00:04The first epistle of St. John chapter 1 verses 8 and 9
00:12If we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
00:19But if we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
00:26from all unrighteousness.
00:31Dearly beloved brethren, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness.
00:42But that we should not disassemble nor clave them before the face of almighty God our heavenly Father.
00:51But confess them with a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of
01:02the same by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:07And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God, yet ought we chiefly so to
01:15do when we assemble and meet together to render thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:23To set forth his most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are
01:32requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul.
01:39Wherefore I pray and beseech you, as many as are here present, to accompany me with a pure heart and
01:47humble voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, saying after me.
01:55Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep.
02:04We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:11We have offended against thy holy laws.
02:16We have left undone those things which we ought to have done.
02:21And we have done those things we ought not to have done.
02:25And there is no health in us.
02:29But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders.
02:35Spare thou them, O God, who confess their faults.
02:39Restore thou those who are penitent,
02:43according to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
02:50And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life.
02:59To the glory of thy holy name.
03:03Amen.
03:06Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who desireth not the death of a sinner,
03:13but rather that he turn from his wickedness and live,
03:18and has given power and commandment to his ministers to declare and pronounce to his people,
03:24being penitent, the absolution and remission of their sins.
03:32He pardoneth and absolve it all who truly repent and unfainly believe his holy gospel.
03:43Wherefore, let us beseech him to grant us true repentance and his holy spirit,
03:49that those things may please him which we do at this present,
03:54and that the rest of our life hereafter may be pure and holy,
03:58so that at the last we may come to his eternal joy.
04:03Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
04:08Amen.
04:12Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
04:16Thy kingdom come.
04:18Thy will be done as it is in heaven.
04:22Give us this day our daily bread,
04:25and forgive us our trespasses,
04:27as we forgive them that trespass against us.
04:32And lead us not into temptation,
04:34but deliver us from evil,
04:36for thine is the kingdom,
04:38the power and the glory,
04:40for ever and ever.
04:42Amen.
04:46O Lord, open our lips,
04:49and our mouth shall show forth thy praise.
04:55O God, make speed to save us.
04:59O Lord, make haste to help us.
05:05Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,
05:09as it was in the beginning,
05:12is now, and ever shall be,
05:14world without end.
05:17Amen.
05:20Praise ye the Lord.
05:23The Lord's name be praised.
05:28O come, let us sing unto the Lord,
05:31and let us heartily rejoice
05:32in the strength of our salvation.
05:36Let us come before his presence
05:38with thanksgiving,
05:40and show ourselves glad in him with psalms.
05:44For the Lord is a great God,
05:46and a great King above all gods.
05:50In his hand are all the corners of the earth,
05:53and the strength of the hills is his also.
05:57The sea is his, and he made it,
05:59and his hands prepared the dry land.
06:03O come, let us worship and hold home,
06:06and kneel before the Lord, our Maker.
06:10For he is the Lord, our God,
06:13and we are the people of his pasture,
06:15and the sheep of his hand.
06:19Today, if you will hear his voice,
06:22harden not your hearts,
06:24as in the provocation,
06:25and as in the day of temptation
06:28in the wilderness.
06:30When our fathers tempted us,
06:33proved us, and saw our works,
06:37forty years long,
06:38I was grieved with this generation,
06:40and said,
06:41it is a people that do err in their hearts,
06:44and they have not known my ways.
06:48Unto whom I swore in my wrath,
06:50that they should not enter into my rest.
06:55Glory be to the Father,
06:57and to the Son,
06:58and to the Holy Ghost.
06:59As it was in the beginning,
07:01is now, and ever shall be,
07:04world without end.
07:06Amen.
07:14Psalm 56
07:17Be merciful unto me, O God,
07:20for a man goeth the boat to devour me.
07:23He is daily fighting and troubling me.
07:27Mine enemies are daily in hand
07:29to swallow me up,
07:30for they be many that fight against me,
07:34O Thou Most Highest.
07:36Nevertheless, though I am sometime afraid,
07:39yet I put my trust in Thee.
07:42I will praise God because of His word.
07:45I have put my trust in God,
07:47and will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
07:51They daily mistake my words.
07:54All that they imagine is to do me evil.
07:58They hold all together,
08:00and keep themselves close,
08:02and mark my steps,
08:04when they lay wait for my soul.
08:07Shall they escape for their wickedness?
08:10Thou, O God,
08:11in Thy displeasure,
08:13shall cast them then.
08:15Thou tellest my flittings,
08:17put my tears into Thy bottle.
08:20Are not these things noted in Thy book?
08:23Whensoe'er I call upon Thee,
08:25then shall mine enemies be put to flight.
08:29This I know,
08:30for God is on my side.
08:33In God's word I will rejoice.
08:36In the Lord's word I will comfort me.
08:39Yea,
08:40in God have I put my trust.
08:42I will not be afraid
08:44what man can do to me.
08:47Unto Thee, O God,
08:48I will pay my bills.
08:50Unto Thee will I give thanks,
08:53for Thou hast delivered my soul from death,
08:55and my feet from form,
08:57that I may walk before God
09:00in the light of the living.
09:03Be merciful unto me,
09:05O God,
09:06be merciful unto me,
09:08for my soul trusteth in Thee,
09:11and under the shadow of Thy wings
09:13shall be my refuge,
09:15until this tyranny be overpast.
09:19I will call unto the Most High,
09:22even unto the Lord
09:23that shall perform the cause
09:25which I have in hand.
09:27He shall send from heaven,
09:28and save me from the reproof of him
09:31that would eat me up.
09:33God shall send forth His mercy and truth.
09:36My soul is among lions,
09:39and I lie even among the children of men
09:42that are set on fire,
09:44whose teeth are spears and arrows,
09:46and their tongue a sharp sword.
09:49Set up Thyself, O God,
09:51above the heavens,
09:52and Thy glory above all the earth.
09:56They have laid a net for my feet,
09:58and pressed down my soul.
10:00They have digged a pig before me,
10:03and are fallen into the midst of it themselves.
10:06My heart is fixed, O God,
10:08my heart is fixed.
10:10I will sing and give praise.
10:13Awake up, my glory,
10:15awake, lute and harp.
10:16I will myself awake right early.
10:21I will give thanks unto Thee,
10:23O Lord, among the people.
10:24I will sing unto Thee among the nations.
10:27For the greatness of Thy mercy
10:29reacheth unto the heavens,
10:31and Thy truth unto the clouds.
10:35Set up Thyself, O God,
10:37above the heavens,
10:38and Thy glory above all the earth.
10:41Glory be to the Father,
10:43and to the Son,
10:44and to the Holy Ghost,
10:46as it was in the beginning,
10:47is now, and ever shall be,
10:49world without end.
10:51Amen.
10:54Psalm 58
10:57Are your minds set upon righteousness,
11:00O ye congregation,
11:02and do ye judge the thing that is right to you,
11:05sons of men?
11:07Yea, ye imagine mischief in your hearts upon the earth,
11:10and your hands deal with thy wickedness.
11:13The ungodly are thrown,
11:15even from their mother's womb.
11:17As soon as they are born,
11:19they go astray and speak lies.
11:22They are as venomous as the poison of a serpent,
11:26even like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ears,
11:30which refuseth to hear the voice of the charmer.
11:33Charm he never so wisely.
11:36Break their teeth, O God,
11:38in their mouths,
11:39smite the jawbones of the lions, O Lord.
11:43Let them fall away like water that runs the face,
11:46and when they shoot their arrows,
11:48let them be rooted out.
11:50Let them consume away like a snail,
11:53and be like the untimely fruit of a woman.
11:56Let them not ever see the sun.
11:59For ever your pots be made hot with thorns,
12:04so that indignation vex him,
12:06even as a thing that is raw.
12:10The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance.
12:14He shall watch his footsteps in the blood of the ungodly.
12:18So that a man shall say,
12:21Verily, there is reward for the righteous.
12:24Doubtless, there is a God that judges the earth.
12:29Glory be to the Father,
12:31and to the Son,
12:32and to the Holy Ghost,
12:34as it was in the beginning,
12:35is now,
12:36and ever shall be,
12:38world without end.
12:40Amen.
12:47He who dashes in pieces has come up against you.
12:53Keep the fortress, watch the way,
12:55strengthen your waste,
12:57fortify your power mightily.
13:00For Yahweh restores the excellency of Jacob,
13:04as the excellency of Israel.
13:07For the destroyers have destroyed them,
13:09and ruined their vine branches.
13:12The shield of his mighty men is made red.
13:15The valiant men are in scarlet.
13:18The chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation,
13:23and the pine spears are brandished.
13:26The chariots rage in the streets.
13:29They rush back and forth in the wide ways.
13:33Their appearance is like torches.
13:35They run like lightning.
13:38He summons his picked troops.
13:40They stumble on their way.
13:42They dash to its wall,
13:43and the protective shield is put in place.
13:47The gates of the rivers are opened,
13:49and the palace is dissolved.
13:53It is decreed she is uncovered.
13:55She is carried away.
13:57Her servants moan as the voice of doves,
14:00beating on their breaths.
14:03But Nineveh has been from old like a pool of water,
14:07and yet they flee away.
14:09Stop, stop, they cry,
14:11but no one looks back.
14:13Take the plunder of silver,
14:15take the plunder of gold,
14:16for there is no end to the store.
14:19The glory of all goodly furniture.
14:22She is empty, void, and waste.
14:25The heart melts,
14:27the knees knock together,
14:29their bodies and faces have grown pale.
14:32Where is the den of lions,
14:35and the feeding place of the young lions,
14:37where lion and lioness walked,
14:40the lion's cubs,
14:41and no one made them afraid?
14:45The lion tore in pieces enough for his cubs,
14:48and strangled for his lioness,
14:51and filled his caves with the kill,
14:54and his dens with prey.
14:57Behold, I am against you,
14:59says Yahweh, Lord of armies,
15:01and I will burn her chariots in the smoke,
15:04and the sword will devour your young lions.
15:09I will cut off your prey from the earth,
15:11and the voice of your messengers
15:13will no longer be heard.
15:16This is the word of the Lord.
15:19Thanks be to God.
15:25We praise thee, O God.
15:28We acknowledge thee to be the Lord.
15:31All the earth does worship thee,
15:33the Father everlasting.
15:36To thee all angels cry aloud,
15:39the heavens and all the powers therein.
15:42To thee, Terebin and Seraphim,
15:46continually do cry,
15:48Holy, holy, holy,
15:50Lord God of Sabael,
15:53heaven and earth are full
15:55of the majesty of thy glory.
15:59The glorious company of the apostles,
16:02praise thee.
16:03The goodly fellowship of the prophets,
16:06praise thee.
16:08The noble army of martyrs,
16:10praise thee.
16:12The Holy Church throughout all the world
16:14does acknowledge thee.
16:16The Father of an infinite majesty,
16:20thine honourable true and only Son.
16:24Also the Holy Ghost,
16:26the Comforter,
16:27Thou art the King of glory,
16:29O Christ.
16:31Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father.
16:35When thou tookest upon thee to deliver man,
16:39thou didst not abel the virgin's womb.
16:43When thou hast overcome the sharpness of death,
16:46thou didst open the kingdom of heaven
16:48to all believers.
16:52Thou sittest at the right hand of God
16:54in the glory of the Father.
16:57We believe that thou shalt come
16:59to be our judge.
17:02We therefore pray thee,
17:04help thy servants,
17:05whom thou hast redeemed with thy precious blood.
17:09Make them to be numbered with thy sights
17:11in glory everlasting.
17:15O Lord save thy people and bless thine heritage.
17:20Govern them and lift them up for ever.
17:24Day by day we magnify thee,
17:26and we worship thy name.
17:29And we worship thy name,
17:30ever world without end.
17:32O Lord save the Lord to keep us this day without sin.
17:37Lord have mercy upon us.
17:39Have mercy upon us.
17:42Lord let thy mercy lighten upon us,
17:45as our trust is in thee.
17:48O Lord in thee have I trusted.
17:51Let me never be confounded.
17:54Glory be to the Father,
17:56and to the Son,
17:57and to the Holy Spirit,
17:58as it was in the beginning,
18:01is now and ever shall be,
18:03world without end.
18:05Amen.
18:11The epistle to the Colossians,
18:13chapter 1.
18:16From Paul,
18:17the apostle of Christ Jesus,
18:19by the will of God,
18:20and Timothy, our brother,
18:22to the saints,
18:23the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ,
18:27at Colossae.
18:28Grace and peace to you,
18:30from God our Father.
18:33We always give thanks to God,
18:35the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
18:37when we pray for you.
18:39For we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus,
18:42and the love that you have for all the saints.
18:45Your faith and love have arisen
18:47from the hope laid up for you in heaven,
18:50which you have heard about
18:51in the message of truth,
18:53the gospel that has come to you.
18:56Just as in the entire world,
18:59this gospel is bearing fruit
19:00and growing.
19:02So it has also been bearing fruit
19:04and growing among you
19:07from the first day you heard it
19:09and understood the grace of God in truth.
19:13You learned the gospel from Epaphras,
19:16our dear fellow slave,
19:17the faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,
19:21who also told us of your love in the Spirit.
19:25For this reason,
19:27we, from the day we had heard word of it,
19:30keep on in prayer for you,
19:32that you may be full of the knowledge of his purpose,
19:36with all wisdom and experience of the Spirit,
19:41living uprightly in the approval of the Lord,
19:45giving fruit in every good work,
19:48and increasing in the knowledge of God,
19:52full of strength in the measure of the great power of his glory,
19:56so that you may undergo all troubles with joy,
20:00giving praise to the Father
20:02who has given us a part in the heritage of the saints in light,
20:08who has made us free from the power of evil,
20:11and given us a place in the kingdom of the Son of his love,
20:16in whom we have our salvation,
20:19the forgiveness of sins,
20:21who is the image of the unseen God
20:23coming into existence before all living things.
20:28For by him all things were made,
20:31in heaven and on earth,
20:32things seen and things unseen,
20:35authorities,
20:37lords,
20:37rulers and powers.
20:39All things were made by him and for him.
20:43He is before all beings,
20:45and in him all things have been.
20:50He is the image of the invisible God,
20:53the firstborn over all creation.
20:56For in all things,
20:59in heaven and on earth,
21:01were created by him.
21:04Thrones,
21:05dominions,
21:07principalities or powers,
21:09all things were created through him and for him.
21:13He himself is before all things,
21:15and all things are held together in him.
21:19He is the head of the body,
21:20the church,
21:21as well as the beginning,
21:23the firstborn from among the dead,
21:26so that he himself may become first in all things.
21:31For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the sun,
21:35and through him to reconcile all things to himself,
21:39by making peace through the blood of his cross,
21:43through him were the things on earth or things in heaven.
21:48This is the word of the Lord.
21:51Thanks be to God.
22:01Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
22:04for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
22:08and hath raised up a mighty salvation for us
22:11in the house of his servant David.
22:14As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets,
22:17which have since been since the world began,
22:21that we should be saved from our enemies,
22:24and from the hand of all that hate us,
22:27to perform the mercy promised to our forefathers,
22:32and to remember his holy covenant,
22:35to perform the oath which he swore to our forefather Abraham,
22:39that he would give us,
22:41that would be delivered out of the hand of our enemies,
22:44might serve him without fear,
22:48in holiness and righteousness before him
22:50all the days of our life.
22:54And thou, child,
22:56shall be called the prophet of the highest,
22:58for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord
23:01to prepare his ways,
23:03to give knowledge of salvation to his people
23:06for the remission of their sins,
23:09through the tender mercy of our God,
23:11whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
23:17to give light to them that sit in darkness
23:20and in the shadow of death,
23:22and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
23:27Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
23:29and to the Holy Ghost,
23:31as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
23:35world without end.
23:37Amen.
23:44I believe in God the Father Almighty,
23:48maker of heaven and earth,
23:51and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
23:54who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
23:57born of the Virgin Mary,
23:59suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
24:01who crucified dead and buried.
24:03He descended into hell,
24:06the third day he rose again from the dead.
24:10He ascended into heaven,
24:12and seated on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
24:17From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
24:22I believe in the Holy Ghost,
24:24the Holy Catholic Church,
24:26the communion of saints,
24:28the forgiveness of sins,
24:30the resurrection of the body,
24:32and the life everlasting.
24:35Amen.
24:39The Lord be with you and with thy spirit.
24:45Let us pray.
24:48Lord, have mercy upon us.
24:51Christ, have mercy upon us.
24:54Lord, have mercy upon us.
25:00Our Father, which art in heaven,
25:03hallowed be thy name.
25:05Thy kingdom come.
25:07Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
25:11Give us this day our daily bread,
25:14and forgive us our trespasses,
25:17as we forgive those who trespass against us.
25:21And lead us not into temptation,
25:24but deliver us from evil.
25:26Amen.
25:30O Lord, show thy mercy upon us,
25:33and grant us thy salvation.
25:37O Lord, save the King,
25:40and mercifully hear us when we call upon thee.
25:45Endue thy ministers with righteousness,
25:49and make thy chosen people joyful.
25:54O Lord, save thy people,
25:57and bless thine inheritance.
26:02Give peace in our time, O Lord,
26:05because there is none other that fighteth for us,
26:08but only thou, O God.
26:12O God, make clean our hearts within us,
26:17and take not thy Holy Spirit from us.
26:31O God, for as much as without thee
26:34we are not able to please thee,
26:37mercifully grant that thy Holy Spirit
26:39may in all things direct and rule our hearts.
26:43through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
26:46Amen.
26:52O God, who art the author of peace and lover of concord,
26:57in the knowledge of whom standeth thy eternal life,
27:01whose service is perfect freedom,
27:03defend us, thy humble servants,
