00:00The Miami Dolphins, they dropped to 0-5 on the season.
00:03Now, three 0-4 teams in the league.
00:07The Dolphins, the Titans, and the Chargers.
00:13At least I have that.
00:14Misery loves company, okay?
00:16Don't judge me.
00:17I like the fact that the Chargers almost –
00:20Hey, it was like that guy in the Geico commercial.
00:23Oh, you almost got it with the dollar.
00:25Oh, you almost were there.
00:28You know what's amazing about what's going on with Mike McDaniel?
00:35I think it seems like a lot of the same things are happening that happen here.
00:41They go into a game with a great game plan.
00:46But we all go into the game with great game plans.
00:51And you have to be fluid in that in the context of what you do,
00:55you have to tweak it and make changes during the course of a game.
01:00Because their guy's getting paid a lot of money to figure out what you're doing also.
01:04So you got to have alternative plans when you see something that,
01:10oh, they're defending it well.
01:13It almost seems like in a Mike McDaniel offense,
01:18and this happened a lot here.
01:21Once they go into halftime and the other team makes adjustments,
01:25you have no counter for that.
01:28So when it gets to the third and fourth quarter
01:31and teams start doing – making changes to the way they defend you,
01:36you have no response.
01:37And I've seen this now here,
01:41and now I'm seeing it there.
01:43Do you feel like with the Dolphins
01:47and their plan that they got going in with –
01:50because they kept basically somebody from the staff and Bobby Slowick,
01:52do you see some of the similar stuff with this?
01:56I mean, I know Malik's a completely different QB than what they've had
01:58because he's mobile and is trying to –
02:02he holds on to – he's not to getting the ball out quick.
02:05Now, both inaccurate by the end of it.
02:08But I do like what I'm seeing from the run game.
02:12Like, Oli Gordon's been surprisingly productive.
02:14Should they lean into that more?
02:16Is it still not enough time and plays?
02:18Like, what are you seeing there?
02:20Here's what you have to do.
02:22And this is why the most important down for a team like Miami is first down.
02:28Right?
02:29If you can get three, four, five yards on first down,
02:32then it brings play action into play.
02:34It brings a lot of other things that you would like to do.
02:38When it's second and 12 and then you go and shotgun
02:44and now you're trying to, you know, get a little chunk back, you know,
02:48not even 10 to 15 yards, five, 10 yards to get you back on schedule.
02:53That seems to be where they struggle.
02:56That happens a lot with, like, young players.
03:00And when I mean young, I just mean guys who don't have a lot of experience.
03:07That a veteran quarterback on second and 12 will take a five-yard gain.
03:15Right.
03:16Will take a four-yard gain and say it's long,
03:20but it's reasonable to get the third down.
03:23It's almost like at times Malik and that offense try to do too much
03:30and then you end up with nothing.
03:33And you see it a lot with, how many times do you just drop back and launch one?
03:38Dude, all the time.
03:39You can't, this team can never afford to be, you know, up against it
03:49or behind the chains.
03:51Meaning that you have to be on schedule as much as possible because you're young
03:54and you don't want to put any pressure on your team to have to make those types of plays
04:00because that's where they're mistakes.
04:03And so I don't know how you go about it.
04:06I mean, when they had A-Chan, they would just use him.
04:10Now it's more of a run game, but I would like to see them be more creative with the run.
04:17Right.
04:20And try to manufacture more stuff on first down
04:27so you don't put your team in a position where they have to make plays on second and third down.
04:31Yeah.
04:32Ali Gordon's now had what, like three straight weeks.
04:34He's had like a third and eight or third and ten, and he's converted it for a huge run.
04:38I don't think it would be really expected.
04:40That's very, if you do it once out of five times, right, maybe twice, you're extremely fortunate.
04:51Yeah.
04:52Right?
04:53But in most cases, Julie Fangio, it's third and eight.
04:58Why are you running the ball?
04:59Yeah, that's true.
05:02So the fact that you got it means that especially for all these analytic people out here,
05:12third and eight probably has a 0.2% of getting the first down on a run play.
05:19Tommy Bravo says, Malik Willis is just not the guy.
05:23It's hard.
05:24Look, again, the thing is, is that we have quarterbacks that you have.
05:35They have no equity.
05:37Malik has no equity in football.
05:39He has two games.
05:41Right?
05:41He's not like, Josh Allen could go out and throw five picks, but he's done this.
05:47He's done that.
05:48We're going to ride with him.
05:50Lamar Jackson could do, have a terrible game.
05:54Yeah.
05:55Right?
05:55I mean, like, look, they weren't in the game, but even at the end, they were still making it something
05:59to watch.
06:00And I think I liked this game, even with all the turnovers, I liked it better than last week.
06:05I thought last week was dreadful.
06:07I thought last week was just like, this was in the muck.
06:09I, it is very chaotic to watch him.
06:12And he makes, I think the word for him is splash.
06:15Like it's, it's, you know, the coach referenced that.
06:17And I'm like, yeah, like the, the, he he'll, it can be awful for like eight plays and then he'll
06:23do something where you're like, whoa.
06:25And I think the whole point is, is guess what?
06:29But he's never missed a wide open receiver.
06:33He's always had to teardrop it in there or hit, hit a window.
06:38There's not a whole bunch of separation either.
06:42That being said, there's no excuse for bad decisions.
06:47I think he had, he's hit this throw a couple of times.
06:49Like he had a rollout where he had a guy that was, was, you know, there for a little bit,
06:53but, but I, but for the most part, I get you.
06:55Like his big thing is, it seems, you know, he's not seeing some danger that's there that he's trying to
07:00throw into.
07:03But I just think for dolphins, like, look, maybe he won't be the guy, but we know what the season
07:10was.
07:11The team's going to be awful.
07:12The whole year is going to be, is he going to be capable with a real roster next year to
07:19win games?
07:21And if you, and is it so, or is it so bad that you have to draft a guy in
07:26the first or second round next year?
07:28I would say you draft a guy regardless if that's, if there's one available, because guess what?
07:34We've seen in the past that they are from an organization that doesn't bring rookies in and play them right
07:41away anyway.
07:42Yeah.
07:43So whether, whether Malik has a crappy year and he has one more year left, you're still going to draft
07:50the quarter.
07:51One has nothing to do with the other, the way they have done things.
07:55First red flag, by the way, for Caden Proctor.
08:00What's that?
08:01His ass is too big.
08:02Did you see that in the league?
08:03Well, it's fun with it right on his ass.
08:05Oh my goodness.
08:07Oh, now you're realizing that he has a big buttocks?
08:10Come on, man.
08:11Now you're realizing that?
08:13That was, that was one of the measurements that they love.
08:16Now you want to, now you want to.
08:18Look, you don't know what you're getting minus one.
08:20You're getting minus one.
08:21Because you were all, before when he was getting drafted, all.
08:25Look at him, Leroy.
08:26He's a big guy.
08:27Big ass.
08:28Now his big ass is a problem.
08:31If only his ass wasn't so big, Malik would have spun around like a, all around Whirlybird
08:36and fumbled the ball.
08:38Or, counterpart.
08:43He could also hold on to the football.
08:47That would be good.
08:48Yeah, he has, he's, he's.
08:50I know, that's a big ass.
08:51Hey, this is, I see the ball doing this.
08:54I'm like, what are you doing?
08:57What was he doing?
08:59Trying to get up out of there.
09:00He was, he was, he was trying to get out of there.
09:04And then, oh no, Hayden Proctor's a giant.
09:06Hey.
09:08You see what Hansel's ass said.
09:10What'd he say?
09:12Read it.
09:13He said, Vlad, don't wear buttocks when you say, when you're wearing those shades.
09:17Don't say buttocks while wearing those shades.
09:20I'm going to wear those shades.
09:21I'm blind right now.
09:23So, like, look, it, it's, and, and I want what I, I'm going to be critical when it warrants
09:33it, right?
09:34But I'm also going to say this, this, a starting quarterback in the NFL gets paid 50 to 60 million
09:43dollars, right?
09:47You're paying 20 million for your starting quarterback.
09:52So, what were you expecting?
09:54Now, it's not saying he can't be something, but when you're paying 30 million dollars less
10:01than what the golden rate is for a starting quarterback, should you be demanding that
10:09he play on, on a par with those guys?
10:12Well, I mean, I think the thing is, I think the, the argument to that though, is he's not
10:16even, he's not playing on par with anybody.
10:18Agreed.
10:18He's been, but he's been amongst the worst in the league.
10:21It costs you 20 million.
10:23I gotcha.
10:24But, but, but the part of that was supposed to be a hack.
10:26Like, they paid him 20 million as this unproven unseen guy because they had all the info
10:31on him in hopes that next year they have a cheap skis year or even the next year they
10:37have a cheap skis year for a productive quarterback.
10:39And now the question is, well, is he even kind of productive?
10:44So, what I, what I say is, is at 20 million, you can take a flyer, right?
10:50It's a flyer.
10:51Yeah.
10:51It is a flyer.
10:52And just understand what my whole point of this is, whether Malik works out or not, you
11:00took a flyer.
11:01Now, after five games, I'm not ready to say he ain't the guy.
11:05I'm not ready to say that either.
11:06I have a problem, the only problem I have with Malik, right, is he was making a kind
11:15of a progression as far as decision-making and stuff like that.
11:18And that's a starting point.
11:20Because if a quarterback always makes decisions and guys aren't getting open, you can do something
11:25with that.
11:26This weekend, he made enough poor decisions for the whole rest of the year.
11:31He did.
11:32It was a wrong one.
11:32And so, that's where I have a problem.
11:36And did it on a week.
11:37I don't have a problem with anything.
11:38Look, he's not.
11:40But I wonder this.
11:42Because he's such an unknown, and now, and I know that it was nothing, like the whole tap
11:47the ball thing, but I did wonder this, of guy, even though that guy did pick off the
11:51ball twice.
11:52Battle did get to it.
11:53I mean, but he threw it behind the receiver.
11:55But he tapped it twice.
11:56And he tapped it every time he threw it.
11:58Well, it also got tapped because one of the balls got tapped on his hand because it was
12:02deflected.
12:03But that guy did.
12:04Hey, listen.
12:04Listen, if you talk that stuff, and then you get two interceptions, you get to peacock
12:07a little.
12:08But I do wonder this.
12:10Do you think that, is he at a point now where more teams are going to have even more of
12:15a book on him because he's got this month under his belt?
12:19Like, there's more film on him now on this system.
12:22So, that's another thing.
12:23Like, while it's unknown, now you have people who maybe can expose weaknesses even more.
12:28And he really has to be able to adjust to this stuff.
12:31Wait.
12:32So, this is what I'm getting.
12:34Imagine if regular people could not show up for work, mess up regularly, be horrible
12:40at their job, and still get paid and not fired.
12:44Sports world is insane.
12:47Happens all the time.
12:48Not, but, but, but, but, but we're doing this after five weeks.
12:53Like, okay.
12:55So, that means, let's be clear, Miami LB.
13:00So, when everybody says I'm being a Karen, when I go and complain at an establishment
13:07for poor service, right?
13:10Why shouldn't that person, like, what are we talking about?
13:14It's been five weeks.
13:15I don't know.
13:16He's lashing out.
13:17Right.

13:28But, here's what we got.
13:29Your final score yesterday, Dolphins beat the Bengals.
13:34Or, I'm sorry.
13:34Dolphins lost to the Bengals.
13:3631-24.
13:37I wish.
13:38Fantasy world.
13:39Malik Willis, 15-27, 137 yards, one touchdown, two picks, eight carries, 74 yards, one lost
13:46fumble.
13:46Am I defending Malik?
13:48Yes.
13:49How?
13:50I think you're trying to soften the blow, and I think people just want to be mad.
13:54It is what it is.
13:55Not defending Malik.
13:57It's, you're actually, listen.
14:00The reality of the situation plays the wrong way.
14:03Okay, exactly.
14:04It's like, they know what the situation is.
14:07They understand the reality of the situation.
14:09They know what the reality of the situation is.
14:11They just don't want to understand the reality of the situation.
14:14Like, they know.
14:15Come on.
14:15You guys knew this was going to be a long season.
14:18For sure.
14:19I'm just surprised that somebody says, always protect the crappy players.
14:23Your tune gets old.
14:25I'm like, well.
14:28Well, the guy he replaced last night came in and ruined the game in two throws.
14:32And who do you want to replace him right now?
14:34Kyle McCord?
14:36Well, you did have Snoop Huntley.
14:38I was laughing about seeing him play yesterday.
14:40I was like, wait.
14:41He's good with the Ravens, though.
14:42He's always good with the Ravens.
14:43That's where he's a dangerous quarterback.
14:46That's been Snoop Huntley's entire career.
14:48If he's on anybody else, he's terrible.
14:49But you know they were Dolph fans yesterday.
14:51Man, we should have kept Snoop Huntley.
14:53He's terrible with everybody but the Ravens when he's on the Ravens.
14:57You tell me that Snoop Huntley's not good for three good Ravens games a year.
15:01That's literally been his entire career.
15:03He's Team Lamar when he's on the Ravens.
15:06He's Team Lamar.
15:07You can get away with it.
15:09You can get away with it.
15:10Two, three games of Snoop Huntley in a Ravens uniform is dangerous.
15:15Then it's too much.
15:16He can't be Lamar Jackson the entire time.
15:18Wait a minute.
15:19There's a lot of quarterbacks that have that.
15:22Guess what?
15:23Did you see Kirk Cousins yesterday?
15:26Yeah, he went back to being Kirk Cousins.
15:27I'm sure Robin at one point wanted to leave Batman to be his own superhero.
15:31He can't do it.
15:32Whoa, whoa, whoa.
15:33He did go, but he turned the edge.
15:37Did he?
15:38Yeah, Robin turned the edge.
15:39I don't remember that.
15:40Robin loved Batman.
15:41You see, he didn't read the comics.
15:43My son's a comic encyclopedia.
15:45I'll ask him about that.
