00:00Police are hunting for suspects behind arson attacks on two convenience stores in Kuching and Sri Amman on Sunday,

00:07in which objects believed to contain explosives or flammable materials were thrown into the premises.

00:14Royal Malaysia Police Management Director Datuk Mohamed Zainal Abdullah, who is also the Sarawak Police Commissioner,

00:21said police had received two reports over the incidents, which shared a similar modus operandi.

00:27He said initial investigations found that two masked men dressed in dark clothing entered the stores

00:34before throwing objects believed to contain explosives or flammable materials inside.

00:40The acts caused explosions, property damage and a fire in one of the incidents.

00:45No fatalities or serious injuries were reported.

00:49Mohamed Zainal said the motive was still under investigation,

00:52with the cases being investigated under Section 436 of the Penal Code.

00:58Police are also analysing the materials used, examining CCTV recordings
