00:04Union Minister Pralaj Joshi has now mounted a scathing attack on the Congress government in the state.
00:09He has claimed that Congress's mask of patriotism has fallen off
00:13and continues to question the Congress's objection to seeing all six stanzas of Vande Mataram.
00:19Pralaj Joshi further goes on to state that this is an unpatriotic mandate by the Congress
00:25and his party is compromising on national pride.
00:30He has continued to tweet that the BJP will continue to fight Congress's quote-unquote anti-national mindset.
00:36Now remember this comes after the Vande Mataram, which is of course one of India's national sound,
00:41continues to be a political hot potato between Congress and BJP, especially in Karnataka.
00:48Speaking of Karnataka, let me go across to my senior colleague Nagajan Dwarakarnath, who is joining us at this point.
00:54Nagajan, take us through what has happened today in Karnataka Assembly
00:57and what are the repercussions that we are seeing when it comes to the political fallout of this round.
01:03In fact, when the Assembly convened this morning, there was chaos in terms of the Vande Mataram.
01:08There was a big showdown between the government and the opposition.
01:11The government stopped the song with just two stanzas of Vande Mataram rendition with a recorded clip
01:17and the Speaker started to proceed the House with regular business.
01:20And immediately the BJP MLS stood up and continued to sing the rest of the Vande Mataram stanzas
01:25with a paper in hand as well.
01:27So it was a big showdown between the government and the opposition.
01:32Now, Union Minister Prala Joshi has termed this as a disgrace
01:35and that Congress is ready to compromise on national pride to please the masses in Delhi
01:41is what Prala Joshi is saying.
01:43And he also goes on to say that this law was passed in the parliament
01:47that all stanzas have to be sung in to protect the national honour
01:51and Congress is ready to compromise this is what Prala Joshi is saying.
01:56And also said that the unpatriotic mandate is a direct clap on the face of the law
02:03that was passed by the National Law of the Union government in Delhi in parliament in 2026
02:09and said that the state government cannot issue a separate order
02:14overseeing the national law which says that all the tanzas should be sung of Vande Mataram.
02:20So it's a big showdown and face-off between the government and the opposition in Karnataka.
