00:05There's been another big development in the IIT Bombay student death case.
00:10On camera now, the CCTV footage accessed by India Today shows that the professor who's been targeted,
00:17Professor Dula, confronts the young student who died by suicide, Sahil Wakode.
00:22And Sahil is seen handing over his phone to the professor.
00:26Remember, there were charges that Sahil had used the phone to access Chad GPT during an examination.
00:34Sahil is later asked to leave by Professor Dula.
00:37Sahil died by suicide within hours of having got caught, allegedly copying in that examination.
00:44So, amidst all the charges of caste discrimination which have been made against Professor Dula,
00:49at least the CCTV footage clearly shows him for now taking the phone away from Sahil,
00:54allegedly because Sahil was misusing it to engage in copying during the exam.

01:00Devesh, the police is, this is one piece of evidence that the police has.
01:04Is it conclusive according to the police?
01:07Or are they still going to be questioning all the major stakeholders,
01:10including the professor and the other students?
01:18Well, Radheep, this is one piece of evidence that has come to light that is under probe,
01:24that is being proved, that is being checked by police officials, by Mumbai Crime Branch officials
01:29as where the incident records that Sahil was allegedly looking into his mobile phone.
01:37He was allegedly using his mobile phone and then the video shows the professor confronting him
01:42and then leading him out.
01:44So, this is one piece of crucial evidence in the case which is being checked by the police.
01:51There are other evidences also.
01:52Also, as per the procedure, evidences will be recorded, witness statements will be recorded.
01:58So, there are four to five students who are present inside the examination hall.
02:03Also, few of them are friends of the deceased boy Sahil, whose statements have been recorded.
02:10Also, the statement of Professor Dula will be recorded.
02:14As per procedure, his statement will also be taken.
02:17Remember, there are allegations against Professor Dula of abitment to suicide
02:24and using caste-based slurs against Sahil allegedly.
02:29But that needs to be proved and that is why statements will be recorded.
02:34But the key evidence over here is the CCTV footage which points out to the incident
02:40where Sahil Vakode was allegedly trying to upload or he had allegedly uploaded
02:47the question paper on ChatGP and was writing down answers from his mobile phone to the answer sheet.
02:54when he is confronted by the professor in the examination hall and then taken out.
03:00So, this is a crucial piece of evidence.
03:02But there will be other evidence which will be recorded, which will be collected
03:06and it includes statements of students, statements of friends of Sahil,
03:12statements of authorities at the IIT,
03:15statements including that of Professor Surya Narayan Dula will be recorded.
03:23Okay, we will wait and see what happens from that statement that the Professor makes in that case.
