00:22The 79-year-old woman suffered injuries to her head, left hand and back,
00:27and was taken to University Malaya Medical Centre.
00:30She spent four days in the emergency ward and was discharged on September 21st.
00:35ACP Hu said the suspect, a retiree who contested as an independent candidate in GE15,
00:41did not admit to the act and did not cooperate on the motive when questioned.
00:46She was remanded for a day and the magistrate's court ordered the defence to bring the suspect for psychiatric treatment.
00:52Police are awaiting the full medical report from UMMC before referring the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor.
01:00The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
