00:00New details about Wednesday's attack on an airline flight to Israel.
00:04Authorities say a plumber helped save the plane from crashing.
00:07Here's ABC's Sophie Flay.
00:09The captain, 39-year-old Smit Machar of India, managed to open the cockpit door and scream for help.
00:15That's when three Israeli passengers, including Yaniv Hayoun, rushed in.
00:19Hayoun, who is a plumber, says he was able to take control of the plane thanks to what he learned
00:24from a TV show.
00:27I pulled him out.
00:28After I pulled him out, we took control of the plane.
00:31I pulled up the yoke.
00:32I saw two unmanned yokes with no pilots, and I've watched this program flight investigation, and I knew I had
00:37to pull.
00:38Hayoun says he pulled up the nose, and two other Fly Dubai pilots who happened to be on the plane
00:43as passengers took over.

00:51Around 1,000 IBEW Local 29 workers started striking at midnight after talks with Duquesne Light failed to produce a
00:58new agreement.

01:06In a statement, Duquesne Light said it was disappointed no agreement was reached, despite presenting what the utility believes is
01:12an industry-leading offer.
01:15Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O'Connor's preliminary budget calls for no tax hikes or layoffs, but he admits it's not pretty.
01:22NewsRadio KDKA's David Valorado has more.
01:25The mayor says his 2027 budget proposal and five-year spending plan is lean and requires tapping into the reserves
01:30to avoid tax hikes and massive service cuts.
01:32But that rainy day fund will be depleted in the process.
01:36It's there, and we see it, and we put that projection out.
01:39Again, we're not going to give you a gimmick that says in five years there's $50 million when it's not
01:44there.
01:45Prompting City Comptroller Rachel Heisler to say the mayor and council need to find a timeline to restore the fund
01:50in a clearly defined timeline.
01:52Council's Budget Committee Chair Erica Strasburger likes its emphasis on efforts to try and grow the tax base,
01:57but notes the budget process is a give-and-take, and council will carefully review what's been submitted.
