00:00Do you know those times in life where you're sick and you start reminiscing on the times
00:04you weren't sick, being appreciative for the times you weren't sick, and knowing that next
00:08time you feel better, you will be more appreciative?
00:12Well, how much of life is honestly like that?
00:15Because a lot of times in life, you know you have things to be grateful for, but there's
00:19still the thought in the back of your head that is, what if this is basically it?
00:24What if you always keep coming back to this pain?
00:27What if you always feel tired or something, like life just feels like something you have
00:31to get through and survive?
00:33You know, what if you never meet the one for you?
00:36What if you never become the version you want to be or achieve your dreams?
00:42And I think the thought of that can just make your whole life feel so much heavier because
00:45today suddenly isn't just a bad day, but it starts feeling like a preview of all the years
00:50to come.
00:51And I've had plenty of times in my life where I look at it and think, I really hope that
00:55this is not all there is to it.
00:57And it sucks if you struggle with depression or you're just in pain.
01:02Sometimes you finally feel better and you don't necessarily realize that you feel better.
01:06It just feels like life, but maybe something happens or maybe it's just life itself throws
01:11you back into that sadness and depression.
01:14You say, here you are again.
01:15And at some point you wonder if it's going to be like this forever.
01:19And I hate that feeling.
01:21And the problem is when you're in the same place for a long time, your brain starts feeling
01:27like it's proof of all that life will be.
01:30If you've been lonely for so long, it feels like you're just a lonely person.
01:34If you've hated your job or school for so long, you start thinking that it will always
01:39be like this, no matter what job you have.
01:41It will always be hard.
01:43And if you keep failing at something you try at, you start giving up because you feel like
01:47the failure is useless.
01:49But it's not the case.
01:50Not always.
01:51And actually, some of the most successful people in the world failed more than anyone.
01:56And the fact that something has been true for a long time doesn't mean that it's going
02:00to be true forever.
02:02Because so much in your life can change without you seeing it coming.
02:05And it's happened before and it'll happen again.
02:08Because your emotions are fleeting.
02:09Think about all the times five years ago, one year ago that you had things that you were
02:13so worried about and you aren't anymore.
02:16Because you still haven't met everyone that will enter your life.
02:20You might not have met your future lover.
02:21You might not have met all these people that'll make you feel better.
02:25And there's no reason to believe that that won't happen in the next year.
02:28It's just like how it has since the past years.
02:33But I'm not going to sit here and tell you that it's just magically going to get better.
02:37Because sometimes you have to make the change.
02:39Sometimes you have to find new people.
02:42You maybe even have to leave a job.
02:44You maybe even have to stop going somewhere or stop going back to someone.
02:48But I think the fear that this is as good as it gets is wrong.
02:54But honestly useful if you listen to it.
02:58If imagining your life staying the exact same scares you, then listen to it.
03:05Because you have to do something different.
03:07If you can't see and you're going down a road you've never been down before and the rain is coming
03:12down,
03:13you have to fix it and change something up and do the best you can.
03:19He's even the worst storm from out of rain.
03:20And if you're hurting, if you're struggling with something, you have to realize it won't be like that forever.
03:24You just have to keep pushing through it.
03:26Because you don't know exactly what's going to become of yourself.
03:28Nobody really does.
03:30But you have to stop feeling like what's going on in your life right now is going to be what's
03:34going on forever.
03:36I remember when I was in school, especially high school and middle school, I thought popularity was the most important
03:41thing ever.
03:42And guess what?
03:43It wasn't.
03:44It isn't.
03:45And if you're in school, I hope you realize that you don't talk to 90% of people that you
03:48see on an everyday basis.
03:50Because the people who are really cool, that did everything, nobody really cared even the littlest bit after school.
03:57And I think it was a lot of times, it seems like the quieter people, the nerds you might call
04:02them, that are the people that are most respected and successful now.
04:06So the point is, don't care what anybody thinks.
04:09Care about what you think.
04:11Care about doing what's best for you.
04:13Because if you do improve every day, it will get better.
04:16And it's easy to believe that this pain will be here forever.
04:18But I'm here to tell you that I promise you it won't.
04:21And it can be a roller coaster.
04:23You may fall back down to the same spot, but you will get back up again.
04:27And all that matters is that you get up one more time and you fall.
