00:19lost in the first week by three to the seahawks you'd be like okay and then you see that they
00:23kick the ass of the steelers you'd be like all right that's good good place to be but then you
00:28see that the offense and drake may just isn't firing on all cylinders the way he was in the
00:33middle of last season what are you hearing people say about this patriots offense right now adam
00:38well it has not been the same he's been a little bit discombobulated and i don't know if it's just
00:44a slow start it's getting back into a rhythm uh sequence whatever it is it's not working the way
00:51that it did last season when he was runner up for the mvp award that has not been the way
00:57he's performed
00:57so far this season it's early uh look last year they lost the raiders at home and i don't think
01:02we would have been talking about drake may at that point in those regards and so he came on
01:07and you'd like to think that the same will happen this year uh that it will slowly build and he'll
01:12return to his level of play but so far that hasn't happened not exactly sure why adam what are you
01:19hearing if anything about mike and whenu's injury the severity of it is there any chance he comes back
01:23this year i i'd be surprised um look if they could have a deep run that certainly enhances the chances
01:32but the way that i heard is i i think the regular season seems like uh that's a realistic goal

01:42him to miss and if he can come back any sooner great but i don't know that they should be
01:46counting
01:46on that and how about aj brown any updates on aj you know i think that that's going to take

01:53while i i i think it was supposed to be a six to eight week injury i think he's been
01:59from what i
02:00understand moving pretty well um looks like a guy who could come back on the quicker side of six weeks
02:06than eight weeks so that's encouraging but you know you're on ir that's minimum for
02:13i'm going to guess today based on some of the things or maybe it's six maybe it's six but
02:18there's still a little ways to go and you have to see how he's recovering so adam when you the
02:22offense starts off this poorly and ends the season as poorly as it's played you know everyone's trying
02:27to you know take apart the cadaver and see what happened and josh mcdaniel's name is coming up a
02:33decent amount and there's been a lot of uh speculation that his offense has become too predictable
02:39remember at the end of the super bowl last year i believe it was devon witherspoon said
02:43that they knew what plays were coming because there were tells that uh the offense was giving
02:47have you been hearing anybody speak about josh mcdaniel's and maybe some of the things that he's doing
02:53that are making these plays predictable for other defenses not like that i mean i still think he's
02:58regarded as one of the best play callers in the league so to me uh maybe there are people saying
03:04that i have not heard that uh doesn't mean it can't be but i i think you'd want him being
03:10a part
03:11of your offensive play calling more often than not what do you think about so obviously the giants had
03:17a significant injury at quarterback uh adam maybe maybe this is fantasy land but tommy devito is here
03:22would there be any interest from the giants in kicking the tires of the pats backup quarterback and
03:28what would it take to get him in a scenario like that i i like the idea actually i think

03:35think it's kind of interesting and and they you know they they seem to have depth at that position
03:43so um to me look i i think the giants have to do something you can't you can't lose jackson

03:51the season and think that you're just going to be able to go with him with james winston and jay
03:56caner i i i i don't expect that to be the case um you know well the patriots don't have

04:52going to reach out to him for uh him to come out and do a tryout and and florio says

04:59he call colin kaepernick now is there any chance colin kaepernick at i believe he's like 38 now
05:05would end up getting a call either from the giants or from anybody else in the nfl or is that

05:10of done and over with i mean we're talking about something from nine years ago so that that would
05:16surprise they might as well call tom brady and peyton manning and and and and drew breeze again
05:22and all these other people well drew breeze was last year i mean you know so i mean these things

05:32nine years ago that that's hard to imagine that you know no disrespecting that there aren't other
05:38quarterbacks that are more physically ready to step in right now uh and try to help the giants in the
05:45difficult position that they're now in all right speaking of ex-quarterbacks i want to talk about
05:51tom brady for a minute because i'm fascinated by tom brady and uh just how much the guy can get

05:56with as a broadcaster so first of all he can own an nfl team he can broadcast nfl games broadcast

06:03involving the team he owns they wrote special restrictions around him and now apparently he can
06:08just say oh blank on national tv and it doesn't matter like are the rules like do they just basically

06:15whatever tom brady wants and he'll never get in trouble you know tom's a big you know he's he's
06:21got a lot of juice you know so yeah he can do what he wants yeah i guess he he
06:25can he can watch jayton
06:26dangler get hurt and curse about it and i didn't realize that like you know i i'll try that and

06:32how it works out but it's not going to be very well it's not going to end very well it

06:36and are you still kind of fascinated the way that they completely changed the rules on how he is
06:43allowed to broadcast even though he is partial owner of one of the nfl teams yeah i you know that
06:49that does not i don't get too worked up about that like i know some people do that that to

06:57say okay um i that i understand people complaining about the conflict of interest there but
07:04to me tom brady's professional teams are always uh uh sensitive and secretive about what they
07:16surrender to outsiders always and if there's something that's private and secretive uh they're
07:22not gonna they're not gonna let him know right you know they're just not they're just not gonna do
07:26that how much do you believe speaking of tom brady how much do you believe uh that i mean i

07:33vrabel believes it and it sounded like josh mcdaniel's the way he answered the question
07:37seems to think that this could have been a possibility that tom brady may have helped
07:43mike mcdonald and the seahawks when it came to them and their game plan during the super bowl against the
07:48patriots well i mean i think we all heard the comments right like he said there was somebody
07:53he reached out to you want to say and i think everybody jumped to the conclusion that it was tom
07:58right i mean i think that's that that seems to be the case so um i don't know what's the

08:05like that's what everybody seemed to sense yes i guess since then vrabel has straight up said that
08:14he believed that it happened and josh mcdaniel said i don't know if i'll answer that i have no dog
08:18in this fight which is a quote that tom brady used when talking about who he's rooting for for the
08:23super bowl so it seems like there's a belief that amongst the patriots that tom brady did indeed help
08:30them and just as an insider i didn't know what you would have heard anything i i nothing more than
08:35the conversation that's occurred around it with people speculating that tom didn't in fact help
08:40them but i don't have any great insight into that does he have a grudge against the patriots do you
08:45think i i don't think so well because he i i think in a case like that my guess would
08:53be that
08:54you're helping people that reach out and so um if i don't know the course of events but if
09:00he had a certain relationship with somebody and they called you're going to help that person when
09:06they call a i guess you could say hey that's my former team but i don't know i think that
09:13people
09:13are loyal to people not teams and so if somebody that he's has a strong relationship with calls
09:20and be like hey what do you think of this what do you think of that i think he tried
09:23to help that
09:23person no matter what team they're with i i know some people might take offense to that but
09:28you know people say all the time in this league who's your favorite team you know you know you're not
09:32rooting for teams you're rooting for people and i i think you know it's a people business any
09:38businesses and uh you align yourself with certain people and and uh you like to see them do well
09:44i think maybe i'm wrong adam before we let you go uh we don't follow jacksonville all that closely
09:50what is the uh scenario what's the setting new england walks into here uh on sunday how are how
09:55are the jags progressing here through two weeks upsetting i think because they had won i think nine
10:01straight regular season games lost sunday got outplayed when you get a good team off a loss
10:08to me that's always a tough week to get them because you know you're going to get
10:11an a game from them so to me i think it's a tough matchup i think jacksonville is going to
10:18play a great
10:18game on sunday and new england's going to have to be at its best and not turn over the football
10:22to win
10:22that game is anybody on the chargers mad at justin herbert and how his relationship is so public
10:28on social media and they're blaming him for the downfall of the team so far i i've never heard
10:33the two connect like i are people mad at travis kelsey and his public relationship i mean i mean
10:40you win everything he's winning he's winning that's the difference he wasn't winning last year were
10:46people mad at him then yeah but he already won they'd already been together when they won so it's
10:52just in this case yeah it's it just it's just i've heard a little bit of the talk and you

10:56that the succubus talk i've heard out there and i don't know i don't know if that's fair
11:01let's make it very simple if you win this league you do whatever you want when you lose everything
11:06comes under question and criticism that that's the way it works that is true that is absolutely true
