00:09christian mahogany and blake miller although the practice was just a walkthrough is this this is
00:13the walkthrough right kang where they estimate whether or not they would have been able to
00:17practice if they go full practice yeah they're just walkthroughs so the designations are if they
00:22were to have a full practice would they have participated and then that's what they put down
00:26so blake miller would not have participated in practice had it been a full practice gotcha
00:32i mean it would blake miller feels like a key guy to have out there already

00:44to see everybody well hopefully he's healthy enough where he can go and it sounds like he should be at

01:23goes on but blake miller needs to stay healthy to keep growing and getting better uh but with
01:29scruggs who was also listed what would have been limited yesterday as your center and then you got
01:36mahogany who was would have been listed as out of practice at left guard we don't know if he's going
01:41to play left guard or not but the good news is ben bartch is the guy who's competing with him
01:48and i thought did well i thought the offensive line overall played pretty well uh you and i differ on
01:53that a little bit um you thought there was more pressure coming in on the quarterback um but the
01:58run game i thought was really solid um goff only got hit a couple of times and well i guess
02:04more than
02:04a couple times i think got hit eight times in the game but only sacked once and then he had
02:08the
02:09incomplete pass um on another play was just a mix-up from uh vaki the running back who came
02:16into to help out uh blocking on on chase young and ended up hitting penne sewell instead which
02:23allowed wasn't great allowed uh chase young to get the open shot on on jared goff but overall i like
02:29what the offensive line did and and it starts with the running game because that's where the lions
02:33offense is going to start it's going to start with the running game and jameer gibbs and they're not
02:37afraid to give them the football um but evidenced by what buffalo went through against houston
02:43i mean it seems like you could have a little bit of a shootout there and and take advantage of
02:47of a secondary play but they've got some pretty good pass rushers on the buffalo you know i want
02:52to get to something that came up during the week we had a caller i called up and said he
02:56wasn't a fan
02:57of petzing's game plan and is worried about him as a coordinator because when the lions offense was at
03:04its best they made heavy use of play action um i just took a look at the the numbers in
03:12the nfl how
03:13many play action passes plays they ran the lions ran 14 the most in the nfl in week one so
03:21for the
03:23caller that wanted more you could still want more just understand it is not an ignored part of their
03:29game plan yeah and how different does everything look offensively does do things get opened up more
03:34if jamo catches that pass and they're up seven nothing and it's a deep that deep pass he was he
03:39was had to step and it was a perfect throw if he hangs on to that yep but that's that's
03:44your giant
03:45chunk play that may have gone for a touchdown or even it gets tackled there you're talking about a 50
03:50yard play at least the longest play the lions had in the game on sunday was 22 yards and that

03:56overtime on the outpass to jameson williams outside of that they didn't have those 20 yard plays a
04:03bunch of them maybe had one other play that went for 20 yards and that was another pass play yeah
04:08uh the pocket time for jared goff so how much time you have to throw uh ranked in the bottom

04:18the league it ranked right around let me see here there were one two three four five six seven
04:23quarterbacks that had less time than jerry goff jerry goff 2.3 seconds of pocket time so i i hope

04:32gets better as the season goes on you know the the running running game the guys up front got the
04:37job
04:37done and obviously gibbs had a huge day you know something that that will be challenged this week
04:43craig russo bradley chubb at oliver and oliver's really good so you're getting it from inside you're
04:51getting it outside it's a test for them but running the football is going to be the bread and butter
04:58and the usage of jameer gibbs is going to be the bread and butter and that'll set everything else up
05:03and then you'll see the play action and then hopefully they've got these plays where they
05:06drag jamo across the field and then they can hit them on this crossing pattern and you know a seven
05:11yard pass turns into a 49 yard touchdown explosives are going to be an issue that is something that
05:19buffalo did very well against what is considered a much better defense but i'm just going to throw
05:26this out there gator because coming out of week one you always do the what if game because every season
05:35somebody's better than you think every season there's a team that the respect grows for them as
05:42the year goes on and every season i find myself watching other games and wondering you know what
05:51it means there's one on the calendar this week one on the schedule this week i really want to keep
