00:33As a high school student in Boca Raton, Florida, he was fascinated by computers and started a business selling software
00:40to schools from his bedroom.
00:42Griffin credits his parents and grandparents for shaping his work ethic and giving him opportunities.
00:47His mother, Genevieve, grew up on a farm without running water.
00:50Later built a successful business and saved enough money to help pay for Griffin's education at Harvard.
00:57During his time at the university, he began trading from his dorm room.

01:05Griffin has donated more than $5.7 billion to education, medical research, and other causes.

01:18Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O'Connor is expected to release a budget today that calls for deep cuts.
01:23The mayor has predicted a $250 million budget gap over the next five years.
01:28So the administration is scheduled to send city council with a preliminary budget today, reportedly without a tax increase or
01:36basic service cuts.
01:38Options for reducing spending include freezing payments to the Stop the Violence Fund and affordable housing projects.
01:44Sources tell KDKA TV the administration is also looking at lowering its pension contributions.
01:50A strike at Duquesne Light could start at midnight when the contract for unionized electrical workers ends.
01:56A statement from IBEW Local 29 says the union wants a contract that addresses safety and operational concerns and improved
02:04retirement benefits, including retiree health care.
02:08Duquesne Light said last night it will continue to bargain on a new contract, but in the event of a
02:13strike, the utility has notified the union it would be bringing in temporary non-union workers from out of state.
02:19State police are investigating a shooting last night in Aliquippa, Beaver County.
02:23It happened around 5.15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wade Street.
02:28Aliquippa police said 20 shots were fired by more than one person.
02:31A man with a gunshot wound was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, condition unknown.
02:36And in a statement on Facebook, Mayor Dwan Walker said violence will not be tolerated in the city of Aliquippa.
