00:00I want to quickly right now, cut across to our guests this evening, joining me, Sanjay Jha, political analyst, Tavleen
00:06Singh, senior columnist, author, Vikram Singh, former DGP, Rajat Sethi, political analyst, Radhika Khera, national spokesperson, BJP, and Dr. Pooja
00:15Tripathi, national spokesperson, Congress Party.
00:17I want to begin with Ms. Tavleen Singh. Ms. Singh, you've been watching very closely the developments of the last
00:24one week, from the clarion call made by the opposition, then to the CJP, the kind of fortification of the
00:30national capital, where over 33 police personnel on ground, you have multiple trains that have been cancelled or diverted, which
00:40are coming into the national capital, unprecedented by all means.
00:43Do you think this will be enough to stem the protest, or do you see this just the beginning where
00:50these protesters will come back?
00:53I think you've just added fuel into their tank. I've never seen Delhi like this. Not even during the emergency
01:02have I seen this kind of fortification. And I don't understand why.
01:07The Supreme Court itself said you don't need, I don't know, a sledgehammer to kill a fly, right? Now, do
01:15you know the amount of people that have been inconvenienced by closing down metro stations and closing down trains?
01:22What if somebody has a sick mother or somebody that they have to take to hospital? It's something that I
01:28don't even understand.
01:29Who is advising the prime minister to do all this? And you're doing this to stop children? These are kids,
01:38for God's sake. There was not this much fortification when the India group did their protest.
01:45Today, I mean, if you're in Delhi, you've probably seen it yourself. And going into the Gurdwara to arrest people.
01:53And I just want to make one more point, because I have to leave.
01:57As I said to Neha, the thing that has really troubled me is when I listen to, what's his name,
02:10Sambit Patra and Ravi Shankar Prasad, I get a feeling that they don't know what's happening.
02:16They're talking about anarchists. They're talking about anarchy. And, you know, there's always this kind of weird expansion into, you
02:26know, anarchy and all this sort of business.
02:28They are children who are protesting and have been protesting for valid reasons.
02:36The chief election commissioner has not covered himself with glory. Voting is something that they believe is being taken away
02:44from them.
02:45They have a right to come and say what they want to. So, you know, to me, as far as
02:50I'm concerned, whoever's advising the prime minister is a, you know, is a kind of fifth columnist of the cockroach
02:57junta party.
03:02Well, you know, do you have time for one quick question, Mr. Veen, before you go? Because if you do,
03:07there seems to be now an attempt at least to pitch one side of India vis-a-vis the other.
03:12Because every press conference that we see coming in from the BJP, you know, representing the government is that there
03:19is this, these are these anarchists who are fueled by the opposition parties.
03:25And then those are people who stand by democracy. And you are inconveniencing these people.
03:32You're inconveniencing the citizens of Delhi. You're inconveniencing everyone who lives in the city at the moment.
03:40Why are you doing this? I was in Bombay for the protests that took place on Gandhi Jainti.
03:46The cockroaches went off to Shivaji Park. They were not allowed in the park.
03:50So they sat in the road and there was a big crowd and they, you know, expressed their, they sang
03:55some songs and they expressed their views.
03:57And that was the end of it. What, who is advising that the, you know, the government of Delhi, actually
04:05the whole minister is in charge of security here.
04:08There are BSF people on the borders of Delhi.
04:11The, this is taxpayers' money being wasted on stopping a bunch of students.
04:19And by doing this, you've now elevated their position higher than the Congress party.
04:28That's my view.
04:30Okay.
04:30Miss Singh, thank you. Thank you for taking the time out.
04:34Okay, bye.
04:35I know you need to leave. Thank you.
04:38Thank you, Miss Singh. Thank you for taking the time out.
