00:05Even as the probe into the death of the IIT Bombay student intensifies,
00:09it's India today that's accessed a crucial CCTV footage
00:13that in fact might bring about quite a different angle
00:16to the entire investigation that has been underway
00:20and the questions that are being raised within the investigation.
00:23This very video on your screens, viewers,
00:26shows Professor Dula as well as the student Sahil.
00:28The video shows 20-year-old BTEC student Sahil Wakode
00:32seated during his examination using a mobile phone.
00:38Now, Professor Suryanara Anadula,
00:41who was invagilating this very examination
00:43and has now been caught right in the midst of the entire controversy
00:47and allegations about caste discrimination,
00:50he is seen approaching Sahil,
00:52taking away his answer sheet
00:54and escorting him outside the examination hall.
00:57Sahil was found dead in his hostel room
01:00later that day, on September 18th itself,
01:03in what is now being suspected as a case of suicide.
01:07The Mumbai crime branch has taken over the investigation
01:10and is examining the CCTV footage
01:12from the examination hall, campus and hostel
01:14to reconstruct Sahil's movements on the day of his death.
01:19IIT Bombay, on its part,
01:20has constituted a 10-member high-level committee
01:22to examine the circumstances surrounding Sahil's death.
01:25The panel has been asked to submit their report within seven days
01:29and is expected to examine the sequence of events
01:31leading up to Sahil's death.
01:34Meanwhile, Professor Dula,
01:35against whom Sahil's family has levelled some serious allegations,
01:40has been sent on leave.
01:42Sahil's family has alleged caste-based harassment
01:45and has accused Dula and the other IIT Bombay officials
01:48of subjecting Sahil to immense pressure and discrimination.

02:01till yesterday one would say,
02:04focused a lot on Professor Dula,
02:06the caste harassment,
02:07the caste discrimination charges
02:09that have been levelled by the parents
02:11and all of what the students also have been protesting
02:14with regards to,
02:15this CCTV footage
02:16may actually bring about
02:19a very different aspect to this entire case.
02:22What are we given to understand from this?

02:31And definitely this CCTV is a very key evidence
02:34from the investigation point of view
02:37because in this CCTV,
02:39the whole incident has been captured
02:42and that can be elaborated from this CCTV
02:45because this is the very moment
02:46when Professor Dula caught Sahil
02:49when he was uploading his question paper
02:51on the chat GPT and seeking his mobile.
02:53And this is the moment
02:54after which Sahil went to his hostel
02:56and he found dead in his room.
02:58So definitely this is a very crucial piece of evidence
03:01from the investigation point of view
03:03for the crime branch of Mumbai Police.
03:06And we have to see
03:08that what will be the outcome of it.
03:11On the other hand,
03:13IIT Power has also initiated an inquiry
03:16and they have also founded a committee of 10 people
03:18and they have asked to submit
03:20their report within seven days.
03:22And this is the CCTV
03:24which the faculty will also consider as well.
03:27And we have to see
03:28that what the committee report will be outcome.
03:30Many of the who are opposing Professor Dula,
03:34they were asking the question
03:36that what exactly happened
03:37the chat GPT and the mobile thing
03:40has been created by the faculty
03:41and it is not true.
03:43And after that,
03:44the CCTV came in front
03:47and as we can see in the CCTV
03:49that Sahil was seeking in his mobile
03:51and he was caught by Professor Dula
03:54and he was taken out of the examination centre right away.
03:57So we have to see that
03:58how it will help in the investigation
