Speaking during an INDIA bloc march towards the Supreme Court, Congress leader Gurdeep Singh Sappal confirmed that the petition copy had already reached the apex court as part of a symbolic protest. Rejecting suggestions that the agitation was concluding, Sappal stated, "Our struggle, our protest, our resistance continues. It may take days, it may take weeks or months, but this will continue till we get the democracy back on rails." Dismissing the BJP's counterarguments regarding election outcomes, he claimed the public sentiment on the ground in Maharashtra and Haryana diverged from EVM results. He added that the opposition's claims are no longer mere allegations, citing files from the Election Commission.

00:00But now they are back on that bus. Tell me what's happening.
00:04Yes, that's right. Let me bring in Gurdeep Sappal now, Congress leader who has been marching along with the entire
00:11leadership of the India bloc.
00:13This appears to be a point where you will not be able to cross this barricade.
00:17I have seen you march all the way to Cunard Place and now return, Mr. Sappal.
00:22My question would be, has the petition in the Supreme Court been filed already?
00:27Yes, the petition copy has already reached the Supreme Court.
00:30We are doing this symbolic march to the Supreme Court, raising the voice of millions and millions of people who
00:36believe in democracy and who are not willing to let this democracy slip away.
00:40So the sense is that the petition has already been filed and now what happens to this protest?
00:45Does it end here and will it be revived perhaps again tomorrow or day after?
00:50No, this is not the end of the protest.
00:52You see, this is not a petitioner Congress that you petition and you sit at home.
00:56Our struggle, our protest, our resistance continues.
01:00It may take days, it may take weeks or months, but this will continue till we get the democracy back
01:05on rails.
01:06The BJP says that the question of democracy only arises when the Congress loses elections,
01:13like you lost in Assam or in India bloc losing in Bengal.
01:18When you win elections, say you won in Kerala or you won in Karnataka, this issue doesn't come up.
01:23Well, the country has moved beyond these logics of BJP.
01:28When people in Maharashtra see that the sentiment on the ground does not match the sentiment of the EVMs.
01:35When the sentiment in Haryana on roads does not match the result.
01:39Various places, we have just seen the by-elections in Bengal, where the candidates were forced to take back nominations,
01:45were jailed.
01:46So this is not a singular thing.
01:48BJP has been trying to get people on its side by the same argument,
01:52fully well ignoring that this time whatever we have been alleging has been found, proven in the files of the
01:59Election Commission itself.
02:00So these are no more allegations.
02:02These are facts which are before the nation.
02:04All right, Mrs. Appal.
02:05Really appreciate your time.
