00:00You probably already know what I mean, and I'm going to have to talk louder today because
00:04it's very windy, but maybe it takes some aggression to get the point across.
00:09Everybody does things that they know is bad for them.
00:13Maybe it's something that you've been trying to kick quit for years, or someone you keep
00:17going back to.
00:18Whatever it is, something in your life always leaves you feeling worse, even if it feels
00:24better in the moment.
00:26Whatever yours is, at some point, you have to break the cycle.
00:32Nobody is perfect.
00:33I am definitely not, and I do not think the point of life is to be someone who never makes
00:38a mistake.
00:39Of course, it's okay to make mistakes.
00:41The most successful people in the world make mistakes, and if you never make mistakes,
00:45then that means you never try new things.
00:46The difference is going back to them.
00:49You are going to know better and make the wrong choice sometimes, and that is where it's wrong.
00:54But you can always change.
00:56You are not stuck by your decisions.
00:58Whoever you were yesterday, whatever you do or keep falling back into, is not who you
01:02are.
01:03Just because you've been doing something, if you've been addicted or an alcoholic or anything
01:07for the last years, it doesn't mean that's who you have to be.
01:11And the problem is when you keep repeating something over and over, you might not even see it as a
01:16habit, and you just start seeing it as who you are.
01:20You might think who you are is someone with a bad temper, someone who isn't disciplined,
01:26someone who doesn't do the right thing always, but you don't have to be a different person.
01:33You just have to do better one step at a time.
01:37Whatever your bad habit is, it's not your identity.
01:43There's something that you've done so long enough that it starts to feel normal.
01:47And I heard a quote that's like, it takes five times, it's four of a habit and a thousand
01:51to break it.
01:51And it might be true.
01:52It's going to be harder to break it than it was to make it.
01:55But if you keep going back to something that is comfortable or feels familiar, then you'll
02:00start losing yourself every single time a little bit more.
02:04And just because it's hot, it doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
02:10Because at the end of the day, you wake up with the ability to become better, to have
02:14a better day.
02:16No matter how bad of a day it is, if it's raining, if it's freezing cold, if you're somewhere
02:20you've never been before, it can always become better.
02:24And just because you're struggling, just because you're having a harder time, doesn't mean you
02:29should let it take over and give up going into it.
02:35You have to choose differently.
02:38Because you're choosing the same thing so it feels normal.
02:41But if you choose the harder thing and the weirder thing, it becomes normal too.
02:46Have you ever gotten into a habit of working out or eating healthy, anything that's better?
02:51And first times are a little annoying, but the more and more you do it, the more you get
02:54used to it and accustomed to it, and it becomes easier?
02:58Because it does.
02:59You spend months or years teaching yourself, this is what you're going to do now.
03:03Because you can't erase all of everything within a couple days.
03:08You just have to stop feeding the habit.
03:13And if you make a mistake, you get back in, that's fine, bro.
03:17People judge themselves too quickly off of one mistake.
03:21Because you can go a dozen days doing something, fall right back into it, and then you say,
03:26well, it's just who I am.
03:27No, those 10 days prove that you can live differently.
03:30They prove that you can have a beautiful path and not running into anything.
03:34But the real danger is when you run into danger and you give up and stop there.
03:39No.
03:40Turn around and go back on the path that you know is good.
03:45Simply don't do it.
03:46Yeah, sure.
03:47It's easier said than done.
03:49But every day that you don't do it is a day that you are successful.
03:52That is a day of you becoming the best version of yourself.
03:54One day is all I ask.
03:56One day.
03:57And you wake up tomorrow and do it again.
03:59Because it's like anything in life.
04:00You don't just make something.
04:02I didn't gain followers from nothing.
04:04It was one day at a time.
04:06I posted over a thousand videos before I reached 3,000 followers.
04:11One day at a time.
04:12Everything in life.
04:13One day at a time.
04:16Because maybe your addiction is real.
04:18It is.
04:19Mental health struggles can be real.
04:23But helping yourself is real.
04:27Sometimes you can reach out to someone else.
04:29You can reach out to support.
04:30Because asking for help still counts as breaking the cycle.
04:34It still counts as you trying.
04:36And that alone is still movement.
04:39So the important part is that you stop just saying this is who I am before you can give yourself
04:44a reason to try.
04:45This is not who you are.
04:46You are still transforming into somebody better every day.
04:51And years from now you are going to look back at yourself and realize you are different.
04:54Because you changed.
04:57All of your choices will change you.
04:59So you might as well decide who that person becomes.
05:03And that's by deciding every better option every time.
05:07Even when it is harder.
05:08Nobody ever had a good life by making only easy choices.
05:11No.
05:12It's hard.
05:13It's hard to break an addiction.
05:14It's hard to break a bad habit.
05:15But you have to.
05:17You have to.
05:18Some days it will be so hard.
05:20And those are the days you really have to.
05:24Because one day you'll look back when you thought this is who you were.
05:26And you'll realize it wasn't.
05:28It's something you barely do anymore.
05:30And that's one of the best parts about being alive.
05:33Is that you are never stuck somewhere permanently.
05:37You can always look back and realize that you're different now.
05:41And that you're a kinder person and treat people differently now.
05:44If I was the same person I was when I was a teenager.
05:46When I was more mean to everyone.
05:48And egotistical.
05:49And talked back.
05:49And didn't listen.
05:50Or take advice.
05:51I would not be the person I am.
05:52I would not be kind.
05:53No.
05:53Every single day I choose to be kinder.
05:56I choose to be right.
05:57Do what's good.
05:58And look.
05:58I'm not perfect.
05:59I still make mistakes.
06:00But I choose what's right more often than not.
06:02And that is most important.
06:04Choose to be kind.
06:05And choose to break this habit.
06:08Because this habit only defines the part of you that it took from.
06:12Do not let it take from any more of your life.
