00:12think you're going to look around at the end of the game and say, all right, good. Judkins ran
00:15the ball a lot against a really bad run defensive Carolina and Deshaun probably had a turnover and
00:20was okay, but not great. Yeah, I think that's probably likely what's going to happen.
00:23So I do think there's going to be some sort of an in-between of what we saw last week
00:32and the
00:32week before, but I think there was so much on Deshaun week one in terms of the fallout of his
00:41interview and how badly he played in that second preseason game and just the pressure of the first
00:46game and all that stuff. I do expect it to look closer to week two than week one because Todd
00:52Munkin has said, and this is where I'm going to try and again, I did not trust in Todd week
00:56one.
00:57A little trust was earned in week two with how Deshaun played. Munkin's whole preaching here,
01:03his whole philosophy is that, well, you know, he's going to get better with more reps. He's going to
01:08get more comfortable with more reps. So I think even if there's the emotional element to this game,
01:14I do expect, again, I don't think he has to be better than week two. That is an unfair bar.
01:19I would be weaponizing his, his top three performance as a Brown against him. Don't
01:25intend to do that. But do I think he should look close to that? Yes. I don't think this is
01:30a great
01:30Panthers defense. As a matter of fact, they did give up 59 points two weeks ago. And that was with
01:37Caleb Williams, not even hitting like a Loveland or a Dunze or really any one of the, the good Bears
01:42players as far as wide receivers are concerned. So they're not supposed to be a great run defense.
01:46I don't think they generate enough pressure. Um, you should be able to be, I don't know if keep
01:53pace. Cause I don't think that's the plan. I don't think you're trying to go one for one with
01:57Carolina. You might have to though. That's the side of that. You might have, I think you play
02:01keep away by running the ball and, and making a couple of big plays here and there. And I think
02:06you just basically slow them down and get them out of their rhythm. And then I think you have a
02:10chance
02:10to take the game. I do get scared about what happens if this thing turns into a shootout. Cause I
02:13don't know that they, I don't know that the Browns can hang and keep up with that. I just
02:17don't. I, it's funny. I thought a lot about this offense and actually I'll shout out Ken
02:21and Anthony in this, that a caller this morning that said, and the offense is now awesome.
02:25And I thought Ken did a great job of bouncing back and being like, awesome. What do you did
02:29the off? You scored 23 points last week. Like people are acting as if the, the Browns offense
02:35last week scored 59, like Carolina did in week one, or that Bryce Young had the highest yardage
02:41total in the first two weeks out of any quarterback in the NFL. They're acting like
02:43that's Deshaun Watson. Like 23 points is hardly 43 guys. Listen, this is by no means an exact
02:49stat, but just to, to paint the picture. I mean, Deshaun Watson has had a 80 or better
02:55quarterback rating in 11 of the 21 games he's been in Cleveland. Yeah. But under 90 is pretty
03:00trash as far as passer rating. It's not like, like 80, 80 is your benched. You're not an NFL
03:04quarterback at 80. I mean, 70 was where the Browns were last year. Uh, the Vikings were
03:10at 73% play in the sport last year. No, no, I know. But like the, there were a couple

03:14teams and I've mentioned them. I think Carolina was somewhere in the 80 range. Justin Fields
03:18career passer rating average top ahead is somewhere. I think it's like 81 or 82. Last I checked
03:24like, like you're basically, I mean, that's, that's not a, that's not the bar. Yeah, but it
03:28is functional. It's not great, but it is functional. 80s. I 80s bad. I like 80s bad.

03:44of ways as evidenced by Deshaun's week one being a 97 passer rating overall. It can get

03:55Watson looked competent or looked fine. He can do that. I know he can do that. Uh,

04:46start until the first year until game 12 and had about 20 games, almost 500 in between and then two
04:56years of injury. I don't understand how he can blame his misery of Brown's fandom on one player

05:16history. And so the end result of that is you're not only just paying $230 million in guaranteed
05:21money. You also gave up six draft picks to do so. That is three first rounders and three second
05:26rounders. So when Deshaun didn't work out, which was three years before it took you to find out that
05:30it wouldn't work out where he got injured, he was suspended for the first year and injured in year two

05:34injured in year three. Those are three years. Why are you blaming the player? Why aren't you blaming
05:39Haslam? Oh, I do. I blame, I blame them all. I blame, I blame them all the time. There is

05:43blame to go around. You don't just have to isolate in one place. This is not exclusively just Deshaun
05:47Watson. Haslam has taken a lot of blame on this. I've, I've, I've fired Andrew Barry like 12 times in

05:56here, I probably fired him 35 times. So like I, I don't, I can only fire him so many times.

06:03it's not exclusively towards Deshaun, but is, is, is Andrew Barry or Jimmy Haslam going to go out on
06:09the field on Sunday? But wouldn't you take as Browns fans, we would take a quarterback that goes
06:15almost 500 every year. Right. And that's what Deshaun Watson has done. And all you do is just
06:23blame your misery of Browns fandom for four years. I don't think it's just him, Dan player on one
06:30player. He's the quarterback and he's the one most responsible for why they've been bad for the
06:34previous four years. And they didn't trade for him to be a 500 team. As a matter of fact, they
06:38traded
06:38Baker Mayfield because the team was coming off a 500 season. I think it was eight, nine with Baker
06:44Mayfield. And that was seen as unsatisfactory. They were seen as like, Hey, this is our Superbowl
06:49window. The trade of Deshaun Watson, whether it's his attitude, whether it's any of the other things
06:55we can do, health performance is synonymous with the end of the Brown Superbowl window, Dan.
07:03Okay. I just, I just see it as just from JP as just total misery and hatred for one player

07:18them like, who, who does he think is the most responsible for it from a player perspective? Or

07:26the blame? Is that the idea? I would actually just, I would love to, I wish we could have
07:31gotten the, some of the callers that have called in today or this week, wish we could
07:36have gotten them a week ago and just give me your baseline take on Deshaun Watson. Cause
07:41I'm going to say it's not some of the things we've heard this week. I mean, is it surprising
07:45to you how much of a defense of Deshaun we've had over this week or no? I I'm floored by
07:49it. Yeah, I am. I can't believe it. I didn't see it.
07:51I thought, I listen, I think there's a, I feel like I'm in the reasonable middle ground,
07:56which is Deshaun had a very good game. You got the win that pauses the greater Deshaun
08:01conversation beyond it. And then Sunday becomes the great Sunday and Thursday become the great
08:07opportunity to real, to really steal some momentum. If you're Deshaun and steal some love, if
08:12you're Deshaun, the idea we're giving him that before he actually does Sunday and Thursdays.
08:18I just, I just didn't think I ever had to explain why Deshaun Watson should not be liked
08:21here. I thought that was pretty self-explanatory from even just football reasons why you wouldn't
08:25like Deshaun Watson. That's the part that's blowing my mind that it's like, I, I, and even
08:30when we spell it out and we give reasons and we basically recap what happened to the Browns
08:34over the previous half decade, the response is, well, I just don't, I don't get it. Like
08:39that, that's the response that we got right there. I just, I just, I don't, I don't get
08:42how you could not like that one person that has completely tanked the franchise for five
08:46years.
