03:54This episode, we've got a whole lot of things to touch on, so I'm going to try to get through

03:58them as quickly as I can, keep you guys in and out, not take up too much of your day.

04:02But let's be honest, yesterday there was a huge story that broke, basically, on the Talking

04:07Shop podcast with Carl Anderson and Luke Gallows, where they told everybody that the Young Bucks

04:14AEW contracts are coming due in 2027.

04:17Well, apparently, it's not just the Young Bucks, it is also Kenny Omega.

04:21This is the three pillars of AEW who created the company and were the original driving force

04:27behind the company, all coming due at the same time.

04:30It was said back in 2022-ish, or 2023, that they had signed new contracts with the company,

04:36that they were multi-year deals, but there was no real indication if they were two-year,

04:39three-year, five-year.

04:40We don't know.

04:41And now the word from Carl Anderson is that all three of their contracts are coming due

04:46in 2027, early 2027, for that matter.

04:50And now what happens after that?

04:51Now, he postulized that once they're done, they're done.

04:56You know, when they finish out these contracts, they're going to fade off into the sunset.

04:59I think he made a reference something about, like, we'll never see them again.

05:01I don't want to believe that.

05:03I really don't.

05:03I think these guys love what they've done throughout their careers.

05:06I think they love the industry, and in some way, shape, or form, I'm sure they want to

05:10give back, whether that's running a wrestling school, going to cons, video gaming conventions,

05:16things like that.

05:17I don't know, but I can't envision a scenario where they would walk away from the wrestling

05:20industry altogether.

05:23What I would like to see, and I know it's not the popular opinion, I would like to see

05:27them get one opportunity, even if it's a short run in WWE, just to see what they could

05:32do with the big machine behind them.

05:34You've seen how great they could perform in all the indie places they've been, Ring

05:38of Honor, stuff like that.

05:39You've seen them elevate their skill set early on, like, late original version of Ring of

05:45Honor, and then, again, in AEW.

05:48They've done so much, and it just seems like, and look, I get it.

05:52There's some people who, like, their badge of honor is, oh, I never had to go to WWE,

05:56and there's not a lot of people who say that.

05:58I don't, I think that's ludicrous.

06:00Who wouldn't want to at least be able to walk in the doors of the largest company in the

06:04world and the craft that you participate in?

06:07And I get it.

06:08You may not like everything about WWE if you're an AEW diehard, and I get that.

06:12I really, really do.

06:14But at the end of the day, if you never walk through their doors, you really don't know

06:20what it is the other side is like.

06:22Likewise, if you're a WWE lifer, people get so hung up on that, and I understand that.

06:27I really never thought the New Day would leave.

06:29I get it.

06:30But at the end of the day, isn't it, isn't there value to them seeing what it's like to

06:35do something elsewhere?

06:36Because I'll tell you, their skill set and the matches they've been having have been

06:39next level.

06:40No pun intended.

06:42So, you know, it's going to be interesting.

06:44I, if I were them, I would at least consider it, especially Kenny Omega.

06:47I think Kenny Omega, Seth Rollins is a match that many people have thought about for a long,

06:52long time.

06:52I'd love to see it.

06:53Kenny Omega, Roman Reigns, same thing.

06:55And I think we could get that done.

06:57And he doesn't have to be the best match machine in the world, Kenny Omega version.

07:01He could be whatever version WWE puts together to cater around his strengths and hide the

07:06weaknesses if he is, in fact, you know, at the stage of his career where the injuries

07:10are just so much that he doesn't have a long time to be in the ring.

07:12But I'd still like to see him make an appearance.

07:15From there, let's talk about Roman Reigns a little bit.

07:17And there's a Roman Reigns problem within WWE.

07:19And that is that they are not elevating superstars to be his opponents at the rate and quality

07:25that they need to for Roman Reigns to be able to step back.

07:29There was, there was a discussion, I apologize, I don't remember where it is.

07:31I know you can look it up on eWrestling News and Wrestling Inc.

07:35where Roman Reigns was basically saying, like, I, when people get in the ring with me, their,

07:42their stock is elevated just by virtue of being in the ring with him.

07:46However, the issue is, is he would like to be like fading his career and be on the tail end

07:51of his career, but there's nobody stepping up.

07:54And he made reference to the fact that he wasn't the champion for two years and nobody

07:59stepped up to take his spot.

08:00Well, part of the problem with that philosophy is, and I hate to be the guy to have to say

08:04this to Roman Reigns who I have a ton of respect for, but the way you elevate those people to

08:09be able to take your spot is you have to be willing to be out there with them to help

08:13pass the torch for them to have your spot.

08:15And when the only matches that Roman Reigns wants to have or seems to want to have is with

08:20super established stars to begin with, then it doesn't really leave much of an opportunity

08:24for new guys to get their opportunity to move up the card and gain that kind of respect

08:28or gain that main event or status.

08:30Now we've seen recently, and before I get to that, I should say he actually did reference

08:35the fact that he thinks that if he stays in good shape, he could have a whole nother run

08:40in the company.

08:40I don't know how many people are chomping at the bit to see that, but if they are, that's

08:44something he's left the door open to because he does want to wind down his career, but he

08:49could do that if he wanted to.

08:50But now, after the match that he had in Mexico City on Raw with Penta, a couple things have

08:57come out from that.

08:58One, Penta is now the odds-on favorite to win Money in the Bank.

09:03And that was not the case a few weeks ago.

09:05The conversation was around Seth Rollins coming back, possibly giving it to Trick Williams,

09:09and some other people were talked about.

09:12Now, after the reaction at that Raw, and let's be very clear, that Raw, not only was it a solid

09:18match, not only did it draw huge numbers for WWE, but the biggest shocker is that typically

09:25when you go head-to-head with Monday Night Football, especially this early in the season,

09:31wrestling tends to take a hit in the ratings, and that really wasn't the case.

09:35They did exceptionally well, and the crowd in Mexico City was fire.

09:40They were passionate.

09:41They were into this, and it has shifted many things.

09:44One, obviously, Money in the Bank.

09:46More importantly, the word coming out now is that people, the creative team in WWE, feel

09:53so confident in Penta coming out of that, and they saw the merchandise sales and all

09:58of that, that they want to see Penta and Roman Reigns again.

10:03So it sounds like sometime soon we're going to run it back, and it may have shifted dramatic

10:08plans in that championship picture.

10:10Will Roman lose the championship before Mania, only to gain it back later and then lose it

10:15to Oba?

10:15Is the Oba thing off?

10:17Is Seth Rollins factor into the mix somewhere in there?

10:20I don't know.

10:21Oh, I'd love to see Penta and Seth.

10:22That'd be great.

10:23You know, what are we going to do with all this?

10:25Because you want to strike while the iron's hot, but WWE's been very lackluster at doing

10:31that lately.

10:32A lot of times things look like they're perfect.

10:35The story writes itself, and they just don't do it.

10:37The Oba thing with Roman right after WrestleMania.

10:39Could have done it at SummerSlam.

10:41Chose not to.

10:42You know, these types of things can be problematic.

10:44Braun Breaker not being elevated to a world championship match at WrestleMania last year like

10:48he was originally thought to be.

10:49They just don't seem to pull the trigger, and it sounds like they really need to get

10:53on that because that's going to be the driving force behind new media rights deals, creating

10:59those stars, and solving the Roman Reigns issue that we talked about earlier, which is

11:03we need opponents that are at or above even his level, and we'll never get them if you

11:08don't start fostering that opportunity.

11:11Last thing tonight, Persephone, the AEW Women's TBS Champion, has an open challenge that is

11:19out there for AEW's all-out show this weekend.

11:23And so the question becomes, who could be the mystery opponent for Persephone?

11:27Now, if you haven't been watching Persephone's matches, if you're a WWE junkie, I understand.

11:32Check out her stuff.

11:33This young lady is incredibly talented.

11:35She could go with anybody, and it would not surprise me if somewhere in the near future

11:40she wins AEW World Championship gold.

11:42I really do believe that.

11:43However, the question right now is, who is going to be her opponent at all-out?

11:49And so you think about who the possibilities are, right?

11:52There's some people coming over from TNA.

11:54Mara Sade is coming over, and that's a possibility.

11:58I suspect that she's going to AEW anyways, so they could do that.

12:03But when you think about who else is out there and who has been rumored to want to go there,

12:08could it be Dakota Kai now wrestling as Charlie?

12:11I'd be okay with that as well.

12:13I think it'd be a great match.

12:14I have no problem with that.

12:15But the big one, and the interesting thing is Tekla actually put out a tweet earlier today

12:21kind of teasing the arrival of Kairi Sane coming to AEW.

12:27Could Kairi be the mystery opponent for Persephone, and could she win the AEW Women's TBS Championship

12:34at all-out?

12:36I think it's very much a possibility.

12:38I think Kairi Sane has done a very good job of strategically putting herself in a place

12:42to kind of punch her ticket to whatever she wants to do with AEW.

12:46I think she was prematurely released by WWE for no other reason.

12:50There was no payoff to the Asuka, Io, and Kairi triangle.

12:54I still wish we had some resolution there.

12:57So I don't know.

12:58I don't know who is going to be for sure.

13:00I think the one that makes the most sense, if you're going to take the title off of Persephone,

13:04which I don't know if I'm in favor of, would be to give it to Kairi Sane.

13:09If you're going to leave it on her, it could be anybody.

13:11I mean, it could be Dakota Kai.

13:13And if Dakota Kai showed up and then lost, I'd be okay with it.

13:17I'd understand.

13:17And I hate to see that because I'm a huge fan of hers.

13:19But I don't know.
