.

06:04Everybody loved them when they were at the top of the food chain in AEW.

06:07And for whatever reason, Tony Khan got creative and split them up and did stupid stuff with

06:11them.

06:11And they've never been the same since.

06:13Both free agents in October, unless something changes between now and then.

06:16And I think they'd both be a great, solid addition to the WWE roster.

06:20Bronson Reed is on his way back.

06:22They're saying he will be back in the month of September, and he is scheduled to be a monster,

06:27monster, mega main event heel.

06:29And it sounds like his first feud will be with Oba Femi.

06:31Will he be at Sunday night's main event and interfere in the match with Braun Breaker?

06:35And Oba, I believe that's exactly what they'll do, because that's the best way to protect

06:39both wrestlers, have neither one of them win or lose clean.

06:42And that way you can set Oba up for a huge program with Bronson Reed, who looks absolutely

06:47jacked out of his mind if you've seen the pictures online.

06:50Dave Meltzer in the news, driving me absolutely batty this time, talking about war games,

06:54saying that they're going to do a bloodline, a full family bloodline with Roman, Jacob,

07:00Solo, the Usos, all going against Royce Keys and OTM.

07:04But Royce Keys and OTM are three.

07:05The other are five.

07:06Who are the other two people that's going to join them?

07:08And where does LA Knight fit in all this stuff?

07:10They got to start answering some of those questions if you're Dave Meltzer, are going

07:14to make a claim like that.

07:15I don't see Solo going back to the family.

07:18I don't see Jacob wanting to be in that mix with the Usos and all that stuff.

07:23I feel like Jacob wants to break away, and he and Solo would do well doing that and aligning

07:28with LA Knight, having Roman and the Usos versus Solo, Jacob, and LA versus the OTM and Royce

07:35Keys faction.

07:36Whatever that is.

07:37That would be more to my liking.

07:40Instead of having five on five, have three on three on three, similar to what they've done

07:44before in the distant past.

07:45But I don't know.

07:46You got to give me a pathway to get there, Dave Meltzer, because you make a lot of claims

07:50that don't come to fruition.

07:52And I'm hoping this is not just you blowing smoke.

07:54It was announced earlier that Crown Jewel 2026 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

07:59on November 7th.

08:01No idea what's going to be on the card yet, but you know, every time they do one of those

08:04shows, they're always paying for top flight talent, top flight matches.

08:07We'll have to wait and see.

08:08But now we have a confirmed date, another show on the pay-per-view calendar.

08:13It was announced by the sports authority over there.

08:16And so one more to add to our viewing list and have to react to.

08:21I can't wait to see what they do for that show.

08:23Maybe we'll see the rematch of Roman and LA Knight from the last time they were in Riyadh

08:27for a match with each other.

08:29After that, look, we got to get into it briefly.

08:31Raw last night, interesting show.

08:33Started out with the OTM attack on the Uso brothers.

08:37They dragged the Uthos out of the car.

08:38This was straight up gang warfare.

08:40Beat the snot out of them, slamming power bombs on the car and everything.

08:43Jacob Fatu shows up, chases him off.

08:45He ends up going out to the ring and cutting a promo that apparently he dropped an MF-er

08:50on and it had to be edited.

08:51He got in trouble in the back and they put out a public apology.

08:54I loved it.

08:55You're on Netflix.

08:56There's plenty of F-bombs on Netflix.

08:58Stop acting like you're on public primetime television.

09:01Just let things be what they are.

09:03Go back to Attitude Era, you know, feel.

09:06It was much better back then.

09:08Again, I'm going to bounce around a little bit.

09:10We had Raquel Rodriguez defending the Intercontinental Championship against Sol Ruka.

09:13Solid match.

09:14Lyra Valkyria gets involved.

09:16Costs Sol the match.

09:17I think that's good because I still want to keep Raquel with that belt for a little while.

09:20And Sol and Lyra obviously have to keep working on their issues.

09:23We got to see Chad Gable come out, which led to a number one contenders match between

09:27Ethan Page and Dragon Lee to see who will challenge Chad Gable for that championship.

09:32Chad wanted to face Dragon Lee in Mexico when they do Raw from Mexico the same night that

09:37Roman will defend the World Championship.

09:39And it's going to be because Dragon Lee defeats Ethan Page.

09:42Now, the only thing I have a problem with is since bringing Ethan Page to the main roster,

09:45the guy just can't seem to get any momentum.

09:47And he's a top flight talent.

09:49A little surprising there.

09:50I'm not surprised.

09:51They should have just done the Mexico thing and done a separate program with Ethan Page.

09:55But apparently that's not in the cards.

09:56We'll have to wait and see how things play out.

09:57We did have a Javon Evans-Dominic Mysterio match that ended up becoming a disqualification

10:02when JD McDonough got involved, which ended up bringing up Joe Hendry, which brought out

10:06the worst part of the entire night for me.

10:09They turned it into a tag team match.

10:11Javon Evans and Joe Hendry against the Judgment Day.

10:14And they have Hendry eat the pin from a Rey Mysterio five-star splash.

10:19That's terrible.

10:21Why did you even bring him to the company or up to the main roster if you're just going to

10:24beat Joe Hendry every week?

10:26He is not a mid-carder.

10:27He was over as anybody else on the roster when he showed up at WrestleMania to challenge

10:31Randy Orton and you jobbed him out to Randy Orton so fast.

10:34You need to start building this guy.

10:35He does not need to be a mid-carder.

10:37He could be an upper-card guy if you build him correctly.

10:39We've gotten completely away from the whole say his name and he appears thing.

10:43That would have been funnier if you had Javon call out his name.

10:46It would have made more sense.

10:47They've gotten away from everything that made Joe Hendry amazing.

10:50And they're kind of neuter to everything he does.

10:52Please fix that, WWE.

10:54You're killing me.

10:55We do have this segment with Roman arriving and telling Jacob to handle keys and then his

10:59face off with L.A. Knight.

11:01And they go back and forth for a few minutes.

11:02Some old puns from years ago claiming L.A. Knight is trying to be the rock and all this

11:07and that.

11:07But it leads to the attack in the back of Solo Soko.

11:10We don't get to see it at that time who it was who attacked him.

11:13But Jacob is back there.

11:15And it leads to Roman coming back and doing a Superman punch on L.A. Knight laying him out.

11:20Obviously, this has to go further.

11:22We'll have to wait and see where it goes from there.

11:23But I don't know, man.

11:26I just wish they would give me more clarity about what's going on.

11:30The mystery attacker thing is stupid right now.

11:32Unless you're going to shock us all with two additions that join that faction and make

11:36your little war game seem that Dave Meltzer is talking about.

11:38We did have a backstage segment with Stephanie Vecura and Becky Lynch.

11:42Clearly, these two are headed for a collision.

11:45I can't wait to see that.

11:46I don't care which one takes the title from Liv.

11:48But at this point, I'm turning the page on Liv Morgan in terms of my fandom.

11:51This is the most boring championship reign in the history of life.

11:54And it's horrible booking.

11:55It's not Liv's fault.

11:56I'm not mad at Liv.

11:57I'm mad at Triple H and the creative team because they haven't come up with something

12:00better for her to do.

12:01This is total, total trash.

12:03From there, we get the big match.

12:05Penta and Rey Fenix, finals of the tournament.

12:07Who's going to face Roman Reigns in Mexico City?

12:09And it turns out, after an absolute banger between the brothers, Penta, like we suspected,

12:15is going to face Roman Reigns, who does come out and has a face-off holding the championship

12:20up, which was very cool.

12:21And then you see the Cerro Miero thing, which was awesome from Penta.

12:25And that's how we went off the show.

12:27All in all, solid show.

12:28A couple things drove me nuts.

12:30The Judgment Day stuff absolutely drove me batty.

12:33If I'm doing one to five stars, I'm giving this a three-star raw, average raw.

12:37Still not a bad thing.

12:38And you don't have to have a five-star raw every week, but could have been better, clearly.

12:42For now, though, that's all the time we have for this episode.

12:44Check back with us next episode.

12:45We'll run down the latest wrestling news and rumors.
